DD and Tyr'ahnee are best left untouched by the modern animation industry, but I still can't help but yearn for a reboot where Tyr and her dynamic with Daffy are more prominent.
Tiny Toons would be the spinoff, having literal alternative versions of classic LT characters. I would not list Animaniacs or Pinky & the Brain. These are just alternative WB toons, not really Looney Tunes derivatives unless you call all slapstick an LT thing.
Enough of the immitation Clampett stuff. You're just not going to top this, modern animators aren't subtle enough to do expressions that aren't stilled for internet memes.

You know I think it's because they're too concerned over the animation looking "clean". Scribner is infamous for drawing frames that don't line up when viewing the animation stills but work perfectly in motion. That probably allows for more freedom and experimentation with the character acting.
The animation in the teaser for the new movie is literally just as good as the webm you post. Hell it's even better based on the fluidity of it. It's very expressive and does a great job of imitating Clampett's style. Go see for yourself before judging.
It's because the Freleng/Jones version of Daffy has been overused for like 50 years and the people who are doing LT now would rather honor the original creators' depiction of the character. In the 40's all the animators preferred doing wacky Daffy except the two that I just mentioned. Tex Avery, Clampett, Mckimson, Tashlin, and Davis all wanted to do that version of the character and when all of them left Warner Bros by the end of the decade, the only person left was Mckimson who was still doing that version of the character before Jones and Freleng pretty much forced him to stop. Then all we got for decades was greedy Daffy which became stale. Roger Rabbit brought back the classic which was awesome even though WB told Zemeckis he wasn't allowed to and went behind their backs and did it anyway. After that, it was just more greedy Daffy again.
That kinda raises the question of how Duck Dodgers would be presented in new media. Would they keep him as Jones' Daffy since he directed the first feature, or would he lean more toward Clampett and the rest?
Kinda wish we got a fair balance where Daffy is ambitious and determined while also both silly and clever, plus the Jones design. I'd take that over him being boiled down to Bugs' b***h or Porky's moronic friend. In any case, I'm glad he got to be cool again.

It doesn't work man, I don't know what to tell you. It's fluid but it's jarring, and it doesn't communicate what the other clip did. It's a bit distracting. I still commend the effort though, I'm glad they're trying.

What I don't understand is why people feel like characters like Daffy have to have one solid consistent portrayal.
Part of the fun of these characters is that, while they have certain core traits, their personalities can stretch in interesting ways depending on who's writing, the same way that they have core aspects of their visual design but their design can be warped and stretched for comedic effect.
I really love the goofy Daffy shorts by Bob Clampett, they're probably my favorite Looney Tunes shorts if it came down to it, but I also really love the Chuck Jones shorts. And the fact that both portrayals of Daffy exist makes me like him as a character more.
The Looney Tunes Show honestly did a good job incorporating aspects of goofy Daffy into a portrayal that seemed to just be butthole Daffy.
The only sane anon on this board I swear to god. Daffy isn't even the only character with an inconsistent portrayal, I think people overlook that Bugs was similarly impacted. Part of the fun for me is the variety, despite having my own preferences.
The difference with Bugs is more subtle because his mannerisms are basically the same, but there was a change over time where Bugs became more of sort of a "hero"
I put that in quotes because he's not traditionally heroic, but in a lot of the later cartoons Bugs never starts anything, he only reacts and messes with other people when they disturb his peace.
This is sort of just the popular conception of Bugs, that he starts no shit but takes no shit, so it's easy to forget that in earlier cartoons Bugs was just as often the instigator.

And not just that! He is also shown being genuinely helpful and well meaning, you can't forget shorts like 8 Ball Bunny or Hare Trimmed. He helps others despite it going against his own peace. This is miles away from his (equally good! just different) portrayal as a seething mischievous trickster. I think Looney Tunes Cartoons leans more into this other "less heroic" version, same way it leans into zany Daffy.
I know you're kidding, but why couldn't they replicate the whimsical feel of the original in the sequel? Was it the 90s vibes of the original, or the constant "theme park ride" feel of all the WB properties being referenced in the sequel? It follows a lot of the original movie and yet feels soulless by comparison.

They look nice, but they feel like a caricature of Looney Tunes. It's more grotesque, and not in a good way. Some of the gags just don't feel right at all, like Tweety inside of Sylvester snapping off parts of his ribcage and starting a fire with them. It has its ups and downs, but I think the ups are much more frequent that the downs and overall it's much better than what it could've been. I've seen the LT franchise be much worse, and I've seen much more stilted uglier shorts be made, so overall it's a fun watch. It also looks great, the animation is mostly fluid and interesting to look at. I just wish it was a bit less gruesome, because that's not very Looney.
Creatively bankrupt Wabbit/New Looney Tunes Mark 1 was better because it wasn't trying to be something it wasn't.
In short, just go watch Rudish Mickey instead.

DD and Tyr'ahnee are best left untouched by the modern animation industry, but I still can't help but yearn for a reboot where Tyr and her dynamic with Daffy are more prominent.
Tiny Toons would be the spinoff, having literal alternative versions of classic LT characters. I would not list Animaniacs or Pinky & the Brain. These are just alternative WB toons, not really Looney Tunes derivatives unless you call all slapstick an LT thing.

You know I think it's because they're too concerned over the animation looking "clean". Scribner is infamous for drawing frames that don't line up when viewing the animation stills but work perfectly in motion. That probably allows for more freedom and experimentation with the character acting.
The animation in the teaser for the new movie is literally just as good as the webm you post. Hell it's even better based on the fluidity of it. It's very expressive and does a great job of imitating Clampett's style. Go see for yourself before judging.

