I never personally asked how they tried to make her apart of the Bat Family since post-crisis even though the reboot was to remove her as apart of the family but all her stories have to tie to Batman, I always felt she should be more of her own thing, only showing up here and there in Batman stuff.
Don't forget she's a sex addict that turned to celibacy after having sex with some random loser. She also had a threesome with Hal and Lady Blackhawk and that pissed off Gail Simone.
>She also had a threesome with Hal and Lady Blackhawk and that pissed off Gail Simone.
That should annoy any true Hal Jordan fan as well, they're far too old for his tastes. It needed to be retconned.
It's pretty low I think actually when you compare him to some others, or at least you'd think it would be higher. What is funny is that I think after he hooked up with Huntress the first time he brought her flowers hoping for a relationship but she shut him down.
Not really, Dick being a whore is a fandom misconception
This chart is at least 10 years out of date but Dick’s doesn’t look too different
Agent 8, Defacer, and Bea are the only new additions and two of those were committed relationships
>Mary Willis
Are we really going to pretend that Dick didn't fuck that batshit crazy stalker girl at least once before unmasking her in front of the press?
No.
It was retconned that Dick fucked Babs the night he told her that he and Starfire were getting married.
Then long After Dick and Starfire broke up due to complications, Huntress and Dick fucked, but it was during the time Babs was trying to get out of the friendzone.
That’s why Babs was mad.
A few creators around this era , most notably Alan Grant, said editorial was a mess in this era- since all of Dennis O'Neil's assistants had basically taken over and had their own little in-fights and opinions on what should happen. I wonder if this is an example of that- some editor being all in on Dick/Helena and letting it skirt by despite Dixon's slow burn(I know some people say it was too slow a burn, but it was getting attention) with Dick and Babs.
First time I found out who Huntress was, is in a Robin book, I think it was the one with that Deathangel character, what wasted design, his design so cool and the character himself kinda sucks, I bring this dude back and make him a villain worth a damn just for that design.
>which unironically made him look better than fucking tim wearing it
suit yourself, always thought it looked bland compared to the comic version with the bands on the sleeves/gloves and the ninja toes.
Tom Grummet and Mike Wieringo especially drew it well.
There are now two versions of Helena Bertinelli. The original white version that DC continues to use for licensing and merchandise purposes, and the variably black or brown version in the comics that they're stuck with and can't change for as long as social media mobs getting angry about comics they don't read continue to be a thing.
>The original white version that DC continues to use for licensing and merchandise purposes
I always found it weird how DC had the perfect chance with the Birds of Prey movie to fully establish Helena having dark skin, but they chose to darken Black Canary instead.
a) Even the DC movies know the comics damn well ruined Huntress by doing that, and didn't want to repeat the same mistake
b) Black Canary literally has the word "black" in her name so they were obliged to make her black.
a) Even the DC movies know the comics damn well ruined Huntress by doing that, and didn't want to repeat the same mistake
b) Black Canary literally has the word "black" in her name so they were obliged to make her black.
while double black canary wasn't great, MEW Huntress was honestly much worse. She was a plank in that movie. She had none of that Italian girl "I will fucking FIGHT you" energy.
They turned Bertinelli into a brown spy because her original Huntress design went to Helena Wayne. It's kind of ironic, Bertinelli had essentially taken over Wayne's alter ego after the crisis much to the anger of her fans, and now Wayne has in turn stolen Bertinelli's Huntress because one of those Wayne fans grew up to be a comic book writer.
Well, not exactly- Paul Levitz created the Huntress originally and then erased the Bertinelli identity in the new 52 Huntress series when it seemed they were doing away with her on the main earth. Not that he had any hard feelings towards Bertinelli- he was the same one who had her made in the first place(though mostly as a favor to the writer and artist who were going to work on a Helena wayne series- he just let them remake her separate from Bruce and Selina)
I liked it a lot. Batman has to deal with a bunch of international assassins paid by the mob while fending off a Predator. Paul Gulacy is not to everyone’s liking. I personally love his art
>be mostly covered up >fags on reddit/twitter still bitch about her midriff being partially exposed
Sometimes I wish you could slap people through the internet.
Don’t know why some people don’t like acknowledging her as a Batgirl. While never called that in the books, virtually every single official DC encyclopedia credited Helena as picking up the mantle.
I don't like it cause it's not really what she was going for, she wanted to be Batman- which was a big deal because at the time they were all-in on Batman being an urban legend few had actually seen in person. Just slotting her into Batgirl because she's a batsuit wearing girl seems silly. Yes,I know Cass got the costume and became Batgirl right after I always thought that wasn't really fitting either, the costume just doesn't look like a Batgirl
>Just slotting her into Batgirl because she's a batsuit wearing girl seems silly.
To be fair, even though it was only added to the story later on, Helena did technically start with a more standard Batgirl suit.
>I always thought that wasn't really fitting either, the costume just doesn't look like a Batgirl
Wholeheartedly agree with this. Never been much of a fan of Cass’ Batgirl suit.
That costume is unironically my second favorite "Batgirl" suit, really(though I still stand by thinking it's cooler if she's just literally "The Bat")
I don't hate the Cass Batgirl costume, it's just too intentionally different from the classic one.
Was it? If it was, it sure felt stretched out, ohow many issues? It's hard to find a comprehensive list that specifies how many were as Batgirl exactly

