Nah Book or Life had a terrible story with down right boring characters. Hell it had a literally Maria Sue. However Book of Life is miles above Coco in terms of visuals. Had Coco had Book of Life's art direction it'd be one of the all time best animated films.
Book of Life was so generic. I'll give you that it had a more unique art style but the characters are so forgettable and I can't even remember the plot. Also, Coco had more emotional moments and a memorable plot. The scene in Coco with the grandmother and her father's song made me feel something.
Book of Life was ass. Even if Coco "ripped it off" I wouldn't mind because Coco is simply better Coco is alongside Up, Toy Story 3, and Finding Nemo as one of the most overrated Pixar movie
I like Soul but it feels like the quality is not on par with previous movies. I appreciate what Soul was trying to do, but ultimately it fell a bit flat, like the themes were too big for the movie to handle. Which in a way is understandable since they were dealing with something complex but idk. Puss in Boots 2 did it better in my opinion. Soul just ended up a bit scattered and somewhat unfulfilling. Compare it to Ratatouille which also addresses grand and complex topics but succeeds at telling a story and sending a clear message.
Soul is by no means as mid as Elemental, and neither does it feel pointless like, say, Inside Out. But I think... Maybe it was the beginning of the end.
Any 'man vs self' is very easy to get wrong, since the only thing holding them back is that they're thematically required to be a twat until the climax when we're supposed to be happy the twat that could have just stopped being a twat for the last hour and fifteen minutes finally had a change of heart.
oh wow i just realized this. they’d both be around 100 years old but coco's the only one who looks like it. there’s also more urgency in getting coco to remember hector since she’s so old and losing her memory and there’s satisfaction once she does finally remember and gets to die peacefully and see her parents in the afterlife. i didn’t really feel any urgency or stakes in regards to saba turning 100 and having his wish granted. it was just more of a pointed reference to the disney 100 thing.
Your processed gringo propaganda worked on me. Coco is my favorite Pixar movie, Book of Crap was the attempt of a gay who is essentially a weeb but for México would try to make.
Now what?
Weaker book of life
Both movies are latinx kiño
No more hermano wars

I say having to prove you want to make music and fighting the under world is a better story and Encanto did the redeeming a family member better
This anon has the right of it. I was legitimately floored the first time I saw Book of Life over how weak it was, and I even loved Maya and the Three.

really?
It's good, especially more so when compared to the films that would come after and it made me cry the hardest
i liked the song
It was pretty good but I am also the homosexual who stans Turning Red
>gets shipped with Hiro from BH6 for no reason
The reason is they're both cute boys and it would be hot to watch them frick
Good enough reason for me.
And then Sora swoops in and cucks that little brown wide nosed shit lol
>And then Sora swoops in and has a threesome with Hiro and Miguel lol
Fixed.
Oh yes that IS better, good thinking anon
I can't see as being non-creepy since HJO is like 100 now
This is just one weird Japanese autist self inserting as Hiro isn't it?
Seems more likely a short brown Mexican self inserting
I hace some fanart from different artista, will post if this thread is still alive when I get home.
i still like it
It's my maybe-favorite Pixar
Does it deserve the "Last Good Pixar movie" label?
Soul?

It's not WALL-E so no.
i almost cried when i saw it at the cinema at the time, i had just left my country
Then go back you fricking wetback bastard.
Fricking beaner shit.
As any movie/show that takes place in Mexico, it is better in its Latin American Spanish Dub (which usually is done in Mexico).
Extremely boring and pandering.
They knew how to write grandparents in that movie. And then they forgot.
The goat in pajamas is so stupid looking. He would look much better without the gay PJs.
Like the original concept art

Boring plot and characters, but great art direction. The land of the dead intro shot's the best looking thing Disney's ever done.
Garbage. Im not even going to call it latinx goyslop because Im not being ironic in the slightest when I say I hate this movie.
If you fantasize about 12 year olds kissing you should have a nice day
>fantasize about 12 year olds kissing
As you command.
Yeah I agree, that's why I make it my daily reality
Where were you when we had the ParaNorman threads?
>Its any thread where a movie is popular with Cinemaphile and has teens/preteens in it
I didn't need to be here for ParaNorman
Probably the best thing Disney published since 1960
back when this movie came out some guy I knew said "hey it's anon" to picrel and i still agree with him
jfc if you're going to take the time to make the gif, at least freeze everything except the bouncing guy so it doesn't look like shit
Never saw it.
El Kino
Never let it be said that Cinemaphile is not a safehaven for yurigays and fujoshits
I liked it when I first saw it. I've watched it a couple of times after that and still liked it.

A shitty movie about Mexican skeletons.
i slept halfway through when it was just miguel and hector walking around mexican hell
