It would work best as an animated short of someone falling into the backrooms and losing their grip on reality; could get experimental with it.
Also, none of the later monster/levels shit zoomers added to the concept, just keep it simple.
>Infinity Train
No? They're almost completely opposite, you're never gonna see the same thing twice with the Infinity Train with each car being a new world while the backrooms has nothing but the same walls and floor for miles. They only thing they share is being infinite.
>the backrooms has nothing but the same walls and floor for miles
Oh, you didn't read the Expanded Cut, did you?

>Couldn’t Infinity Train technically be considered close enough to that?
It hits a lot of the same spots, but there differences may be wide enough to make it too different to be enjoyed as a de facto "Backrooms" story. There is actually a point to the Infinity Train, which is in contrast to the mystery of the Backrooms and it's arguably not infinite (though arguably very long at least.), because there is a known end and beginning to the train.
>Infinity Train
No? They're almost completely opposite, you're never gonna see the same thing twice with the Infinity Train with each car being a new world while the backrooms has nothing but the same walls and floor for miles. They only thing they share is being infinite.
They're different but they are still similar. This may be problematic because there is no one true "canon" to the Backrooms. Even the original image is so vague that you can easily imagine there being other aspects existing. It's a common addition to think that there exists multiple "levels" to the Backrooms, different places with their theme and creatures. Even Kane Pixels's series, while not fully utilizing the "level" idea, still have different sections aside from the yellow outlet rooms existing within the dimension, and it's probably the most well-liked version of the Backrooms aside from maybe the "idea" of the original image. You can always come to a previous train car. It's not a rule within the Infinity Train that one person can't return to a train car they were before, even if it may interfere with them coming back to the original world. Plus, as stated before, the Infinity Train is probably not actually infinite.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought of Infinity Train. At least one of the train cars on there probably basically is the backrooms. Also the desert area outside of the train kinda holds a few similarities, maybe.
It could work as an X-Files-ish cartoon that focuses on the disappearances of people when entering the backroom of building rather than DUDE THERE'S MONSTERS HERE or GUYS THE GOVERMENT IS MAKING A PORTAL TO ANOTHER world.
Most zoomers are timid homosexuals that can't go a minute without hearing sounds. They won't live to 40.
It's almost like people are social creatures. Event he most isolated of hermits, are at least surrounded by the sounds of nature.
I live in a fricking quite field in the middle of bumfrick Texas where there is hardly anything around, and only on random occasions I will hear 18 wheeler trucks pass by. I lived in quietness for 25+ years and prefer it this way than say being in the middle of fricking New York City.
Because unlike 1/3 of the internet, he understood the concept of the Backrooms and didn't try to turn it into some weird LARP with "civilizations" and "levels" and whatever the frick "almond water" is.
He kept pretty close to the original idea of the Backrooms
I hate that zoomers ruined this aesthetic. Some quiet, slow paced, and interesting mystery horror thing with liminal space bgs would've been way better than this stupid "oh no an empty room with a scary monster" bs.
>Over the Garden Walls: Backroom edition
The real answer is you can't. The entire horror of the backrooms is just being stuck alone in a infinite room by yourself. Basically solitary confinement, but yellow.
I fricking despise how a bunch of internet hacks made the backrooms into just another bootleg scp survival horror trash. Just take a look at any of the backrooms all levels explained videos to see how butchered and flanderized the idea became by "creative" morons missing the point so hard and trying to stuff all their shitty donut steel OCs into it. The horror was the emptiness and the wandering not sure if you are going crazy or you actually feel like your being followed. Its all psychological horror. Not some zoomer brainfried jumpscare-fest with wacky monsters with specific ways to get over their esoteric and zany powers.
Someone definitely saw the potential for making money off it and decided that they could milk it longtime if they came up with some lore out of nothing.
I agree. Especially the ones that are like >Oh once you get to level 15 you hit the suburban area >Level 20 has a survival group where you can group up with other members >There's water in the backrooms you can drink
That isn't the backrooms anymore, this is a concept for a walking sim horror videogame.
I really can't wait for this shitty analog "horror" trend to die off, almost none of it is good. And no, "le spooky wire monster" is not one of the good ones.
The Backrooms is not analog horror. Kane Pixels used an analog aesthetic for his video to hide how obviously fake his cgi would look without it. Everyone else just copied him. The Backrooms is explicitly digital.
A cartoon could never make the Backrooms work, it needs to look real.
The Complex is probably the best iteration of the Backrooms ever made, even better than Kane Parsons' version purely because his monster designs are dumb.
His work remains unsullied. A simple, eerie concept. Ambiguous and foreboding. Whether any particular Backrooms media is good is up to its creator; his hands are clean.
Have it be like PT or the Silent Hills trailer where it's in first person and someone going through room to room with horror imagery as they try to escape. Don't have it filled with jumpscares, but monsters are okay as long as it's not the only scare.
Like this giant human creature crawling towards someone down the hall and the only escape is in a darker basement. The landscapes can get more surreal and the layouts can get more confusing. Really appeal to that, "I had to pause and see the ghost in the background" crowd that generates lots of online sharing in a fandom. Keep it as 6-minute shorts and release them periodically on an official YT channel of whatever studio is making it-- Adult Swim would probably be best.
Also, when the series finishes airing, release it as a VR "game" (aka, walking sim) for like, $5. Make some extra profit off of that shit. Since you can just re-use the entire 3D area and events, all you have to do in program in some game state failures.
Just have the whole show be like watching someone play an actual horror game with no commentary.
weed eater
bruh
now THAT'S funny
People under 20 years of age won't get the joke.

Couldn’t Infinity Train technically be considered close enough to that?
I think an anthology would be the best way to go about it, have various different groups going about the different rooms and dealing with it as such.

Minimalism is it's own form of horror.
A simple short. Nothing too big.
if your upbringing was so sheletered that you're legitimately frightened by an empty room, yoouuuuuu might be a zoomer
IS THAT...A SLIGHTLY DULL LOOKING ROOM WITHOUT PEOPLE?!?! AAAAH KANE PIXELS PLEASE SAVE ME!
have a nice day

Kane Pixels Backrooms series is the only good Backrooms content.
How can a seventeen year old manage what like, a third of the internet couldn't?
It's just a little skill and a good idea.
The good kind of autism
vague talent in blender and ripping off SCPs

>He kept pretty close to the original idea of the Backrooms
He threw in creeptpasta monsters when the pasta was just going insane.
No, this is a meme started by contrarians. The original fricking post mentioned there was something in here with you.
It already exists, it is called Infinity Train.
It was shit
it wouldn't
House of leaves walked so the Backrooms could run. Real shame the backrooms will ultimately be more popular though.
something like this
IS THAT A HECCIN LIMINAL SPACE?!
The liminal space the rest of them wish they were, yes.
A lot like this, I would imagine
Has the location of this picture was already found or is still a mystery?
I hate that zoomers ruined this aesthetic. Some quiet, slow paced, and interesting mystery horror thing with liminal space bgs would've been way better than this stupid "oh no an empty room with a scary monster" bs.
It wouldn't. It needs to look real for the uncanniness to work.

The SCP fandom needs to wiped from the planet.

I wonder if the anon/s who made the post about the backrooms initially is kicking themselves over not being able to capitalize on it.
I'm sure that anon is happy enough to not have to deal with an insufferable zoomer fanbase
Frick that shit, I'd deal with them if it meant getting paid for the low low cost of a brief creative writing post on a mango forum.
It's not his fault SCP kiddies are morons.
