There is quite a bit of trial and error involved.
As they say a movie goes through 3 versions. The version on paper, the version on set, and the version in the edit.
You need to learn what each version of the movie loses along the way and what to do to make sure it's maintained and enhanced.
good luck lmao
Sell soul to satan and do a few humiliation rituals. >be me >in Hollywood >study film >have big dreams >first week's project >get to act on a group's short >had to wear a dress and act gay >was stupid and naive and did it "for art" >filmmaking didn't work out in the end
Maybe it was for the best. I got back my soul and wasn't butt fondled by old actors.
I don't know why I didn't do it sooner but I started watching directors interviews, behind the scenes material and directors commentary and it sounds like a fulfilling process but also very difficult. Wish I was young and could spend years interning as an assistant of sorts to gain practical experience. But now I am 32 and it seems like it's over. This is when directors would have made their first big hollywood picture after making some smaller indie and student films and years of experience working in the industry.
What do you do now? I hope there could be exceptions to that. I mean, aren't there some writers etc who pivoted to making films? Maybe you have to have mastered networking first and foremost, more so than being an artist type.
Second best time to start is right now. What do you lose by buying a camera and making some dogshit content? Couple hundred bucks? Better than carrying regrets.
Pick a story and decide the mood of the film. Then decide the color palette. Then get the actors and scenes you need to portray this. Then edit it to further portray this.
Really recommend starting with indie films, using one set, two or three actors at most, full length no more than 15 minutes. If it's good enough to get onto omelette channel, it's good.
I'd honestly like to see some of the Cinemaphile autists who talk about filmmaking here to meet and collaborate on something. It'd be guaranteed entertainment if you pick up the right freaks. (I'm in central NY)
I thought that was a screenshot of Krystal Boyd, for a moment, thinking: >Dang, she's looking gaunt... and a bigger nose? >Oh.
Shame pornstars are better looking that modern-day Hollywood actresses.
By making movies
By making bad movies.
Don't go to film school, go to films
>I didn’t go to Home Depot, I went to homes
step 1 make it woke
Like anything else; practice.
make music videos to songs and commercials which are short movies in themselves. Established directors now started out that way.
You watch films, you start to steal things from them, composition, cinematography, lighting. Remember, good artists copy, great artists steal.
you wouldn't steal a car
wait two more weeks and AI will do it for you.
yeah holly wood is finished
Wow dude that's crazy
3 spooky 4 me.
Looks like a very very short horror movie.
>that chick at the end just standing there swaying side to side in the last few frames

Apparently Harvey Weinstein produces you
Making movies is like having sex with a beautiful woman... the more you do it the better you get at it.
If you need to ask it's never going to happen.

Go write a million words
fury road was done on a storyboard drawing.
Cater to normal people
Either through tons of hard work and practice, or you're just naturally creative and talented
