Its israeli gnostic religion as a comic. God broke himself into many parts so he can have company.
Its also when i stopped collecting Marvel comics as a kid. I had to read six different comics to try and follow one story line. Fricking rort.
Wut that's not true at all. Maybe for Secret Wars II but the first one in 1984 that's pictured was completely self contained in the 12 issue miniseries.
If you think they aren’t backing trucks of cash to rdj and Chris evans houses to be multiverse versions of their characters in secret wars idk what to tell you.
>...I hadn't even considered that. Frick anon, you're more cynical than I am
Not anon, but I've said before that Chris Evans should be happy Marvel is contracting because it makes them more likely to bring back Cap, and if Marvel need him more than he needs them, it's a great negotiating position to get some of that RDJ-tier money
You know what would be cool even with the current iteration of Marvel both in the movies and the comics? If they had the main comics universe and the MCU actually meet as the mult-verse breaks down. I'm surprised they haven't at least hinted at it yet. They could include the various animated versions, as they appear in the animated shows, show up as well.
I was under the mistake of thinking secret wars was about skrulls being shapeshifters. What is secret wars?
Explain it to me as if I were a israeli producer.
A being from outside the multiverse called the Beyonder throws heroes on villains into the Battleworld to watch them whack each other. Until based Doom steals his power.
Sounds like it would be hard to pull off with the characterization of the (few remaining) Avengers
>Sounds like it would be hard to pull off with the characterization of the (few remaining) Avengers
the way the studio was talking during SDCC and after, they're just now getting into revealing what they're aiming for at the end of phase 6. so I'd wager we'll get lots more crossovers and new characters. all of which will be woke and diverse.
And Secret Wars 1984 is literally perfect for introducing new characters with just the premise which they don't even use in the comic but then in addition to that potential they even then still later introduce new characters. How a studio wouldn't want to do this especially after they've already literally paid for the fricking thing is mind boggling.

After he steals Galactus' power as I recall. It's a really great story and actually one of the greatest. I can't believe they would miss out in the opportunity of even half of it to adapt. The entire thing is pure kino.
I dont see how they can turn 2015 into a movie. There's basically no story there. It's literally procedural sci-fi. At least the first 3 or 4 issues I read. It's literally atrocious.
What I think is gonna happen is they'll use the 84 premise and story in general except the battleworld planet will be made from whatever multiverse planets they want instead of generally inconsequential planets from the same universe. And actually as I recall the original battleworld collection of planets is completely inconsequential. The only planet that even factors into the story at is the part that's our own planet earth. So that seems like the big advantage of 2015 but otherwise 1984 soul 2015 soulless
>the 1984 Secret Wars >a story only made because Marvel needed a series to base their new toyline on >named Secret Wars solely because research showed that kids most liked the words "secret" and "wars" >soul
I think the only thing from the original Secret Wars they'll adapt is the fight against Galactus. No Beyonder shit. Avengers/FF/X-Men teaming up to stop Galactus and Doom with a bunch of villains looking to steal his power.
They literally can't get rid of the beyinder shit. It's in both of them. However I agree that they might get rid of the opening premise slay your enemies and all you desire will be yours. It's already apparently guaranteed that it'll involve the "incursion" of the "multiverse" aspect of the 2015 series. I shouldn't even say apparently. I literally don't see how they could not do that at this point.
Yeah I think the upcoming Secret Wars will have The Beyonder (Giancarlo Esposito had a meeting with Marvel Studios). 6-10 years from now when the FF and X-Men are established you'll see everyone against Galactus.
>6-10 years from now when the FF and X-Men are established you'll see everyone against Galactus.
Yeah anon, they'll do multiverses crashing now, and their big finale will be a goddamn dude that eats single planets. Truly, you are a mastermind at logical escalation...
I think James Earl Jones could pull it off if he wasn't in his 90s. Doom has a mask permanently fixed to his face so it wouldn't even matter that he's black.
by making a movie out of it

They're doing the multiverse-focused 2015 version instead
homie the original Secret Wars was a simple 12 issue miniseries
Wrong.
Imagine someone using the n-filth word being stupid.
Wut that's not true at all. Maybe for Secret Wars II but the first one in 1984 that's pictured was completely self contained in the 12 issue miniseries.
anon, they've already ruined it by attempting this after both Iron Man AND Captain America are dead/replaced by inferior false copies

>hurr le countless universes
Then why should we ever even give a shit again about the one in the movie
In the original Secret Wars comic, Iron Man was James Rhodes so Tony not being in it is accurate to the source material.
is there anything left that *isn't* fricked up?

Seeing original Avengers roster in their comic suits would be great.
They are not adapting this one, they are adapting the other Secret Wars, both are shit
I was under the mistake of thinking secret wars was about skrulls being shapeshifters. What is secret wars?

Secret Invasion is the Skrulls one.

I was confused too, because isn't the Marvels going to be Secret Invasion? Glad other anons clarified.
All of them are old/bogged now and there are no interesting younger actors
Flying punching summersaults, quips, what took you so long? More punches. Black folk. The End.
Btw I hyperlinked the protons.
I CLAPPEDDDDD

Literally not an argument.
Isn't the only real 'hook' of the 2015 storyline seeing God Emperor Doom and the big climax of Doom vs. Reed in some thematic/character arc sense?
I did the soijak face as a child when I saw spidey meet the rest of the superheroes during secret wars in the animated series
>How are they going to frick this up?
By making wammens and minoratays the victors.
>Leave the Beyonder to me
Perfect role for Leo DiCaprio

How can other supervillains possibly compete?
>How can other supervillains possibly compete?
However they portray Doom in the movies it won't even approach accuracy of his comic persona.
>Doom played by Gus Fring
that's how
Kang will send the mcu characters to a mishmash of member berries areas like the civil war airport as battle world at the end of kang dynasty
Doom will then steal kangs powers and it’s basically the same outside that.
They'll replace Doom's part with NigKang.
>no spiderman
>no captain america
>no iron man
Have 2 people fight at an airport
Doom can't be translated into live action, whoever they get simply can't match up to how imposing he is in the comics
Javier Bardem could come close
I think James Earl Jones could pull it off if he wasn't in his 90s. Doom has a mask permanently fixed to his face so it wouldn't even matter that he's black.
Why would it matter? Everyone knows people from obscure European countries are all actually african
