How the frick did a fricking FAN FILM manage to do a better Obi-Wan vs Darth Vader fight than a multi-billion dollar company like Disney?

How the frick did a fricking FAN FILM manage to do a better Obi-Wan vs Darth Vader fight than a multi-billion dollar company like Disney?

The fight scene in episode 3 of the Obi-Wan show was complete garbage. Garbage soundtrack, garbage choreography, no weight to the encounter at all.

because the shit you're shilling is a reimagining of an already existing scene, autist

The fan edit is 10/10, because it was made by someone who cared, not by a low IQ hire that they got for his wokism

Because the Obi-wan show is propaganda. Not designed to be entertaining or good.

That was fricking shit as well and failed to get why both Obi Wan and Vader were using classical fencing rather than this overreactive choreography for ADD teenagers.

Because Obi Won hasn’t dueled anyone in 10 years and doesn’t have the same skill he had Episode 3 and Darth Vader is half machine. He can’t fight like he used too when he was Anakin. Both are nerfed due to age, disability, and loss of practice.

    >Obi-Wan in rebels is confident and manages to easily kill Darth Maul
    >Obi-Wan in ANH is confident and easily cuts off thugs hand at the cantina
    >Obi-Wan in ANH confidently confronts vader and even has smug face before he throws the fight to Vader
    >Obi-Wan in Obi-Wan show is cucked hard and has a perpetual scared look on his face and never uses his lightsaber.

They cucked him hard in his own fricking show

Because Kenobi in his own show is still upset and traumatized after Revenge of the Sith, obviously by the end of the show he'll believe again, probably after a pep talk from Quigon (disney wars loves its final episode cameos)

He didn't look very traumatized. From the clip I saw of their fight it looks like the show is doing the thing again of making Darth Vader something Obi Wan fears because of his reputation to the fans and not Obi Wan himself. That Obi Wan would shit his pants and be helpless before Anakin is something the show created, he's not like that at the end of the Revenge of the Sith or in A New Hope.

Disney Star Wars doesn't care about characters from the originals. Obi Wan is in Kenobi to elevate Leia. he's a sad bumbling idiot to enhance kid Leia's awesomeness.

          >That Obi Wan would shit his pants and be helpless before Anakin is something the show created
This. I don't mind him suffering mentally seeing Anakin in that state or just in general during the show but he should still have kept up his training and hold his own when shit goes down.

I'm glad they ignored that aspect of the prequels. Those movies were terrible.

Obi Wan wasn't traumatized or disillusioned at the end of Episode III. He looks on at Luke knowing what must be done, sacrificing his freedom and the current fight to secure a better future later on. How could he properly train Luke in the force if 1. he doesn't even believe in himself anymore 2. barely remembers how to use the force, and what he does remember is weak and 3. is full of dread and lack of hope.

the morons arguing with you haven’t watched the show or are genuine morons who don’t understand delayed gratification and just want capeshit cgi fights. btw, this is coming from someone who hates disney star wars to the point where I even think mando is shit. but in this obi is clearly going through a recapturing his mojo arc and they wanted to show how powerful vader was by having the weakened obi job. it was effective at showing the threat that vader is and it was satisfying to see him toy with a terrified obi wan. it’s the only thing so far I would call good in this series, even if the fact vader let him go was moronic. if you seriously wanted a prequel level fight for 10 minutes out of nowhere in their first confrontation you are legit stupid

The idea being that someone would definitely see him levitating stuff and saber fighting so he has to hide all signs of being a jedi or he risks bringing the empire down on him and luke

Ben's hut was about 100 miles away from Luke's house, which was the closest house to him and even further away from any cities where the empire would be (Imperial presence on Tatooine was already minimal since it's an outer rim planet with no resources). In the EU, his house is full of Jedi artifacts, books, etc. Luke built his lightsaber in RoTJ from the stuff left there. What you're saying/what disney came up with is bullshit and contrary to the first movie.

the showrunners don't give a frick about what the IP is or the characters that inhabit that universe.
that probably aren't all that familiar with the IP.

they use the IP as a vehicle to tell their stories and that's all. they demolish established fan favorite character to elevate their characters.
Luke was demolished to elevate Rey
Obi Wan is being demolished to elevate Leia, who isn't OT Leia but sequels flying through space Leia.
you know they're going to spin this flotsam off into a Leia tween series.

Though the choreography in the original is stiff and could be improved on, it's slow for a reason. This ejects all the cinematic inspiration Lucas got from samurai films and holds little identity of its own. There's no consistency in the shot choices; the shaky cam especially doesn't sit right.

Watch this to understand what Lucas was going for.

Star Wars is nothing but Greek mythology and western philosophy (with a lot of Nietzsche thrown in). Without those elements, you get Solo, a very mediocre and generic Sci-Fi movie.
