Started drawing since last year and I've been improving a lot. But I started drawing on a Wacom and Clip Studio since June and it's been a pain to adjust. It doesn't have the same precision as drawing on paper. Even stabilization to smooth the lines doesn't feel right.
If this is true then why do most artists still need a reference? No matter how well you can "visualize" in your head you probably use multiple references, 3D programs to insert the references, and knowledge of perspective/rendering to keep it from looking like an 8 year old drew it.

this is literal bs you made up
because it's bullshit made up by /ic/ crabs
I thought the npc meme came out of people realizing they don't have inner monologues.
It's a journey, didn't know anything since last July so I started with stick men and poses, then I learned about bones and could build more complece stick men, then I learned the body's muscles, and so on and so forth. Right now I'm studying ears and have just been doing only that lately, once I finish up learning the body I'm gonna move onto cloth folds.
the sad reality of art is that if you aren't good after 2-3 years you will never be good. People claim "talent isn't real" but that's just survivor bias. There's a reason only 0.0000001% of art school graduate become famous in any sort of way
I'm starting to think that people who are good at something they don't do professionally don't really KNOW they're good at it, cuz they're always are so self-deprecating.
An hour after putting off drawing for six years.
I regressed because I haven't practiced in a long time.
Around two years, that's how long the /ic/ guide I used told me it should take
Ive been drawing for 20 years and I’m shit at it
This but make it in the ten year ballpark.
Have you tried taking an in-person class or course?
5 seconds. Like just draw what you see dude it's not hard

Worked on gitting gud for six months, took an unexpected hiatus for another six months. Still working on it.
I never improved.
>>>/ic/
My hands shake. The best thing I've ever drawn is still trash.
show
Don't have any samples scanned, don't have a tablet. Sorry.
You could just take a picture with your phone, unless you don't have your drawings with you or whatever
This again?
Your image is shit. Construction is awful.
Its not OP's art.
After about ten years I can finally look at most things I create and say "yeah I don't hate this."
I wish I could draw well but unless you are born a blue person it's pointless.
I am that blue person, but I have "stupid fingers."

I'm purple. Why is purple the only woman?
I thought the npc meme came out of people realizing they don't have inner monologues.
Those are separate things entirely.
I'm a blue person
why should I draw the porn I can so easily imagine?
Duh
You can just become any one of these if you want to moron. Start visualising and drawing more and more and you will become blue
By finding a good system you can crunch on
Honestly I never noticed any improvement until like 8 years into drawing
I got a job as a concept artist, got really good at painting and now can't draw fun cartoon stuff nearly as well as I used to be able to
It's been a lifelong struggle and I'm not good. But I do enjoy it, so a mixed bag I guess.
I'm still not very good at it but that doesn't stop me. I learn more and get better with every drawing
