The weird thing is the actual win the game and make a new world stuff was wrapped up ok, but all the character writing and arcs got fricked up near the end. The early stuff was held together by tape and made overnight by one weirdo, the last few pages have tons of artist contributions and took months but feel unimportant. Its a weird hollow ending, but not the worst in the world

I do agree that Act 5 is when it starts to lose a bit of its magic, but it's also the Act that has my favorite moments in the comic so I could never hate it
Act 5 Act2 in the way it was constructed utilizes many tools which are typically reserved for a final act, one of the biggest among them being the breaking of scope and narrative for spectacle. Which again is perfectly fine in the climax of a story but if done to early damages the overall shape and structure of the the work.
this is going to sound weird but i think the problem with act 6 is that it didn't go hard enough on being a reset
it should've been something of a return to form, a pause on the convoluted time frickery. that's all in the old universe, we're done dealing with that. occasional references like the bunny are fine, but for the most part this is a new session.
but it keeps cutting back to intermissions with the beta kids and trolls, and other shit that keeps complicating things even further. and the alpha shit feels like it wants to get itself over with as quickly as possible, i mean act 6 act 4 is literally one single flash page.
you've got your new universe, your main villain is loose, focus properly on the new stuff before you bring the old stuff back.

I was actually thinking about this recently, and my GAME THEORY is that the alpha timeline isn't especially important compared to other timelines, it's just the one that was written down. Doomed timelines are just possiblities that were never canonized/documented.

I completely doubt they'll ever tolerate Jane's xenophobia in the story but I just can't completely villainize her even if she went a bit too far. Inaction on our protagonists' parts will lead to humans being persecuted

It mostly just used Flash for animations and interactive walk arounds, but yes it includes that stuff.
just want to give a tip:
while it is generally worth your time to read pesterlogs, the memos of karkat talking to himself are some of the most painful shit to slog through and you should skip them. you won't miss much.
If you want to ready Homestuck, don't use the website as a lot of the good shit is either Broken or just links to a youtube video.

You need a powerful enough engine. I assume you could figure something out with alchemization

Its unclear how safe that would be. Its impossible to have a 100% self sufficient system. We just dont know enough about the void to say. Also for what purpose? Unless u r escaping a doomed session or dying universe there is no point.

Maybe theres a whole sburb adjacent ecosystem of void hoppers. There could be homestuck tyranids, space locusts that consume universes and puts evolutionary pressure on sburb to fight back
I wanted to do something like that with a big session of some 128 or so people that never managed to win, and instead became a session invading empire. Sort of like the Combine meets an MMO ganking clan

Like, they travel around in a mothership guided by several sessions worth of seers.
Going from session to session recruiting the survivors and looting all they can.
Maybe they could even take quest beds? Are the beds unique to the individual or the aspect / class combo?

I had it so that their home system was this 40k'd up version of a session. Prospit and Skaia now hive cities where huge alchemizers poured universes worth of grist into forging fleets, Skaia permanently enchained with cameras watching its every cloud. What few players remained were insane god kings who had spent billions of years raiding other sessions for resources, or invading other universes if the session had been won, all to prop up their own long decaying Medium.
That's an incredible setting idea.
Frick it. Get a strong space player and they can take the whole fricking planets.
Make their own universe as a big middle finger to the whole of paradox space.
Good villain potential too. They eventually want to destroy the whole system.
Or just heroic, they appear to help and loot, sometimes retire with a winning team, and repeat.
