>Hero can apparently do no wrong
>Hero's instincts are always right
>Hero almost on the verge of losing until miraculously rescued
>Through self-belief, hero defeats villain despite huge odds stacked against him
I could go on and on, the entire plot of this movie was unrealistic from the get go.
>how is this movie any different from capeshit
Because it's good and I like it.
only fags like that shit
yellow minuscule clawlike fingers typed this
>how is this movie any different from capeshit
hero is a straight white male
So who was the hero in Captain america : first avenger?
I dont know, I dont watch capeshit
Like Thor, GotG, every Spiderman, Dr Strange, Iron Man, Captain America, Ant Man and Loki?
Dr Strange is gay, chud
Half of them are gnomish
Literally only RDJ and Rudd. More like 20%.
It is capeshit, like every good blockbuster it is considered a Marvel movie to normies
Hero constantly fucks up. Crashed superjet. Puts people in risky situations. Has social and behavioural and mental issues. Literally the only thing he's good at is flying and that's only because of 30 years experience.
>Crashed superjet.
Was it an F-35? Because that's pretty unfair of you, unlimited American taxpayer monies are lucky to keep 20% of those things in the air.
It's like blaming the pilot when an Osprey crashes and kills everyone.
no, some experimental Aurora class black project from area 51 conspiracy
And it's totally pointless. There's no reason not to bring the SR-71 out of retirement for one last ride. Plus, I totally would have pissed and shit and jizzed all over myself in excitement if they put a Blackbird on the screen instead of some scifi bullshit.
>And it's totally pointless. There's no reason not to bring the SR-71
These films exist to promote the next big USAF budget ask, they are already chomping to replace the horrendously expensive F-35 with a hawt new advanced jet.
That is the way the US military has worked for years. Get one new aircraft out the door and immediately begin development on the next. The development cycle is so long by the time you finish the old aircraft has already reached half of its service life.
Or something something military industrial comple .
Yeah but now you can have 500% cost overruns, end up with a product that works only 20% of the time, and everyone just shrugs and starts working on the next generation.
In the good old days the loss of a Shuttle or two would bring the entire project to a halt.
>That is the way the US military has worked for years.
That is probably why the US has the best jets.
It has a lot to do with having a military budget comparable to the rest of the globe combined more than anything.
lol you are a bit behind, the prototype for the Next Generation Air Dominance/F35 replacement has already flown back in 2020. Now they are trying to get money to replace the F16, seeing as they finally realised that the F35 is too expensive to replace it as they had previously advertised.
Were the F-16/F-18s the last great American fighter jets? Ones that didn't require an intravenous drip of billions to keep airworthy?
Sounds like Tony Stark lmao
>How is this movie any different from capeshit?
It has practical effects and good cinematography, and there's no quips every five minutes.
>It has practical effects
It's mostly CGI, say 90%. I was lured to believe it would be real shots like in the good old days, but it wasn't.
I won't deny that there is CGI, but a good chunk of it was done with practical. It felt real enough to me minus the stuff that was harder to pull off like explosions, etc.
Some cockpit shots ok (but not all), and most if not all the aerial scenes were definitely CGI.
>REEEEEEEEEE
I WANT TO HATE EVERYTHING
Touch grass gay.
Wow you've just described every hollywood movie ever. Congrats, op.
Who cares? It was kino
if it was capeshit there would be
>more quips
>set up for another sequel
>90% more cgi
>shitty camerawork
>>Hero can apparently do no wrong
he trashes a jet at the beginning. also they repeat a lot in the movie that he fucks up constantly but ice man keeps saving his ass from being demoted.
he definitely makes less mistakes than in the first movie because his character he has grown up
>>Through self-belief, hero defeats villain despite huge odds stacked against him
it's supposed to be an heroic film, did you know capeshit didn't invent that, right?
still a solid 8/10 film
He literally gets fired in the first 15min for going too far and only got bailed out because his best buddy is a four star admiral.
>Hero can apparently do no wrong
Just like Tom Cruise ?
based hive mind
That's Tom Cruise's life though.
>You hated Top Gun: Maverick
>You hated the Northman
>You hated Everything Everywhere All at Once
>You masturbated to Doctor Strange 2
I know your game.
This, is easy to notice the pattern.
>Makes Capeshitters and Soiwars babies cry in desperation
>BTFOs twittertrannies
>Makes chinkoids and Vlads seethe in agony
>The cocky white male saves the day
>garden gnomes and democrats seething about muh "enlistment movie"
>Makes sexist jokes that are validated trough the film
>Movie makes a Cruisillion dollars at the box office and all normal non-deranged people loves it
Can't Bruise the Cruise!!
Absolutely based, this film is the ultimate litmus test for if you’re a gay ass chud or not.
Why do morons hate this movie so much?
He's right though, it's like claiming the Jurassic sequels captured the same magic as the original.
It’s a high t movie. Low test betas need not apply.
I don't care what a black women thinks about top gun it wasn't made for you.
Brie Larson.
Went to watch this last Friday. Nary a nignog or a chud in sight.
Are blacks retarded ?
CAN'T BRUISE THE CRUISE
If chinks hate it, it's based and I'll watch it. Fuck chinks.
>when the hero is an actual good guy and not a morally grey fuck up
Maverick was always an arrogant, childish bastard who's greatest challenge was overcoming his feelings of guilt over killing his best friend with his ass-headed antics.
