i liked the first few seasons for the space/technology scenes and the non-earth colony environments.

Dawes was such an interesting character, and one of the few acted well. Even his Belter accent was fantastic, you could tell the actor had leant into it and given it a pronounced working-class strength. By comparison, Naomi always sounded like a middle-class person trying to emulate the accent forcedly.

I was always waiting for him to be taken down a peg at some point. It felt like that was what they were building to, with him being characterized as an overconfident privileged rich kid with unearned renown, but it never happened. Things just always fell into place for him.

the pajeet texan, the muscleheaded sociopath and the detective were all good. the main character fricking sucked ass and his ugly ass b***h was even worse. i think the show peaked at the grenade scene. That's when the show almost became something special, and then imploded instead.

Season 4 was considerably better than 5.
5 was bad, no use denying it.
6 wasn't great (better than 5) but felt more like an epilogue than a full season.
Syfy actually did great with the show, Amazon fricked it up.
5 was supposed to be the best and was based on the best book at the time, but turned out to be the worst season. That's what happens when you strip the source material of its exciting sub-plots and leave only the boring parts in.

To be fair I only said that for 5. I knew season 4 would have a quality drop and I never pretended otherwise. My hopes for 6 fell down the shitter after I saw 5, so I literally did nothing wrong.

I think they wrote "around" Cas, and rewrote a large chuck of the season.
The show focused very little on earth, but I would have thought Earth being bombarded by asteroids could have been more...compelling, than was shown. too much family drama in season 5. season 6 just felt like a "let's wrap this shit up and get out of here" type of season.
They booted Cas after finishing S5, they even had to quickly remove him from the final scenes in post processing. The reason they've barely shown the Earth is because they didn't want to focus on "disaster porn".

The show sputtered really around the time that Miller was killed off. Actually he does a pretty good job of carry Holden even as a space ghost or whatever the frick he was. But after season 4 it becomes unbearable.
