That's actually a definitely interesting swerve, anon. Nice one. Lots of ways to go with that where he has to be extremely careful of being caught being Superman.
The best Superman stories all focus on his inability to be truly perfect and raise a philosophical issue or some moral quandary he can’t get out of. They’re personal and not about him punching some and guy. Superman fights are ultimately boring because he’s invincible but no capeshit movie will ever not be action heavy.
He just needs better villains to fight.
No offense to Zod and Lex, but been there done that. And those villains aren't coming from Superman lore. Sorry, Mtxy.
By making him human. Relatable. Superman is interesting because he can't be himself around people. He feels like he's constantly walking on eggshells around people because he is constantly under threat of being recognized and his only defense is being a boring schlub that nobody really gives a shit about. Clark has very few friends. He leads a pretty mediocre life because he HAS to if he wants to stay Superman. His desire to connect with people is constantly at odds with his desire to help people. If he was just Clark, people would die who he KNOWS he could save, and if he was just Superman then he wouldn't be anything but a celebrity, and it would taint every relationship that he's in, and his enemies would undoubtably threaten those close to him.
It's not that complex I really don't understand why people think it's so difficult.
the struggle to be human isnt relatable to 99% of the human race who desperately want to be superheroes. Also, spiderman does it better
The only interesting mainstream superman of recent times has been from injustice. Superman going psycho as he loses everything and becoming an unkillable tyrant.
A story with superman teaching his cousin how to be a superhero would be pretty cool. Why not to kill etc, have superman question the stuff his father taught him for the first time. You could also have that awkward do we repopulate scene
He should be a self-made billionaire instead of journalist (he is supposed to be an ultramegagiga supergenius) and have a Maverick-esque persona as Superman that clashes with his more paternal and stern Calrk Kent attitude. He should act as Earth's guardian and tell other Xenos to frick off while also taking down everything from mad scientists to power hungry dictators when they get too uppity. Make it a clear case that he's a godlike being genuinely struggling with holding himself to certain rules and codes. Also, make him a Chad who fricks and breeds someone like Maxima instead of running after a prostitute like Lois Lane.
Just make him the ultimate sci-fi/space fantasy power fantasy.
we already have supergirl and she had a trans character in her show so idk. but i guess it would be powerful if the fake identity was as a boy and the superhero identity was as a girl
"Truth, Justice and the American Way" has been reclassified as hate speech by the globalists so he can't represent that anymore. Also, his alter ego is a journalist which have all been replaced by propagandists that work for the government. To be part of the current year narrative he has to be a citizen of the world whose chief concern is forcing diversity and destroying nationalism after which he returns to his job as a government shill whose career was funded by the likes of George Soros. Who the frick wants to see a super powered bully doing that on the silver screen?
Basically get a look at what superman is doing in the batman:beyond timeline. You know after he gets sick of being a reporter and justice league goes full schizo.
We all know how he acts normally and we even know what he is like going full crazy, but what happen if he just got tired of it all. Not mad, not sad, not angry, just tired.
It was. That is why that whole timeline need a reset. It had potential to show what the frick superman was doing with his beyond human lifespan and practical immortality. Honestly getting tired of super man either being a boyscout or full psychopath. Both are too one dimensional and difficult to write motivation for without macguffin or damsel in distress. I mean damn superman everyone you know is dying of old age and everything you build is falling apart because you are outlive everyone. What if he just wanted to kill himself rather than be the god of earth everyone forced him to be.
make him deal with an inescapable conflict or some kind of herculean set of trials
something that cements his status as the symbol of hope
they did the doomsday arc too quickly in the films, you have to give him time to build a character outside of the typical fish out of water origin story before you put him up against certain death
honestly the best thing they can do at this point is make cavill's all-star superman
Cast an American
He should be a journalist the government keeps trying to kill.
but it wont reflect reality, journalist work for the government
except if they are conneted to clinton then they die in misterious circumstances
>except if they are conneted to clinton
>conneted to clinton
>clinton=government
that's a pretty high iq response anon.
you didn't deny the fact that every journalist that tries to cover clinton dies by suicide though
That's actually a definitely interesting swerve, anon. Nice one. Lots of ways to go with that where he has to be extremely careful of being caught being Superman.
wasn't old enough to fully appreciate the death of his parents and the destruction of his planet, he has never struggled, he is boring.
Only Superman comic I remember liking was when he lost his super powers and had to fight brutally.
He has to be on his back foot and struggling against a threat. He can be sort of interesting but there is a hard limit due to his premise.
You don't. You make a great film about his villain and his struggle to stop and unstoppable force that nobody else recognizes as a kid playing god.
Red Son is true kino.
Mimic those old silver age comics like the one where he’s making Jimmy fight batman for water. Just make him a full on schizo.
He is not supposed to be interesting. You have to make things around him interesting.
they're doing it on CW
you did in MoS, make MoS2
>MoS
>interesting
lol
kek even
just do alan moore man of tomorrow
Hold on I just got an idea
What if he was evil?

give him an opioid addiction.
He just needs better villains to fight.

damn superman know how to pic them
Make him evil, obviously
Make him trans
we already have supergirl and she had a trans character in her show so idk. but i guess it would be powerful if the fake identity was as a boy and the superhero identity was as a girl
reveal at the end in a plot twist that he has autism and doesnt really have superpowers after all- the rest of the movie was all in his head.
make him le bad

This comic was so fricking shitty.

>How do you make this character interesting?
you can't, because his ethos isn't about getting better at being powerful, and his powers are the main thing that's interesting.
He's better for one off navel gazing tales, and any cosmic stories would be better with Green Lantern or Manhunter
Superman is better as a mythical concept and idea than as an actual character
Make him bald.
Just posting the best version of the character yet.
Y'all asking for a movie that already came out in 2013.
Make Man of Steel 2.
make him deal with an inescapable conflict or some kind of herculean set of trials
something that cements his status as the symbol of hope
