Its easy. You just try to time the dial tone to the chimes on the grandfather clock and delete your history when you're done.

He arranged for a sentinel to sneak up while he was on night watch and everyone else was sleeping. He disabled the alarms.
The sentinel jacked him off and in to the matrix to make the deal then logged him off and snuck off into the night

They frequently spent time recreationally plugged in. Like when they were all fricking the lady in the red.
Did they need Tank to get them in and out then too?

Mouse or tank clearly log them and step away so they can jack off. Mouse even offers this to neo.
      >Hey put me in the matrix I wanna try and frick a broad still trapped in

What does supply chain logistics look like in the Matrix?
Are there simulated farms with simulated cows, and then real pod-born farmers, butchers, truck drivers, and chefs? If not, where does the cheating start? Do real chefs show up every day and the fridges are just magically stocked? Is the entire place simulated, with only an npc staff?
Did Smith or Cypher pay for the meal?
If the staff was real, did they think Smith and Cypher were gay?

Everything is simulated down to the cellular level.
      Maybe even molecular.
Smiths keep things in check, make sure no scientist does too much digging. They probably discourage such activities.
It sounds like each matrix starts from scratch. They fill it with new born infants that are raised by programs until they are old enough to procreate. Im guessing some memory manipulation is required for the first batch of humans born into the matrix

The matrix is a perfect simulation of the world. Physics would all be the same and they wouldn't have any reason to question it. The matrix probably isn't simulating the rest of the galaxy or universe in the exact same detail as the world to save on processing power.

physicist might be able to determine if it's a simulation if they ran the right kind of tests but what kind of tests would those be? There are literal physicists today trying to figure out if our world is a simulation and they just don't know how to test for it. There are signs that something is up, like how gravity works different on small scale vs large scale but the reality we are given is all we know. You can't test for things that would be beyond your perception.

          Anonymous

Technically not perfect. Things like Vampires and Ghosts, like in reloaded, are explained as programming errors that seep through. Hence why Agent Smith becomes an error because of Neo’s actions in the first movie.

            Anonymous

Things like Vampires and Ghosts don't seem so much like glitches and more like failed creations or hacked in programs to be used by people the merovingian. Having a person that can live forever but has to drink blood seems like an odd glitch and more like a program created for a nefarious purpose.

There are glitchy physics in the animatrix that gets covered up by agents or other programs meant to keep things under wraps. To be fair, in the real world we have glitchy physics that don't make sense (quantum entanglement for one) but we just go "lol we dunno". It's just more exaggerated in the animatrix.

Also considering our universe is composed 80% of something we know nothing about, can't see or even detect doesn't stop physicists from still trying to figure things out.

It’s true that he could edit certain programs in his neat little space, but even the Oracle explains it as programs that have malfunctioned. Less the Architect making those programs and more like the whole “deja-vu” scenario.

                Anonymous

It's never said whether or not those programs were created, just that they were doing something they weren't suppose to be doing. Like they had no purpose to exist. Sort of like the little girl neo meets. She's a program that shouldn't exist.

I imagine it's the same as our world, everyone is in charge of their own life, but they are collectively unaware that their experience is completely virtual. Everything they do has consequences, but only in the matrix. All the agents do is supress any attempts at resistance.
      >Is the entire place simulated, with only an NPC staff?

Cypher was a allegory for the people still chained in the cave(platos cave) that rejected the word outside of their confinement once it was shown to them.

Plato stole the allegory of the cave from an African woman.
Socrates was based of this woman but he made her into a white man because of white supremacy.
Socrates in ancient Greek is broken into three words "So-Cra-tes" literally translates to "Dark Feminine Wisdom"

Can't be too hard to simply write a script that gives him a set amount of time inside the Matrix before it disconnects him can it?
The reason they have operators normally that logs them in and out is to have someone being able to watch out for threats, handle logistics for the team while they are inside and coordinate if they get split up and so they can get out as soon as they reach a hardwired phone instead of having to wait for a preset timer. And then there's the backup that assists the main operator and watches his back in case sentinels in the real world are around or if anything comes up. Probably brings the operator snacks and drinks too when appropriate.