I don't think anyone's trying to bury her time as Batgirl; it's just a drop in the bucket compared to her time as Huntress; and Steph didn't have to share her visual design with another character. The difference is also Helena already had solo books and titles for a decade before being a Bat, where as Steph's profile got raised a hundred times over by being Robin.
And it's not like being Batgirl would've raised her profile in the same way Steph being Robin/Batgirl raised her. She's got live action(though not great) appearances, animated versions, toys, merch, literal $600 dollar statues, all as the Huntress. Hell, not being Batgirl is the exact reason she got to be on JLU(Bat embargo days)
official DC encyclopedia were smoking some crack. Though I will admit that Helena has some of the same claim to Batgirl that Steph does for Robin. Though Steph at least was Robin in the Robin series for three issues. Helena was never Batgirl in a Batgirl series.
Does she have any/many interactions with Jason? I've thought for a while they'd make a good duo book given their proclivity to ultra violence for criminals.

And then she was pretty much the deuteragonist of Tamaki's Detective Comics starting at #1034 which... is probably her best DC work but it's still heavily decompressed and mediocre.
You can just start with her 1989 solo series. Then the robin team up (Robin/Huntress cry of the Huntress), No Man's Land in general, if you're ok with reading a giant arc- or just skip to Batman/Huntress Cry for Blood. That's a decent primer.

Thanks anon, I'll check it out! I think tis tpb 3 (neigborhood) and 4 + 5 as well? I think I saw Helena and Steph somewhere when skimming through the latter two.
Wasn't this the era before they got back together in Rebirth? When they never had been a couple before?
Dinah was just going through dicks to find the one that was taken from her. Once she got back Ollie she calmed down.

I dunno why I'm surprised, but Lemire Hawkeye keeps finding new ways for me to hate it.
That costume looks incredibly lewd when combined with civilian clothes

It's pretty low I think actually when you compare him to some others, or at least you'd think it would be higher. What is funny is that I think after he hooked up with Huntress the first time he brought her flowers hoping for a relationship but she shut him down.
No, she's still around. They've reworked the Wayne daughter Huntress like 3 times in 10 years(Earth 2, The Tom King story where she's a lesbian, and now the recent Johns stuff) Bertinelli sticks around, though they've made her more tan(sometimes more tan than she used to be in the 90's) which is vaguely meant to make her more ethnic looking(one writer said she was meant to be half-black but that's never been confirmed in canon).
Well, the image is from a 2021 article, so they were definitely pushing that direction until at least the beginning of Infinite Frontier. It does seem that they must have been pulling back though, considering how many times they’ve been lightening her skin up at times, with this year’s summer special outright just giving Helena light skin again.
Extremely funny how they’ve been making Helena B lighter and lighter and Janin comes in and Helena W is basically drawn and colored like how Helena B was in Janin’s Grayson so she’s darker than Helena B despite having two lily white parents.
Me too.
I bet she has a big hairy bush and a puffy vagina.
Italian girls are hairy. I bet she waxes.
She could be as rotten and syphilitic as Al Capone and I'd still thank her for the opportunity.
Would have been funny if they had her pubes stick out of her hot pants haha
Why are her tits floating up instead of down?
Every female superhero in DC and Marvel has a secret super power.
Their titties can defy gravity.
They're in mid bounce.
The midriff is hot but I always prefer this look, give her a slight tan and make the hair fluffy and long and perfect.
This costume was peak indeed. Love how the purple bands went over her breasts. Now I'm a zentai-chad
I don't know why but even as a kid I noticed, her boobs almost always drawn bigger in that outfit and got smaller when she switched.
Huntress teach simson
Why is Lizza'qua and Ralph in the same classroom as Nelson, Bart and Milhouse reeeee
They already ate the rest of students.
D-did they "My wife's daughter" Lisa?
I'll never forget the action figure I had of her as a kid.
She's got quite a few high-end figures as well.
>we will never have a Huntress/Question show in the JLU art style
JLU was so good to her it's kinda amazing.
If this was made in 2023 she'd be all covered up in tactical gear, which isn't necessarily bad but annoying.

