Its obvious what their going for with her character. She'll get character development that will slowly soften her personality. Right now she's angry and focused on finding Sauron to the point it damages relationships, but thats the point.
And it won't work, in order for a character to receive worthwhile character development, the character must already possess likable characteristics.
Take Vegeta for example, he is already likable in his first appearance despite being an arrogant butthole and literal genocider, so when he becomes a jobber and becomes less evil, he remains likable.
In contrast to the shitty character, growth sees Lars from Steven Universe, Lars is a miserable character who hates everyone, so the writers just kill and resurrect him as a confident space captain by completely rewriting his personality. Neither version of Lars is likable.

It's symptomatic of this terrible show. The writing and directing is very low-skilled. The casting was poor. Morfyyd Clark is not ugly but she also doesn't have the facial features that are universally attractive to men (ie - Large eyes, full lips, soft round features. She has narrow wide-set eyes, thin lips and pointy angular features).
In addition, she isn't a skilled actress. She isn't terrible but she is very limited. Her mis-casting is magnified by combining it with amateur writing and directing. The writing has given us no reason to care about any character. We are never given enough to develop a hatred for an antagonist, and we are never given enough to root for a protag. It is really the directing that ruins this show. We see the word "soulless" thrown around quite a bit. Most times it is shorthand for poor directing. The direction in RoP is nothing more clever than standard daytime soap opera technique.

she's fine. she's not a mary sue because she has established weaknesses, like being an autist who is bad at negotiating/talking to people and she's completely blind to how rushing into battle to chase her foe might be all according to keikaku. they even acknowledged on that recent ep that she doesn't even have a real reason to fight any more, just pointless revenge at this point and she'd be better off going west and settling down. i'm willing to accept she's a bad ass warrior because the rest of her character fits with this, she's not a bad ass warrior AND a silver tongued diplomat AND an uber genius who can forsee her enemy's plans.
