Started drawing since last year and I've been improving a lot. But I started drawing on a Wacom and Clip Studio since June and it's been a pain to adjust. It doesn't have the same precision as drawing on paper. Even stabilization to smooth the lines doesn't feel right.

If this is true then why do most artists still need a reference? No matter how well you can "visualize" in your head you probably use multiple references, 3D programs to insert the references, and knowledge of perspective/rendering to keep it from looking like an 8 year old drew it.

It's a journey, didn't know anything since last July so I started with stick men and poses, then I learned about bones and could build more complece stick men, then I learned the body's muscles, and so on and so forth. Right now I'm studying ears and have just been doing only that lately, once I finish up learning the body I'm gonna move onto cloth folds.

the sad reality of art is that if you aren't good after 2-3 years you will never be good. People claim "talent isn't real" but that's just survivor bias. There's a reason only 0.0000001% of art school graduate become famous in any sort of way

I'm starting to think that people who are good at something they don't do professionally don't really KNOW they're good at it, cuz they're always are so self-deprecating.
