In christianity, lesser gods are canon, they're just not seen as remotely on par with the one true God but rather as demonic entities that are not worthy of worship. So pretty much exactly like the "gods" Steve would have met.

Except if you can literally change the fabric of the universe like killing half of all life that exists in the universe or going back in time to change the present and "God" doesn't stop you then he doesn't exist.

No, you're just moronic. "Because god let thing happen, he doesn't exist." is really fricking stupid.

God is canon in the Marvel universe anyways. He shows up multiple times in the comics.

God is canon, but so is every other god. There's Roman gods, Norse gods, Greek gods, I think even Gilgamesh is canon to the Marvel pantheon. Marvel has been going on for so long now with so many writers that what's "canon" and what isn't is always going to be muddled because there's no consistency.

god isn't a person, but a force of creation. God doesn't have human emotions or ambitions. The Bible wasn't written by god, it was written by men trying to make sense of god. Again, atheists have the utmost childish idea of what god is. Do you actually think christians believe god is some old bearded man sitting on a cloud or something?

I agree with you, but let’s be honest a lot of Christians do think that God is an actual person who intervenes in daily events. And atheists are right to call that moronic. But I’m with you that it’s also equally childish to assume everyone views God this way and make most of their arguments based around that strawman.

The entire old testament is about god creating man in his own image (a person, wowee) and intervening every 2 minutes when someone does something stupid.

                Anonymous

Yes, and? The old Testament is a collection of religious stories written down by a tribe of people who lived in a very harsh, war torn environment, it's not a factual account of god. The old testament god is still the local lighting god Yahveh that they used to worship in that area and not yet the benevolent, omnipotent creator he would become in the new testament.

Jesus was the son of god. Just like we all are the children of god. Christianity is based on a misinterpretation of his words. Whether that misinterpretation was intentional or accidental is up for debate.

                Condemn the Talmund

                Anonymous

You condemn the old testament? That's not very christian of you, especially considering Jesus explicitly said he didn't come to destroy the old texts but rather to teach them.

No…no they are not. There are no other lesser gods in Christian canon.

I said they weren't seen as gods but rather as demonic entities, but the Bible never states that they aren't real. Demons are very much canon in christianity and God punishes the israelites all the time for worshipping Baal and in exodus, the egyptian priests derive power to do lesser miracles from their false gods.

Weird how you're a le heckin atheist who is so confident declaring Jesus isn't God yet you wont condemn the religious globadyasiatic that is the Talmund huh?

I'm not an atheist, I believe in god. I just don't think Jesus is god. As I told you, I have never read the Talmund, so I have no idea what within the Talmund would be worthy of my condemnation and I can't just condemn something without knowing what it is I am condemning.

If you can't provide an example of what I should be condemning about the Talmund, doesn't that expose you?

Why are you so obsessed with some text you never even read? I simply asked you to provide me with some example of what you think is so worthy of condemnation about the Talmund because I myself haven't read it either. Yet apparently you can't seem to do that. I mean, it really shouldn't be that hard, it's an abrahamic religious text, so it must be full of dumb shit.

the real moron move is focusing on what people say they believe rather than what their beliefs make them act like. taking people who say they believe in god seriously is like taking the person punching you in the face seriously when he says it's for your own good. they're both just making up shit to justify their actions. christians just started acting in ways that benefited them, but they can't explain why those things work, so when an answer is demanded they just go "because god". same reason they dreamt up heaven. why should you care about what happens after you die, even if you're a selfish moron? because heaven&hell. why should you care about being an evil shit if nobody finds out? because god will find out. etc.
then the autheists come along and they're like, lmao, god isn't real. and that means we can do whatever we want. and then they started doing whatever they wanted and it killed like a hundred million people in just a couple of generations and we're still dealing with the after effects literally choking our societies to death right now because lmao who cares about the future so let's stop having kids and just have gay sex and do drugs because there's no conceptual downside to not being driven purely by hedonism

Same way they do it now, denial and ignorance. The world back then was just a bunch of illiterate desert people. They had no idea of american natives or japan or whatever, they didn't know there are a gazillion star systems or that the earth is 4bi old, and yet some people still think selling camels and butt stuff are God's concerns.

In MCU, Thanos destroys half of "creation" and God does nothing? Puny God.

Abrahamic religions had obviously man-made rules intervoven with their spiritual teachings in an effort to forge a better, healthier society. Some may seem archaic and outdated now, but considering even today with our current level of medicine and hygiene, doing "butt stuff" spreads diseases and STDs like literally nothing else, imagine just how bad it was during the bronze age. It was a very sensible thing to want to discourage people from activities that would spread diseases like wildfire.
