I hate people. I don't want to be around them, I don't want to look at them, I don't want to hear them. People only fight, they only cause pain and trauma to each other.

I'm convinced there's no good people in this world. You can do your best to be a good person, to try to help people, but they'll hate you for it; they'll hurt you for it. That's why there's no good people, because it doesn't get you anything. Victims are perpetrators and monsters are appeased. They look the other way when you're getting beaten down. It's absurd but that's the reality. You're alone and you have to watch out for yourself.

The only reason I can come post here is because no one can hurt me and mean words are just banter. This is the only place I've belonged. The outside world is hell. Life is hell, and this existence is hell.

Imagine life as an ent. Watching the seasons pass, resting undistributed in your forest.

Ents are an interesting look at male female domestic conflict in expectations, ents want freedom to pursue interest and to roam, the. Ent wives want to settle down, nest, garden and civilize.

Kinda funny Sauron and Melkor probably used them to breed trolls. Evil gave the entwives the stability the ents did not.

People are tribalistic. If you give them a set of cues that signal you are part of their tribe, then they will like you, it has nothing to do with morality. It is like sex, women sticking up for their abusive boyfriend, dudes who simp for some crazy bipolar chick who keeps cheating on them.

Also it is worth noting that being good means making a sacrifice, if it were to your benefit it would not be good, it would just be garden variety self-interest. However people do respect good people, they may not realize it right away. They key is to do things that are visibly good but which are at little expense, for example putting the carts back, cleaning up after yourself, small gifts on birthdays and cakes.

      >I'm convinced there's no good people in this world

I can convince you that you are not good, even though you may think you are, and that you are as tribalisc and individualistic as everyone else.

Pic related is the proof. I lose sleep and get angry knowing animals are being tortured daily and we are not updating our laws to attempt to track them, so we can prevent this from ever happening. We can't even catch after the fact, because... we don't do autopsies on dead animals to look for abuse.

Now, I want to change this. I understand we need to spend money (and be taxed for this). And I want it, because I give a shit about animals - you don't, since, they are not your tribe, so why should you care for them? So you don't care, because you are tribalistic and individualist at your core.

      I'm not tho.

      >I'm convinced there's no good people in this world

There is, its literally me. I exist, but I am extremely rare. Genuinely good people are only those that care outside their tribe. We are extremely rare, the capacity for empathy only exist in 1 to 5% of the population of the world. It is not a trait that got to reproduce at good rate, since its not needed for reproduction - only up to the point that people FORM tribes through empathy, and they attack the other tribes.

This is why you type of humans are caught in this issue, of being in a world of both kindness and aggressiveness. You have enough empathy for tribalistic behavior, but not for more than that, and you are trapped in that conflict forever, and animals will suffer forever because your genes can't care about them.

No one would until his siblings threw their clothes in, set to wash, and what came next was not pretty. I'm getting sick just thinking about it. The point is, don't be like him because you end up gruesomely killing yourself. Consider joining a monastery and being a monk. Drink ale and archive scripture. Just take it nice and easy, buddy.

Trees are based, humanity is cringe. Wake up to reality. The longer you live, the more you realize that the only things that truly exist in this reality are merely pain, suffering and futility. Nothing in this accursed world ever goes according to plan. As long as there is a concept of victors, the vanquished will also exist. The dominance hierarchy that binds human society and the social dynamic of every living creature just as tightly as DNA binds our cells will always give way to conflict and suffering.

What's up with the Scouring of the Shire in the book after the ring is destroyed? Like what's the thematic purpose of this conflict and Saruman being the last antagonist after a trilogy titled Lord of the rings

The Nazi (Sauron) threat was defeated but the Hobbits (Englishmen) returned to a land destroyed by rampant industrialisation perpetuated by Saruman (British politicians and business interests), the traitor in their midst. Even though they'd defeated this great evil, they would now be slaves to a brutal capitalistic society.
