    >My knight is super cool and holy and strong
    >Yeah, well my knight is even cooler and stronger and holier and fricks the first knight's wife
    >Oh yeah, well MY knight is cooler and stronger and holier and more badass and gets more pussy than all of your knights

Did you read Le Morte D'Arthur? Hell did you read The Once and Future King? Because what you described doesn't encompass a half of what those stories are about. What you described is the smooth brain take on superheroes and japanese shonen.

Enlighten me then. What deep and complex themes did my smoothbrain miss while reading "tale of knight guy who is cool and holy and strong"

What do you know about Honesty? You haven't read King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table

    >How do you perceive capeshit?
A blight on the medium that actively prevents other genres from being published. As long as capeshit remains the dominant genre, comic books will continue to stagnate and eventually die.

Why did you use the pejorative "cape shit?"

    Kinda colors the topic, yeah?

Because there are different forms of comics and I meant superheroes specifically. I don't find it offensive when someone uses that word so I'll adopt it.

Capeshit is capeshit. Does it need to be anything else? It was good enough once.

Technically the JSA would be modern Arthurian since they have a literal round table.

Capekino is like a good science fiction/fantasy/pulp novel/series.
    Capeshit is irredeemable trash.

Depends on how well it's done and how saturated the media is with it. The animated shows are aspirational for children in some sense, and the integrated live-action films (MCU, DCEU, etc) are disposable entertainment that I feel won't stand the test of time.

Like what lessons or philosophy (if we're comparing to mythology or Arthurian legend) would you take away from it?

Did older times have an equivalent of "escapist shallow fiction"?

Modern day mythology definitely, in that most of it is people pulling shit from their ass in a giant pissing contest to say their "patron hero" (favourite character) has a higher power level.
