soulful. smartphones ruined the world. anyone born after 2007-2012 is posthuman and not in a good way
>anyone born after 2007-2012
*1999 onwards
*1996 onwards
Can't disagree. Children psychologically depending on having a smartphone in their hands now It's literally all that matter. And their worth as human beings at school is judged by who has the most expensive one.
>family photo
this is a baby boomer setup
And many MIllennials are the children of baby boomers and so were raised in households with boomer sensibilities. Both my parents were boomers, and my family room looked very similar to OP's pic. My dad had a laserdisc player, a VCR with two tape decks so he could illegally copy rented movies and his own recorded TV programs to give them to people, and a CD player with a full audio mixer attached to it.
inaccurate. We live in pods, consoom troony cartoons (anime), and play videogames
Have hipster zoomers started trying to obtain CRT televisions and VCRs yet?
Yeah but just weird girls.
She's cute, but a bit of a pickme, you know?
Judging from thumbnails she does not dress like a prostitute, has no visible tattoos or piercings, and is not fat. Let her be a little weird. Not like we're normal.
I both find this girl adorable and hate her simultaneously.
why is she talking into the listening end?
She looks like that French actress who gets memed here
True, apparently there are girls who are into old technology
Those are the same girls btw who are still obsessed with hello kitty or whatever in their 20's a la "im so le quirky".
>CRT televisions
These have been in huge demand by the fighting game community because there's ectremely low latency and input lag compared to LCD, LED, or plasma TVs.
only the Sony trinitrons really, or medical grade/specialized CRTs. Traditional old tube crts are worth nothing at all and you can get them basically free
this
phones and internet were the pandora box
That's a Gen X living room right here.
i don't even want to go back anymore. i just want to die.
better than zoomers ever will
Someone does not have a flat screen inch 4k tv
>but is it curved?
>does it have built-in ai remastering?
>can it spray water up your ass after you take a shit?
Isn't it all just so tiresome chasing the next fad that they try to convince you is absolutely necessary, anon?
It's ok to admit that kino peaked soulwise with big bulky crts and vhs/dvd
you only like those because of nostalgia unless you're some sort of underage hipster homosexual doing all that fauxstalgia stuff
The human eye cannot even perceive anything above 720p
Everyone sat together in a big room. It was called the "living room" because the family would relax, talk to each other, or watch tv/play video games with each other. You didn't have to talk, of course, you could just hang out on the couch and rest.
in my time, it was called the parlor
That really is a more soulful word.
good times we were playing on our Nintendo together or watching classic Disney movies like aristocats
This. Millennials just lived in their gooncaves instead of connecting with their family and friends.
we spent most of our time outside playing with friends
R8 my battle station
>blades of steel
11/10
cheers
I remember cheats for it and fighting
>blades of steel
Majority of people I've met enjoy Ice Hockey more but like you I'm team blades of steel. That halftime mini game on the jumbo-tron is pure soul.
>No snes
Medorice.
Why is your ps1 so fricking high up, it should be on the floor. If someone trips on one of the cables its gong flying.
im sad I didnt keep my ps1 instead I kept the n64 which is a fricking meme console
>smirnoff ice
what led to this being your drink of choice?
most people start with beer and go to liquor if they drink a lot
what leads a man to start drinking flavored malt beverages?
based if those are just the old games you still have from childhood and buy flashcarts if you want to play more
gigacringe if you're actually collecting games in the box on purpose
Comfy/10. I dig it.
For me it's Mutant League Hockey
are phillips tvs good?
im tempted to buy a trinitron or panasonic cause im racist and like japanese shit but shit is so exepensive. are orion good at all or am i just bieng a tard worried about "le best quality tv".
we had lat 70s tvs when were were kids playing n64, snes and nes.
Yamaha and Mitsubishi both made 480p tube TVs with the best color contrast and resolution ever offered for TV, but they were expensive, very few could afford them, and so very few are around today.
do you know if i can play rca games through my vcr if my tv only has the rf and no RCA connections
Can't wait till we get brain chips and gen aleph is asking how zoomers lived with screens
No social media. So they maybe had 1 or 2 friends with a super nice set up to embarrass them and they didn't think much of it. They just thought "oh my friends rich"
I am a zoomer technically and lived like this. in my head the tv experience is the same as it is now besides having to rent stuff. I never thought it looked bad or was hard to use
as oppose to what?
for this setup you need to OWN your media. which is incredibly based.
nowadays the children just share their spotify recap XD
Gen X* what you pictured was a bog standard living room in the 90s/early 00s. Millennials lived like that because they were kids and didn't have to pay for any of it.
My dad told me that PS1 was his console back when he was a kid. I tried it and it was terrible
I miss when my parents weren't divorced
Comfortably.
Fricking soul and it's simple, simple as.
Meanwhile I bought a new """smart""" tv and it's fricking atrocious, ugly design and so many unnecessary features I wonder why the frick are they there.
that's just generic old living room. nothing to do with millenials specifically. everyone from "boomers" to "zoomers" lived that. only gen a hasn't lived that specific old living room stage. except maybe in some of the poorest countries who knows
How ESL speak like this?
Lol cry more
That's a picture of millennial childhood.
>t. zoomie who is subscribed to 50 different streaming services
i miss 4:3
I don't. Clipped movies formatted for TV can stay in the distant past.
cozily
I despise the mounted flat-screen look so god damn much