This is good though
It’s the midwit cycle. They think they’re being intelligent and counter culture when the current culture is constantly churning out the slop they want. We get a rare callback to 80s kino and they seethe because it’s “below” them.
>We get a rare callback to 80s kino
Hollywood has churned out ENDLESS sequels and reboots of 80's action-shit.
The original Top Gun was competently made Hollywood formulaic military propaganda. You're just pissed because your Mother's drug and alcohol abuse kept you from reaching up to midwit status.
sequels which implanted their gnomish subversion and pseud shit redditors like you love pushed into it. there’s nothing more midwit than calling something propaganda as an insult btw. battleship potemkin and joan of arc are both propaganda movies that are masterpieces. i don’t give a shit if it’s pushing a message because literally every movie is, including tedious moral grey shit. it’s a fun well made film, go cry about it
Setting aside all your mental gymnastics and hypocrisy, I suspect you are just full gay for Tom.
>i’ll just say the meme phrases without pointing out where he was a hypocrite or bothering to explain what my actual issue with his post is
yawn. and yeah, i’m a proud cruise missile
>i’ll just say the meme phrases
was LITERALLY a response to
>gnomish subversion and pseud shit redditors like you love pushed into it. there’s nothing more midwit...
You are totally lacking in self-awarness. You have degenerated into a shit-posting-bot without realizing it.
I used those buzzwords meaningfully. You just say “hypocrite” and “mental gymnastics” with zero actual point to make. Like why is silent era commie propaganda that is utterly morally black and white good but tom cruise action movies which do the same are bad? The merit is in the film making and this new top gun is an excellently made, tense and thrilling film. Wether is pro american military or doesnt present people as shitty as the weak willed audience doesnt factor into it
>I used those buzzwords meaningfully.
Give me a fucking break jr.
most movies are barely different from a comic plot. its why its fucking retarded when some people use the "good guy always win in the end" argument to say why its bad. most movies have the hero winning. there have been ten mission impossible movies and I dont recall cruise losing in a single one. at least the mcu had thanos winning in one movie. thats more than other franchises can say in terms of letting the bad guy win
Starlord loses his father and dad as the cost of saving the galaxy, the movie ends on a somber note. Cruise movies typically end with the reaffirmation that Tom(s character) is teh greatest who evar lived.
If we're going by that logic then Tom Cruise's character lost his wingman Goose in the first movie and that fucked him up mentally, he spends the rest of the movie trying to overcome this tragedy. And then the guilt comes back to him again in the sequel with Goose's son and again he spends the entire movie trying to overcome this guilt and be in good terms with Goose's son. The protagonist is far from having it easy.
>at least the mcu had thanos winning in one movie
In the first part of a two-parter movie.
Strange Fails pretty thoroughly in the latest one, he gets a ton of sorcerors killed, the Book of Vishanti destroyed, and Earth only survives because the antagonist has a moment of self-realization and commits sudoku. And now Strange is corrupted by dark alien magics as a result and never managed to "get the girl" in any reality.
>at least the MCU had Thanos winning in one movie. Y'know unlike other franchises...
Are you mentally disabled?
There's no better evidence of capeshit sapping people's imaginations than their insistence to supplant the term 'action adventure blockbuster' with 'Marvel/Superhero-like'
Forrest Gump with planes?
It's not based on comic books? Because for me that's the difference between capeshit and any other blockbuster.
Is Hancock capeshit? Is The Incredibles capeshit?
What about A History of Violence or The Road to Perdition?
those film are based on comic-books...
If ' based on a comic' meant being a direct adaptation than the entire MCU would be disqualified from the term
Hancock and Incredibles are NOT based on comic books.
Road and History are.
Do you seriously think that the incredibles is not based around the comic book genre, simply because it's not an adaptation?
>the comic book genre
There are at least a dozen genres published in the form of comic books.
Comic books aren't a genre.
Adaptation =/= based on a comic
It was kino and making little dick asians seethe to their absolute core is just an added bonus. Consider this revenge for your bbc posting chang
shut up moron lover
Do you guys think AI could replace pilots in the future?
Guided missiles and drones practically have already. Ask Russian tank drivers.
Yes.
not entirely but yeah I can see A.I. and drones piloted from a persons desk doing a large chunk of the work one day. you might want a couple man piloted planes out there but really only in low numbers.
because it doesn't have space aliens and magic in it you moron
all actors literary experiencing 7g while acting
no cgi with the exception of 5gen figheers, explosions and anti air launchers . great sound effects and soundtrack
>I didn't like top gun because it was unrealistic
Imagine hating fun this much
not to mention only america coming up with suecide squad plan is unrealistic, the whole setting is great idea to have excuse for close range fighting
(planes shooting messiles from beyond visual range is not fun)
Besides the US government being good and a ~55 yo being able to handle that much G force, it's kinda realistic. Plus the feel is just different: the drama, retro, and macho elements are more fleshed out.
it's not filled with gays and strong black womyn and diversity hires
marvel is for gays and trannies
There were black and female pilots though, it just wasn't cringe about it.
Minimal use of CGI, nothing happened that was inherently impossible
>Minimal use of CGI
Brainlets will disagree with you but Maverick is definitely an unbeatable superhero. And the movie had tons of CGI too, at least 50% of it, and it's very obvious if you watch the movie. Don't fall for the marketing.