She should become a Nun and change her name to the Nuntress

Remember that one story that implied that she was raped as a kid.
>Brat corrected
It was hilarious how she just happened to fuck Dick first and Babs held that against her for years
She should cuck Babs more
Dick is such a whore. His body count has to be nearing triple digits at this point.
It's pretty low I think actually when you compare him to some others, or at least you'd think it would be higher. What is funny is that I think after he hooked up with Huntress the first time he brought her flowers hoping for a relationship but she shut him down.
Well remember if a female has a body count higher than one (you) its too much so. Fair standards and all.
It's barely in the double digits, Anon.
Wolfman Statutory Rape Girl, Starfire, Mirage, Fake Marriage Girl (maybe), Huntress, Batgirl, Tarantula, OYL Redhead, Tomasi Run Blonde (maybe), Nu52 Redhead, Spyral Blonde, Defacer, Ric Era Girl....
Did I miss anyone? It's 11 on panel and 2 left ambiguous.
Most ''sex'' in big two comics barely exist so it's kinda up to you if they screwed or not.

I don't read modern big two.

He and Peter Parker are tied, but still losing to Stark and Bruce.

Why is Babs always fucking insane? Pre-Crisis version like only sane one.
Pre-crisis Babs was standard DC hero girl. Babs as a neurotic control freak is unironically better and fucking hot.
No.
It was retconned that Dick fucked Babs the night he told her that he and Starfire were getting married.
Then long After Dick and Starfire broke up due to complications, Huntress and Dick fucked, but it was during the time Babs was trying to get out of the friendzone.
That’s why Babs was mad.
Bro nobody actually considers that issue canon, because it doesn't make sense in that canon that already existed
How?
Remember when editors fucked up and had Dick kiss Helena in No Man's Land instead of Babs?
A few creators around this era , most notably Alan Grant, said editorial was a mess in this era- since all of Dennis O'Neil's assistants had basically taken over and had their own little in-fights and opinions on what should happen. I wonder if this is an example of that- some editor being all in on Dick/Helena and letting it skirt by despite Dixon's slow burn(I know some people say it was too slow a burn, but it was getting attention) with Dick and Babs.

Tom Grummet and Mike Wieringo especially drew it well.
Dixon did some really fun stuff with Tim and Helena. I especially liked the issue where he had to hide from her while watching a play in the park.
I dislike this team up, Dixon usually wrote Helena incompetent to make Tim look good.
They really had her be a big slut in the mid 00s.
It's sad that we'll never see this version of her again. They turned her brown and made her a spy or some shit.
>made her brown
so they finally made her italian
She’s Sicilian American. So she’s officially tanned now.
Not Black.
Not straight white.
Sicilian tanned American.

Wait that's not Jimmy...a Harley comic talks about Jimmy Olsen dating Helena lol but could be a different Helena.
This is pre-flashpoint, and she looks tanned here.
So I don’t see what
is bitching about.
Some colorists give her a tan, I remember.
I figure most people who complain about her being tan now were just used to her being lighter skinned in Hush and the JLU cartoon
Fucking casuals.
Besides, Helena Wayne is in JSA in current DC and can be their pasty Huntress.
Keep Bertinelli as the tanned queen she is.
Huntress is like Princess Daisy kek, sometimes a tan and sometimes not.
Does josh get laid here?
>be mostly covered up

DAMN!
That looks more like Helena Wayne not Helena Bertinelli.
Bertinelli's first costume was just Wayne's costume.
Yes, the much younger stepsister
Imagine having a teacher like this.
They’d call me Tripod Tim.
She could have been Batgirl too, but this outfit is just as hot
>could have
She was.
People go Steph booba this and Steph booba that, but Helena has ginormous bazonks.
Speaking of pairs, they did make a fun team up that one time. Would've been up for seeing that dynamic again.
Don’t know why some people don’t like acknowledging her as a Batgirl. While never called that in the books, virtually every single official DC encyclopedia credited Helena as picking up the mantle.
She wasn't approved by Barbara

