Nope, this film works because it does NOT depict women as automatically brave, heroic, talented and wonderful but insane, stupid, adulterous, monogamous mean, betraying and dumb and everything else as well. This film is a good film for all the reason todays films are mostly bad

god I wish I was a zoomer, i'm 36. I just don't really watch a lot of television, but i've been staying at home the past couple of weeks working on some projects so i've been watching pluto TV and it has some good random movies.

It's good alright, very good make sure you watch the alternate ending
She was insane all along, she stopped taking her anti psychotics before going caving and she murdered them all there were no monsters, they were just her hallucinating and that is her killing her friends, she ends up alone down there having murdered them all. Go rewatch it with this in mind and you will realise the descent is an absolute gem

Even for 2005 this must've felt like a copout.. Well now I don't know what to think.. It's a twist, better than just 60 minutes of nothing and then gollum caves killing everyone in the last half hour.. Maybe.
I remember watching this by myself in a movie theater. The only reason I went was because I was an 18 year old artist who really liked this girl who worked at the tickets booth. She was at my school so at least seeing her at her job could start a Convo like heyy you're in my school and then at school I'd be like hi you're that girl from the movies. Anyway as I was thinking about this a bunch of people suddenly got in line behind me and I got nervous and simply asked for a ticket to the first movie I saw scrolling in some schedule screen, which happened to be The Descent.
So in defeat I bought some popcorn and soda for my scrawny sperg ass, and proceeded to watch that movie which I enjoyed quite a lot, didn't even expect it to be kino.
Some days later I saw that ticket girl holding hands with some Chad looking guy so I stopped caring about her but I still went to the theater to watch movies without being a sperg about it.

The descent, Indiana Jones, Aliens and 28 days days later and star wars a new hope and empire strikes back are the films I saw in the cinema that blew my mind.
O and strangely enough platoon and full metal jacket. Films really have gone to shit with the capeshit and cgi thing. It has to stop.

Decide to go to a movie, have a taxi called to bring me to a movie theatre, arrange with taxi to pick me up in two hours after drop off. OK. Taxi drops me at this cinema on the edge of a swamp, very new looking. I go in. It is completely automated via payment card, no humans. Buy ticket to the fallen. Do not see another soul. No one else in theatre. Watch fallen. Come out have to wait for Taxi to arrive, no one there, eyes of animals reflecting from the swamp. The fallen with denzel washington is a fricking good film. It is also a haunted and evil film.

Horror movies are about consequences for poor decision making. Like you're told not to go down this specific rode so you should go the long way into town or you'll die. But you go down the rode you're told not to and you die or have a really bad day.
Used to love putting this on with girls. guaranteed they will get spooked and cuddle up with you to feel safe

I can't stand movie monsters that are just basic humanoids. I'm talking particularly low effort shit like in this movie. It fricking annoys me, so much potential wasted. Took the movie from what could have been a solid 7.5/10 down to about a 3/10. I really want to like The Descent but the crap creatures ruin it.
