If you absolutely twisted my arm and filled my pockets with cash, I'd do an 8 episode series of interrelated stories in a fallout setting, not one that's been used in the games, and co-develop it with Bethesda with a new game based in the new setting taking place after the series.
this. I would watch a limited run series based in the fallout universe with every episode being different. If they attempted to make it linear, it would just be a jumbled mess.

Episode 2: Ghost Town Gunfight, a resident's perspective.
Episode 3: Nipton during the Legion lottery, before the game starts, a resident's perspective.
Episode 4: Boone killing his wife, before the game starts.
Episode 5: Veronica scavenging, before the game starts.
Episode 6: Cass' caravan, before the game starts.
So on and so forth.