Is her relatively recent appearance in Batman Detective Comics any good? (The Neigborhood) Where she gets infected by a kind of parasite?
It's easily the best DC thing Tamaki has written but that's not saying much.
Helena herself is fine in it.
Thanks anon, I'll check it out! I think tis tpb 3 (neigborhood) and 4 + 5 as well? I think I saw Helena and Steph somewhere when skimming through the latter two.
wow I was completely wrong it's 1-2-3 I think not 3-4-5.
She's used on and off for the entire Tamaki Tec run.
Top tier
They have a daughter in Dan Jurgens' Batman Beyond
What's Reed Richards doing there?
Oh good. The Higgins book had him get cucked by his adopted dad then incel-seethe for the next 40 years.
Is she a whore or not? You guys have not answered this
Which DC heroine isn't? Look Dinah, she had a gangbang with a bunch of strangers. And that's canon, thanks Azzarelo.
Wut?
so many cocks
Damn, wonder if Ollie knows...
Ollie is the last person who could complain about that
Wasn't this the era before they got back together in Rebirth? When they never had been a couple before?
Dinah was just going through dicks to find the one that was taken from her. Once she got back Ollie she calmed down.
True, without that particular ''arrow'' she was kind of aimless in that regard. Many such cases.
While I'm certain this is a misunderstanding of the scene's intent, that's actually kinda hot. Also, me on the right.
>Have your iconic female characters whore themselves out to random dudes
I shouldn't find this hot but...
Its kinda crazy how often it happens but I'm not mad at it.
I see it like how pornstars have those "fucking a fan" type videos, like they want male readers to think they'd have a realistic chance to hook up with the female character they're reading about
I dunno why I'm surprised, but Lemire Hawkeye keeps finding new ways for me to hate it.
Not to mention when she had sex with a teenager, Ray.
Damn, Dinah gets around a lot more than I thought she did.
And that is true, nor do I think he would be particularly shocked.
Will it surprise you if I say that she was fucking Ras before Simone?
On one hand it does not because its Dinah, on the other hand it does because how could she have thought that would end well?
When did that happen?
At this rate, all of N52 is non canon anymore outside Batman, Flash and Superman thanks to Johns and Snyder, and this made Lee and Diane Nelson mad.
That depends, do you mean the actual definition of whore (has sex for money) or the definition of slut (has sex with a lot of people)
Did Helena ever interact with JPV? Both are murder Catholics
I'd like to draw more of her. Any suggestions or requests?
Draw her as a Hot Teacher™, with her costume peeking underneath.
I had only time to complete this one.
Damn that's really good anon!
That costume looks incredibly lewd when combined with civilian clothes
>it's not even a full costume, helena was just wearing a bikini here
>with a belt and pouches, spraypainting her skin
Hot!
What does she teach?
French.
Are there oral exams?
Sex Ed
Her sucking off Tim
Draw her eating a cheeseburger.
Draw her on her knees praying in front of a big crucifix after a particularly hard night fighting mafia guys.
Put the MAfia guys on the cross
Huntress get ipad
Draw her bent over while Tim stares at her ass.
Tim is too queer for that
Huntress straddling Robin.
And squeezing his balls
Look here I came here for cheesecake and maybe even a little soft porn
You guys disappointing.
Is she “shelved” now that they have another huntress (Batman’s daughter)
Will they give her a new name ?
No, she's still around. They've reworked the Wayne daughter Huntress like 3 times in 10 years(Earth 2, The Tom King story where she's a lesbian, and now the recent Johns stuff) Bertinelli sticks around, though they've made her more tan(sometimes more tan than she used to be in the 90's) which is vaguely meant to make her more ethnic looking(one writer said she was meant to be half-black but that's never been confirmed in canon).
I wonder if they’d give one a different superhero name but Huntress is a pretty cool name so I doubt either one would give it up
The Johns future one will most likely in your a lesbian as well.
Further separating her from Helena Bertinelli
>that's never been confirmed in canon).
Don’t know if it was mentioned in the actual books, but DC definitely meant for New 52 Huntress to be black.
But it’s back to tanned post-Rebirth
Well, the image is from a 2021 article, so they were definitely pushing that direction until at least the beginning of Infinite Frontier. It does seem that they must have been pulling back though, considering how many times they’ve been lightening her skin up at times, with this year’s summer special outright just giving Helena light skin again.
>summer special >>>>>>>> Detective Comics
Extremely funny how they’ve been making Helena B lighter and lighter and Janin comes in and Helena W is basically drawn and colored like how Helena B was in Janin’s Grayson so she’s darker than Helena B despite having two lily white parents.
Helena Wayne bump
Kind of weird that they keep giving Wayne dark skin in this book.
As well. Very sad she's mostly absent these days.
Her and Babs being left off BoP is a crime.
Huntress is for faceless dick.
Do they do it with the mask on?
No but, Question keeps the orange socks on.
>Question agrees to remove mask
>Insists Huntress wears a blindfold
Bless you Timm, you transcendent coomer.
>mafia princess
Is that even a thing?
Not an official title, of course, but sometimes that's what the daughters of the capos are called (if they are young and attractve).
Did you post the wrong one? I see no Huntress here.
They did a great job giving each attack weight. Especially the grapples. Huntress's little combo string against WW is so good.
YEAH PURPLE. Cinemaphile'S FAVORITE COLOR!
Does she look that?
