The core TMNT cannot have a female turtle. It cannot have a fifth male turtle.
It has to have 4 turtles named Raph, Leo, Mikey and Don, this is just something you cannot change about the series no matter how much your contrarian artist desires want to. Its like trying to give Mario another brother, it just won't work.
If you need to have a female turtle they have to be part of a separate group, like Slash. They can work with the turtle on rare occasions but they have to be their own separate thing.
