How is this movie any different from capeshit?

>Hero can apparently do no wrong
>Hero's instincts are always right
>Hero almost on the verge of losing until miraculously rescued
>Through self-belief, hero defeats villain despite huge odds stacked against him

I could go on and on, the entire plot of this movie was unrealistic from the get go.

Hero constantly fricks up. Crashed superjet. Puts people in risky situations. Has social and behavioural and mental issues. Literally the only thing he's good at is flying and that's only because of 30 years experience.

Was it an F-35? Because that's pretty unfair of you, unlimited American taxpayer monies are lucky to keep 20% of those things in the air.

These films exist to promote the next big USAF budget ask, they are already chomping to replace the horrendously expensive F-35 with a hawt new advanced jet.

That is the way the US military has worked for years. Get one new aircraft out the door and immediately begin development on the next. The development cycle is so long by the time you finish the old aircraft has already reached half of its service life.

Or something something military industrial comple .

Yeah but now you can have 500% cost overruns, end up with a product that works only 20% of the time, and everyone just shrugs and starts working on the next generation.
In the good old days the loss of a Shuttle or two would bring the entire project to a halt.

lol you are a bit behind, the prototype for the Next Generation Air Dominance/F35 replacement has already flown back in 2020. Now they are trying to get money to replace the F16, seeing as they finally realised that the F35 is too expensive to replace it as they had previously advertised.

I won't deny that there is CGI, but a good chunk of it was done with practical. It felt real enough to me minus the stuff that was harder to pull off like explosions, etc.

most movies are barely different from a comic plot. its why its fricking moronic when some people use the "good guy always win in the end" argument to say why its bad. most movies have the hero winning. there have been ten mission impossible movies and I dont recall cruise losing in a single one. at least the mcu had thanos winning in one movie. thats more than other franchises can say in terms of letting the bad guy win

Starlord loses his father and dad as the cost of saving the galaxy, the movie ends on a somber note. Cruise movies typically end with the reaffirmation that Tom(s character) is teh greatest who evar lived.

        Anonymous

If we're going by that logic then Tom Cruise's character lost his wingman Goose in the first movie and that fricked him up mentally, he spends the rest of the movie trying to overcome this tragedy. And then the guilt comes back to him again in the sequel with Goose's son and again he spends the entire movie trying to overcome this guilt and be in good terms with Goose's son. The protagonist is far from having it easy.

Strange Fails pretty thoroughly in the latest one, he gets a ton of sorcerors killed, the Book of Vishanti destroyed, and Earth only survives because the antagonist has a moment of self-realization and commits sudoku. And now Strange is corrupted by dark alien magics as a result and never managed to "get the girl" in any reality.
