Lens flare
Fast paced and very quippy
Doesn't care much for substance, originality and lore, more in favor of giving dopamine bursts of nostalgic joy and/or catching the audience attention (StarKiller Base and destruction of the New Republic makes no real sense, and same in regards to lightspeed skipping, but the epitomize nostalgic mining and trying to catch the low attention spans of modern audiences)
How did he become so high profile and powerful? His CV is utter dogshit. His best movie is probably Super 8 which is probably a 6 at best and just rips off various much better movies.
He's quintessentially postmodern in the way he's simply good at copying superficial elements of let's say .. Spielberg.
But the depth is simply not there.
He does know that so to cover for it he makes everyone run around constantly like it's an amusement park ride. Everyone talks fast, moves fast, rushing from one situation to another to trick the viewer into being engaged in the movie, when there is little of substance going on at all.
For that reason he's great at creating a product that is engaging in the moment, but instantly forgotten once it ends.
Some of the best parts of old school blockbuster movies/series (which he tries to imitate or do soft reboots) are the slow parts where characters and the world are given time to breathe and have depth. I think Trek is too cheesy, but its stunning why Abrams did the soft reboots considering his style is contrary to the slow idea based style of the series. And he considers Trek too philosophical for him.

I wouldn't
Very israeli
las vegas magic show
fast paced hunt for the mystery box
The same way I'd describe his daughter
"Desperate", "Attention seeking", "Indecent", "Shallow"
whorish? cheap? generic? trashy? israeli? capitalist?
His daughter is perfect
For his action scenes he likes to have his actors talking about inane bullshit to create tension
>I loved it. It was everything I hoped it would be.

Flashy Slop
I think he's the best mimic working in Hollywood right now, but he struggles to express his own style.

he’s a nepo baby isn’t that shocking
his israeli dad was a hollywood producer
>his israeli dad was a hollywood producer
So was his mother though I'm not sure if she was also israeli. Probably.
He's an autistic savant; he can mimic very well, but is incapable of creating anything that is original and of substance.
>he can mimic very well
I don't even think that he does that well.

Bad
Mediocre
Is Super 8 worth a watch?
Skinwalker
Just watch any Spielberg movie instead
it’s his worst
Not when Rise of Skywalker is on his resume
lmao at up for watching that
i never even watched tlj
It's okay but you'd be better off just watching E.T., Goonies, Close Encounters, Stand By Me or any of the movies it rips off.
I think so. I like that movie.
Dishonest.
His best work was producing 11.22.63 starring Sarah Gadon
Reminder he made 250 million dollars without making a single movie for WB
Every movie studio should be paying him not to make movies.
he gives me Micheal Bay vibes
Lol,he's imitating Baykino, but it's not even close..
Joy Ride, Super 8, and MI3 are solid movies. His Star Wars/Star Trek movies are terrible, though. Pure nostalgia-pandering.
He's alright when he has something original to work with, but he cannot adapt other peoples' works.
Larp y Spielberg wannabe