It's because the Freleng/Jones version of Daffy has been overused for like 50 years and the people who are doing LT now would rather honor the original creators' depiction of the character. In the 40's all the animators preferred doing wacky Daffy except the two that I just mentioned. Tex Avery, Clampett, Mckimson, Tashlin, and Davis all wanted to do that version of the character and when all of them left Warner Bros by the end of the decade, the only person left was Mckimson who was still doing that version of the character before Jones and Freleng pretty much forced him to stop. Then all we got for decades was greedy Daffy which became stale. Roger Rabbit brought back the classic which was awesome even though WB told Zemeckis he wasn't allowed to and went behind their backs and did it anyway. After that, it was just more greedy Daffy again.

That kinda raises the question of how Duck Dodgers would be presented in new media. Would they keep him as Jones' Daffy since he directed the first feature, or would he lean more toward Clampett and the rest?
Kinda wish we got a fair balance where Daffy is ambitious and determined while also both silly and clever, plus the Jones design. I'd take that over him being boiled down to Bugs' b***h or Porky's moronic friend. In any case, I'm glad he got to be cool again.

We already reached perfection with Space Jam and Back in Action Daffy which was a good mix of both personalities, this new wave is a fun venture for the character but also feels incomplete/like a step back for a lot of people. If we could have both then everyone would be happy, I don't see why some act like it's a shortage and the character HAS to be one way or another.
Yeah, the characters evolved based on changing audience tastes etc., and after the original studio shut down and they became more merchandising characters than cartoon characters, they were not allowed to evolve.
It would be like if Daffy stayed a crazy screwball duck forever. The reason Chuck Jones (and others, including Bob Clampett) changed him after the war was that this kind of insane character was no longer popular and if they had tried to keep him the way he was originally, his cartoon series would probably not have lasted, just like Porky lost his solo cartoon series when bland everyman heroes like Mickey (that version of Mickey, anyway) were being phased out.
But at some point Daffy got frozen as the angry loser who is jealous of Bugs Bunny and that didn't really change until Who Framed Roger Rabbit where the creators rejected Chuck Jones's pitch for a Daffy/Donald duel (rightly, because it was just warmed over stuff he'd already done with Daffy and Bugs) and went with a somewhat more old-school Daffy.

What I don't understand is why people feel like characters like Daffy have to have one solid consistent portrayal.
Part of the fun of these characters is that, while they have certain core traits, their personalities can stretch in interesting ways depending on who's writing, the same way that they have core aspects of their visual design but their design can be warped and stretched for comedic effect.
I really love the goofy Daffy shorts by Bob Clampett, they're probably my favorite Looney Tunes shorts if it came down to it, but I also really love the Chuck Jones shorts. And the fact that both portrayals of Daffy exist makes me like him as a character more.
The Looney Tunes Show honestly did a good job incorporating aspects of goofy Daffy into a portrayal that seemed to just be butthole Daffy.
The only sane anon on this board I swear to god. Daffy isn't even the only character with an inconsistent portrayal, I think people overlook that Bugs was similarly impacted. Part of the fun for me is the variety, despite having my own preferences.

The difference with Bugs is more subtle because his mannerisms are basically the same, but there was a change over time where Bugs became more of sort of a "hero"
I put that in quotes because he's not traditionally heroic, but in a lot of the later cartoons Bugs never starts anything, he only reacts and messes with other people when they disturb his peace.
This is sort of just the popular conception of Bugs, that he starts no shit but takes no shit, so it's easy to forget that in earlier cartoons Bugs was just as often the instigator.

And not just that! He is also shown being genuinely helpful and well meaning, you can't forget shorts like 8 Ball Bunny or Hare Trimmed. He helps others despite it going against his own peace. I think Looney Tunes Cartoons leans more into this other "less heroic" version, same way it leans into zany Daffy.

It illustrates pretty serious hypocrisy if you claim you're staunchly "anti-coomer" but touch yourself to an innocent gag like that.
I do neither of those things, you're throwing out a lot of assumptions. I am firmly pro-coomer and I appreciate Bugs in drag on an aesthetic and queer level, and only secondly as a fetish.

Once you get passed it's looks you see it's not trying to be something it's not.
*Layouts
They look nice, but they feel like a caricature of Looney Tunes. It's more grotesque, and not in a good way. Some of the gags just don't feel right at all, like Tweety inside of Sylvester snapping off parts of his ribcage and starting a fire with them. The dialogue is probably what's missing more than anything. Lots of clever setups and payoffs or just goofy moments. Remember when Daffy was a detective and Porky asks for the Shropshire Slasher's name?
Porky: Name?
Killer: Shropshire Slasher.
Porky: Occupation?
Killer: Shropshire Slasher.
There's not enough of that.
I liked it, they had to do something new.
But other than that it really is nothing that hasn't been done before.

Yellow gloves bugs looks so rancid to me. Still the animation was good but the gags were just lame
It has its ups and downs, but I think the ups are much more frequent that the downs and overall it's much better than what it could've been. I've seen the LT franchise be much worse, and I've seen much more stilted uglier shorts be made, so overall it's a fun watch. It also looks great, the animation is mostly fluid and interesting to look at. I just wish it was a bit less gruesome, because that's not very Looney.
Wabbit was trash with the occasional fun joke, but it looked absolutely rancid. There was no saving it. Also, it caused LTS to not be renewed for S3 so that's an unforgivable crime.
Pretty sure they only intended for LTS to have 2 seasons and that's it

As far as the shorts are concerned, yes, but I really enjoyed their look from looney tunes show, if we're including spin-offs.
