Fricking shit. I wish after IW when his suit was all fricked up that he went with thor to Eitri (asgardian smith) and got some magical plating to put on his suit giving it that real, armor look and not this sleek nano shit. His suits honestly got worse looking over time.

Again, not an MCU fan, but the nanotech armor exists in the comics. Agreed that the CGI looks worse though.

I still don't like the nanotech suit. It's just such a cop-out, it can do too much. I like it better when you can "feel" the metal and the grease of the suit, an analog suit, if you will

So soulless. The suit up from the first Iron Man movie is one of the best scenes in the Marvel.

I never understood how these "nanomachines" make bigger objects than their storage?
How THE FRICK can you assemble a 20kg armor from 1kg nanomachines?

Basically RDJ's ego hated being "the guy in the suit" compared to Cap and Thor. So he became the suit with bullshit nano machines son meme.

You’d think the nano machines would accidentally envelope the sunglasses as he’s holding them with his bare hands, and they’d be stuck in his hand the whole time.

remember when iron man had "weight"? i dont know how to describe it.

Budgeting priorities. It's not that they can't do practical, or make the suit have a type of form that feels real. It's about how much time and money do you want to allocate in 5-8 movies made in less than 2 years per movie.
      The 1st movie
      >had a real, heavy suit alongside a cgi suit
      >RDJ had to keep a specific bodyweight % to have scenes in the suit
      >A stuntdouble in a modified and layered suit had to film multiple scenes with later vfx enhancements

      The Civil War one
      >A 90 % cg suit
      >RDJ wears shoulderpads with green dots for VFX tracking unless there are specific closeups with him unmasked, then he wears a suit with some exposed areas but with a near full upperbody
      >Stuntdouble uses a thicker version of what RDJ has, helmet included
The last 2 movies with Iron Man
      >A full cg suit
      >RDJ wore a sculpted shoulder pad with green dots for VFX tracking
      >The stunt double puts on the same thing and does his thing
      >But besides that, it's like fully cg

    few questions:
    >why did the suit's cg get worse with every installment?
    >why did they get rid of the robotic effect on tony's voice, when he's in the suit, after the first movie?
    >why did they recast terrence howard

      Anonymous

The voice disguise thing became redundant because at the endOf the first movie Tony announces that he is ironman

        Anonymous

Not anon but I think they meant just the overall effect on the voice as coming through a suit, wheras in the later films it literally just sounds like Tony talking and not like someone inside a robot suit
