Hickman's G.O.D.S. is a complete sales dud

>First issue is 64 pages, but it costs the same as Moon Knight #25, a 92 page comic
What was Marvel thinking?

It's All Fucked Shirt $22.14

Ape Out Shirt $21.68

Marvels been really pushing the envelope on what they sell, seems like every justification for these price increases are just to lock in the fanbase.
    >guaranteed no one from the age of 15 to 25 rn, will wanna grab comics for how expensive it is.

Pretty much anyone millennial and younger will never want to purchase new release single issue comics a la carte at any price point. Physical comics at this point survive largely off established whale customers (who are slowly dying off or finally losing interest in the very least) and for the sake of IP farming.

I’m so sick of this fricking post. (You) are so fricking easy to spot you say it word for word all the time.

As a millennial who shops at a shop with mostly millennials who mostly aren’t buying everything blindly I wish you’d have a nice day because you obviously won’t stop saying this shit.

I mean I just wait till trades, 5$ is too much for much for a lot of these lines. I'll say it's interesting that there's only like 1 to 2 comic shops in my area that haven't converted to being tabletop/card game stores.

They just want to squeeze the whales for every last penny.

I have no faith in Hickman, best case I enjoy reading this for free here and order the trade when it comes out.

I like Hickman, but I'm going to do the same, or I'll get unlimited for month and read it there with all the other stuff that I'm not quite interested in to buy.

Hickman is one of the worst writers in modern comics. He's just a pretentious Bendis.

Are comics still pushing agendas? I mainly switched over to manga around 2018 because I got tired of it.

I think brevoort said if it doesn't get significant support it'll die at 8 issues though.

Look, we are in a down economy. Raising your prices is only going to encourage me to pirate your digital releases to save money. I'd rather own physical, yes, but if it's being poor or having digital releases for free and not being poor, I know what I'm choosing

I mean why the frick is the digital the same as the print cost, that makes no sense to me. Unless it would deter the retail side, but I kind of doubt it would have that kiond of impact.

Often enough to encourage a monthly (yearly) subscription fee as part of a broader package to hook you in.

Blame comic shop owners. IIRC when digital was new it was less until LCS owners threw a tantrum about how it'd put them out of business forcing the publishers to price them the same as physical floppies. A lot of the moronic business practices in the industry are due to most LCS owners being old and lazy and moronic.

Did anyone remember any of the Secret Wars tie-ins? It's like it was just Hickman's comic, which I guess did well, and everything else was a forgettable What If.

They were decently received, it's just kind of hard to care about something you know is just 2-3 issues and the creators fricking around until they can get back to the story they wanted to tell.
