>Julián is the story of a boy who wants to be a mermaid. The wide-eyed Julián spends a summer of discovery in NYC with his Abuela. Nearly strangers, they brace themselves for tense conversations and new adventures. The colourful chaos of Abuela’s world, and the stories she tells him, awakens something within Julián... questions about who he is and who he could be. Julián’s journey will reach across the diaspora, from Brooklyn block to the depths of the ocean, in an intergenerational ebb and flow. Through Abuela’s world, Julián explores his identity, gender expression and the hidden heritage of his family.
I dunno why they didn't use "Merman" unless this is supposed to be some trans allegory shit.
I'm not from /misc/ but are there black people in Ireland ?
I mean probably yes, not a lot of them I'd imagine but they exist. But that hardly matters as this movie by its description is clearly not set in Ireland they literally use Spanish naming conventions and mention it's set in NYC.
CS gave us one of the best trilogies in animated media already, and after how mid My Father's Dragon was, and the awards snubbing, yeah i feel we're entering their dark age...
I'm sure if they start to lose money and their work starts bombing, they might try to go back to what worked and make another Irish folklore movie again.
They already did, anon
Not directed by Moore nor Irish nor original stories
Forgot that this one existed at all.
Was even okay, something looks a little off
>Dose not Know Breadwinner and My Fathers Dragon exist
>Breadwinner
>Irish
I don't know about the dragon one but breadwinner is about afghanistan
I know it and saw it, but doesn't feel part of the same pack. Not as related
Doesn't that collection have a defective case that cracks the discs from the center out?
I dunno about cracking discs but they do fall out easy. The center part is this weird squishy thing
They are done with irish folklore for the moment.
They are going with other stuff like muslims, dragons and star wars now.
They should combine the three and make Cartoon Saloon's Dune.
Star wars?
They're doing a short for Star Wars Visions season 2

>Ends up being the worst Cartoon Saloon movie
>Wins the Oscar
I'm not from /misc/ but are there black people in Ireland ?
>It's real
Is really as gay and pandering as it sounds?
>it's real
I hope it wins the Oscars.

Kind hearted anon is giving them the benefit of the doubt. :')
I think the gender expression thing is a sign of what they want to do
>mexican trans mermaid
I don't think Moore's involved in this one. Right?
I mean, at least is not Disney wanting to do this and him changing "her name" to Ariel and making it a little mermaid prequel
Yeah but Disney's already raping/raped all their animated movies anyway.
CS gave us one of the best trilogies in animated media already, and after how mid My Father's Dragon was, and the awards snubbing, yeah i feel we're entering their dark age...
Remember when mermaids weren't co-opted by transgenders?
I can't believe that new Dreamworks movie is secretly based.
It's over for cartoon saloon
They are working for Disney, they betrayed their origins, it's over.
>What will be worse, this or pic related
That I think will be pretty straight forward simple story
This one who knows.
Yeah, and judging from how Dreamworks' last two films were I think this won't be any bad. At the same time, I can't really say for certain too though.
Will he get boobs at the end.
Some puffer fish implants?
>friendly reminder kids! you can only like stereotypical manly things if you are boy, otherwise you are a girl!
this is just propaganda
It's okay I wanted to see what the French would have done with the same material
I'm sure if they start to lose money and their work starts bombing, they might try to go back to what worked and make another Irish folklore movie again.
I think they were getting handouts to make those movies. Not that I don't believe that they didn't have good intentions.
are their movies good?
hey i have that collection, neat.
I just want Wolfwalkers in a normal ass blu ray case is that too much to ask?
Any particular reason?
So it fits in on my shelf.
get a bigger shelf
