How do you watch the Star Wars movies?
Do you care about the "Despecialized Editions" or "Grungehouse Editions" or the one version by the autistic guy who literally reconstructed the fricking AT-AT's so he could insert them into his own edit of Empire? And I vaguely remember something similar about a dude who wanted to insert his own crafted puppet Yoda into Episode II and III.
or do you just say "Frick it" and click on Disney+?

Theatrical release.
Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi.
Everything else is noncanon garbage.
>Theatrical release.
How do you access the "theatrical release" given that all the DVD's and Blu-Rays made are of a special edition that includes anachronistic special effects?
See
the old DVDs had the original release on them as well as the updated version
>Return of the Jedi
not canon
Only correct opinion.
123movies dot com look for star wars page back because ads popup and yeah im on mobile
I saw the first three movies when I was a kid.
Never seen them since. That's how I watch Star Wars.
I have the despecialized editions on dvd and watch those along with the prequels
I just go on a free website and watch it. Don't care what tf version it is. I just watch it cuz its cool.
>How do you watch the Star Wars movies?
Light saber, check
Jedi Costume, check
Yoda Doll, check
Real Doll dressed up as Padme, check
Apparently there's a fan-edit called Pulp Empire which makes the whole movie feel like a Quintin Tarintino movie.
First result on google.
I guess sometimes I watch them with rifftrax. The process of me getting over Star Wars (thanks to Star Wars itself) was gradual but permanent so i no longer have the need for the despecialized editions although it's probably the best available version even if it goes too far in a few places.
>despecialized editions ... goes too far in a few places.
How?
A few effects are too edited although I know that they wanted it too look more like theatrical releases even if some small changes in the re-releases were actually ok. And they changed the sliced off arm in the cantina thinking it was a goof even though it wasn't.
>And they changed the sliced off arm in the cantina thinking it was a goof even though it wasn't.
Huh? What do you mean?
They think Obi Wan cut Dr. Evazan's arm. They're wrong although it's difficult to see but there was no error in that scene.
I've had the despecialized editions since I was in high school. The 4k77 version looks like complete ass so frick that.
I just watch those editions that have the deleted scenes from the original scripts inserted back and which use the best bitrate and visual sources - such as NumeralJoker torrents.
Once i'm done with episode 6 I stop.
>I just watch those editions that have the deleted scenes from the original scripts inserted back and which use the best bitrate and visual sources - such as NumeralJoker torrents.
So what, are those deleted scenes re-enacted by the fans?
Lucas said Star Wars is supposed to be seen from ep 1 to 6.
Lucas is a leftist hack moron that couldn't direct a sneedposting thread, much less a feature film. Who cares what his obese elderly ass has to say?
Dunno, the fact its his creation so if he said the thing he created need to be watched this way, i'm ok with his suggestion.
that ruins the 'I am your father' surprise a bit eh?
>that ruins the 'I am your father' surprise a bit eh?
No, because the greater surprise is that Anakin joins the Dark Side in the first place, and when you see the "Join me, I am your Father" scene in Empire, it makes you think Luke could really join the dark side. After all, his father did.
Lucas also said Clone Wars is canon and he sold to Disney and then said Disney are white slavers. He is senile.
Prequels only.
Sometimes I also watch Empire Strikes Back.
>OT
4K 35mm Scans.
>PT
4K Blu-ray.
>ST
I don't.
Remember that Robocop or Shrek fanshit from a few years ago, where every single scene was re-enacted by buttholes to look like garbage?
Well they did the same thing with Empire Strikes Back.
new hope and empire strikes back special edition blurays and return of the jedi theatrical window boxed limited edition bonus disc dvd. Empire Strikes Back is a total improvement and New Hope improvements are all really fun as long as you literally just blink when greedo shoots first. Return of the Jedi special edition is atrocious and literally ruined.
Found the Grindhouse edit I remember Cinemaphile telling me about a decade ago.

Thought Experiment:
You are tasked with creating a special edition version of the ST, to go along with the PT and OT special editions, what superficial changes do you make to make them more palatable?
Animated gif of a naked dancing twilek girl in the middle of the screen for the entire runtime.

Put a bunch of flashbacks of Han Solo scenes right as Han Solo dies.
Edit the scene so Princess Leia actually dies in The Last Jedi and remove her scenes from Skywalker Rises.
I just watch the blurays. I don't like the special edition changes but the only things that really bother me are Jabba in ANH and the cartoon musical scene in RotJ.
just watch Fanboys instead
That's a neat little flick, seen it three times now and it holds up. All the modern reviews seething about how it "aged poorly" are just gravy.
What's wrong with The Empire Strikes Back special edition changes? They all seemed good to me but I suppose offhand I don't exactly have a working knowledge of it.
>the one version by the autistic guy who literally reconstructed the fricking AT-AT's so he could insert them into his own edit of Empire?
I looked it up. It's called the Adywan "Revisted" edit. He made his own AT-AT's and his own Yoda Planet Forest, but if you watch the side-by-side comparison it looks nearly identical, except coloring.
He added some of the two-legged AT-ST's to the battle of Hoth, to add continuity with the N64 games, I guess. But he says he made his own models of the ships and everything and I don't see it. It all looks exactly the same.
I was disappointed.
Disney+, they are the highest quality versions of the director's intent and thus the only way to watch it if you are a kino knower
Yeah I watch the despecialized versions.
>spoiler
lol never. On torrent maybe, if I'm very lazy.
4K77 and 4K83 (and soon 4K80 once it's released) are the best way to see the original films, they are scanned from original theatrical film reels in 4K and look the way the films actually looked back then, no DNR or special edition CGI bullshit. You can find them on any torrent site, the file sizes are huge though, somewhere between 60-80GB
I actually looked up the Grindhouse Editions of the Star Wars movies, and they're kind of funny and interesting.
I could only find IV: A New Hope. Does anyone have links to V or VI?
>How do you watch the Star Wars movies?
I don't.
>they are selling you the fricking oroginal movie as a new product, after having created an artificial drought
Summary for western economies right now.
