I've been pouring over horror comics for two years are there literally any that are even slightly scary or good?

Every single one I've read is either an unfocused mess or just "a self indulgent action comic but edgy".
Crossed, Walking dead, a few of the Alien Comics from over the years, Marvel Zombies, read a couple Friday the Thirteenth comics, I even dug up the old Silent Hill comics.
I even read a half dozen fricked up Japanese horror comics, which were universally terrible except for Ito's stuff I guess, but in leaving through his stories they start to become one note, they're all just surrealist nightmare visions, nothing really heavy on premise.

I'm a huge fan of horror movies, I've probably seen a thousand of them or more, without exaggeration, so I'm not just someone that hates the genre.

I would recommend Through the Woods.

I’d love a horror themed Spider-Man potentially with a few team ups which treats the villains like horror antagonists and the heroes/supporting cast like horror survivors

And make Spidey himself feel like a cross between his usual self and a slasher villain who chose to be a hero. Really emphasize how much of a nightmare Pete would be as a killer

      It wouldn't be scary.

Yes it would. Have you ever considered how scary Doc Ock could be as an actual genius hiding in the shadows with his arms randomly coming out through small openings to kill

Being hit by a bus and surviving conciously would be one of the most terrifying experiences of your life but it's not scary as a story.

Eh whatever. I also think Electro would work well as a stalker villain in a horror film. Hiding in electronics and watching his victim at all times
Cornering and shocking anyone else to death while looking like a horrific wraith that’s only half there. Potentially worse if he has a human form, though he could also be reworked as a ghost with Max having died in the accident that gave him powers

Who does the audience believe is going to kill Spiderman in your comic idea?

Oh no, the comic isn’t about Spider-Man dying. If I tried to claim Peter Parker, or Mary Jane, or any other icon would die they’d laugh me off.
No the real question is who is he going to fail to protect, and how terrifying and suspenseful can I make the battle and adventure itself?

I’m going for an Alien or Predator or Evil Dead feel here. Where the main character is badass but bad things still happen

I didn't say who kills Spiderman. I asked who the audience thinks is going to kill Spiderman.
If that threat isn't real, the fear disappears, no matter how many nameless extras you reduce to chunks of tomato soup.
In Predator, you never doubt that the predator might kill dutch. In alien, you believe the Alien might very well kill Ripley. In Evil dead, you KNOW Ash is always in mortal jeopardy, and indeed the first movie ends with him seeming to die.

If the audience doesn't think Spiderman might really die, for realsies and forever, it's not scary.

Ok sorry I misunderstood your question.

Generally the few ideas I have are either Spot, Electro, Lizard, or… my personal favorite option this universe’s version of Patton Parnel. Who is less monstrous in appearance but just as sadistic as any slasher and can easily avoid Peter with his own spider sense

There was going to be a Spider-Man horror film at one point by Tobe Hooper. I was always curious how it would turn out.

      Interesting idea.

    >Texas Chainsaw Superman where the Kents were isolated murderous hillbillies and Clark ended up an insane savage
    >American Psycho Batman where Bruce Wayne is insane, might be a serial killer and feeds bats into ATM machines
    >Predator Wonder Woman where the Amazons are a race of Predator knockoffs that use ancient and weird technology to hunt the most dangerous game
    >Maybe Green Lantern or Martian Manhunter as a Freddy Krueger type character

Right, that totally slipped my mind
I was too busy thinking "how do I make this about xenomorphs" but that's way better

      >Martian Manhunter = The Thing
      >Yellow Ring = Freddy or the manchurian gold from dark pictures a alien component that makes you hallucinate your fears
Or just go with a obvious
      >Scarecrow = Krueger

It's more about the Justice League being slasher/horror villain versions of themselves so using villains doesn't really work
The only other thing I've got is maybe using Suicide Squad characters as people who survived encounters with those villains
And I'm stuck on what you could use for The Flash. I can't really think of any horror villains/monsters that are Flash fast, except for instances where they "teleport" somehow like Jason Voorhees
But if Jason was actually Speed Force fast I feel like you couldn't even enter Camp Crystal Lake without turning into a pink mist

People always trip and hurt themselves while running from Jason don't they? Allowing him to catch up. Have that magic work the same way on Flash, making him trip and twist his ankle so he can't speedforce his way out of the problem.

If the flash was actually speed force fast you wouldn't be able to enter Earth without being saved from all possible harm and experiencing zero crime.

Maybe it's like a J-Horror curse, where Flash is confined by some weird personal rules, looks kind of like his Kingdom Come appearance but more jerky and jumpy, and your death is horrible and completely inevitable?
Maybe you watch a video of him trapped in the Speed Force or something and it catches his attention, so you could tie it to the Ring or Kairo.

I always love it when an interpretation of Scarecrow incorporates Freddy Krueger in it. Arkham Asylum had the syringe gauntlet that was obviously a reference to Krueger's glove, and the man himself voiced Crane in Injustice 2. Hoping this trend keeps up.

They already did a horror comic where Stark is trying to find Atlantis and Namor is the monster in the dark haunting their sub. I really liked it and thought it would have made quite a good standalone movie adaption like Venom, except better because Venom needs Spider-Man in a way that Namor doesn't need anyone else.

Was that Stark? I remember it being set in the 50s or something like that. But yes, it was good.

I think so? It was some alternate timelines thing where Stark was Howard Hughes trying to find lost ancient technology? It's been ages since I read it though.

The Venom movie should've been an action thriller. They took one too many pages out of Deadpool's niche. As it stands, Upgrade is a better Eddie Brock movie (and stars a tom hardy lookalike)

You could reframe Kamala Khan as an insane Yandere who's willing to do whatever it takes to grab her idol's attention, no matter what it takes.
