Maybe in the big LA studios and boutique studios whose founders or recruiters are more outspoken online? A lot of other studios (especially abroad) don't care that much for that. Usually they see your portfolio, or resume, see that you fit the role they are looking for, and hire you based on that. If you deliver what they need, they won't care and keep on employing you since you are reliable.
But I agree, the industry is surprisingly small. Going around being a prick can bite you in the ass.
