The current preoccupation with A I nonsense comes from this most human of concepts. It's no Killdozer but it was okay.

Christine isn't Carpenter's original concept. He took Stephen King's story and removed all of Stephen King's moronic ideas.

It's a based concept. I would make sweet love to Christine.

The concept isn't moronic, just unusual. It's essentially a possession movie that leans heavily into its youthful themes.

For zoomers and late millennials anything out of the ordinary is considered moronic.

Name 10 of these ideas he removed.

If it was a pitbull it wouldn't even need to be bitten by a vampire bat, it would act that way naturally

I wonder it would have been scarier if the dog just went crazy with no explanation

It was a good dog so it becoming evil via the bite added a tragic spin to it

              That's a good point.

The tragedy is worse in the book because some parts are from the perspective of the dog and you see how frightened and confused he is, yet also completely lacking in any malicious intent

Ask a child mauled by a pitbull, probably unimaginably terrifying

one time i watched christine in an abandoned theatre on an extremely rainy day, it was the coolest thing i’ve ever experienced

Wish I could see it in a theater. This movie is so beautifully shot that I stopped watching it partway through because it felt like a waste to be streaming it on my shitty little laptop. Need to find a way to watch it on bluray on a proper tv at some point. I always assumed this was one of carpenters lesser works but I was way wrong.

King's idea. He literally wrote 2 more moronic stories about evil vehicles who kill people. For some reason he thinks this is terrifying. The original book is 700 pages long...

no he thinks it's hilarious. A lot of Stephen king stories are dark comedies.

Didn't he get fricked up being hit by a car? Or was that after those books?

nope, before. It's a bit like EA Poe's death .

He wrote it before getting hit by the truck, which is pretty ironic foreshadowing

Did you know one of the cars used for the filming of Christine made an appearance in the Stephen King series 11.22.63, in which Sarah Gadon enters in the 1st episode.

There's nods to other stories in a bunch of stuff. In Cat's Eye the opening sequence has a Plymouth Fury and a St Bernard walking around.
