And it was ten times better than hearing Trent cry like a b***h despite being a nearly 30-year-old man and making industrial a genre for middle schoolers.

They're retired because they ran out of ideas decades ago. I bet they live like hobos while Trent is ultra rich, banging his asian babe, winning multiple oscars, and the most in-demand OST composer alive.

They're retired cause they're old as hell. Industrial ended in 1992 with Last Rights and Ministry's Psalm 69. There's no need to even try after that.

also Skinny Cucky "singer" Nivek Ogre (yes, he thinks that spelling Kevin backwards is cool) tried to break into the movie business but has only been cast in ultra-low budget straight to video trash. He now has to go to horror cons and sell autographs lmao.

Yeah they are borderline cringe. His singing isn't even that great. I guess it worked in the 90's when edge was the peak of cool and cringe wasn't invented yet

            >I guess it worked in the 90's when edge was the peak of cool and cringe wasn't invented yet
The mid to late 90s was the perfect time to be commercially edgy. Remember when moronic fundies protested Marylin Manson's Dead to the World tour and generated even more publicity for him? It was a more innocent, better time.

You don't like "Hurt"? Not all of the songs are good, but lyrics are generally pretty sappy across most genres, so I honestly have fairly low expectations for lyrics as a medium

Hurt only sounds good with proper context. Johnny Cash made it work because it's Johnny Cash and that dude had a troubled life.

He knows how to commercialize an existing style with a keen sense of arrangement. Before TDS his stuff is formless or not as radio friendly (catchy with a strong narrative voice.) His Challengers stuff is 90s house/gay club rehashed, but in a impersonal, observer way.

I gave it another listen about two years ago and apart from the melodic hook in the hit single (Closer) it really doesn't hold up at all. Amelodic screaming gets old very quickly. I lost the CD in my mess of an apartment a short time later and, believing it to be lost, I threw out the slip case. A short time later I found the CD itself but I figured that since I'd thrown out the package, I might as well get rid of the disc as well. I literally threw the album in the trash.

Also they ripped off Joel Peter Witkin's edgy photographs for the Closer music video, just did 1:1 copies of his stuff (look it up).
