I can't believe this film is so highly rated. It's a fricking disgrace. Incredibly cringey dialogue, awful soppy music, glorifying the war (fricking holding up a dead body to use as a human shield), and awful acting in general. Also the real ridge was fricking tiny
We know what hand’s typed this post
It was kino.
Compare Band of Brothers to this pile of shit. The difference is night and day
I don’t necessarily disagree with you. But your post reeks of low test
Weirdo. I could bench press your obese mum and still have enough energy to kick your teeth in afterwards
>using physical threats online
Go top up your s-o-ylent
Nice 2015 insult
Oh also that "just one more!!" crap was stolen from Schindler's list. It was cringe as well, who the frick says that out loud to themselves?
(You) for the bait
Not bait. It was shit. The battle scenes were comparable to the ones in Tropic Thunder. The entire thing was laughable
>The battle scenes were comparable to the ones in Tropic Thunder. The entire thing was laughable
This, it was so caricatural I couldn't take it seriously.
>Schindler's list
that one is cringy af, based mel uprageds shitty material
Yeah that was shit too but it was ripped from that. "PLEASE GOD LET ME GET ONE MORE!!! I GOTTA SAVE EVERYBODY!!" Frick off.
Have you ever tried being a normal person with normal emotions?
their sentiments are understandable, seeing as the characters motivation was just hamfisted into the movie in the dullest way possible.
this its obvious mel just wanted to make a brutal ww2 movie but added some little pacifist homosexual in there as oscar bait and it worked lmao
No one in the history of the internet has ever made a good post while using the word "cringe" as an adjective, thank you for upholding the tradition.
No comeback so you resorted to that bullshit. Nice one

Nah. It's shit. I hate using this word but it was so cheesy. War films should not be like that.
seethe weakling
Did you know it was based on a true story? That made a big difference to me.
Yeah of course, but the way they portrayed it was just ridiculous
But the main character was ridiculous. Thats the whole point. According to our society he's ridiculous. But he gets results.
well they had to condense several days/weeks of fighting into what, half an hour
>Did you know it was based on a true story?
They said it in the movie, if only you watched it...
At the beginning or end?
Don't remember, probably end credits.
It was real, the man saved more people than the movie showed. Why do chinese and russian people on Cinemaphile get so mad about this?
>Why do chinese and russian people on Cinemaphile get so mad about this?
They can't comprehend going against your government and thinking for yourself
>man picking up a half of a corpse of his freshly dead countrymen with a single arm and using it as a shield
>carrying a 16 pounds heavy BAR with the other hand while making nothing but straight headshots and killing entire groups of enemies with a single magazine
>blown up soldiers doing cartwheels throughout the scene while shrapnel free explosions are going off a feet or two away
>"realistic"
Not even cartoons are this ridiculous, you would have to be quite of a brainless videogame manchild to think this is an accurate portrayal

You give this response because you have absolutely no comeback to what he pointed out.
Yep, exactly. I was shocked by how fricking stupid it was
It's not just the action, it's the entire flick.
The entire first is act is literally trope after trope him meeting the absolute most perfect girl of his dreams, his stern father "with a heart of gold", Vince Vaughn laughably playing the most cliche drill sergeant on the planet, that entire court room scene, americans being the utmost morally perfect human beings while the japs are portrayed as ruthless demon spawn of hell monsters, the ending has title cards explaining what happened to the character after all the events, it's all as sappy and cliche as possible. I was literally laughing out loud when Vince Vaughn was backwards sled riding and one shot killing everyone on sight at the same time.
just because you're a physically pathetic permavirgin doesn't mean everyone else is too.
>No comeback
>Resorts to a Cinemaphile retort
I love when this happens
>m-muh realism
if war movies were made with you in mind, it would be a 30 hour epic of men drawing on maps, planning logistics, the endless bureaucracy of planning a campaign, followed by 10 minutes of foggy, unwatchable warfare.
Watch Band of Brothers then come back
>entire episode devoted to muh holohoax
>the division wasn't even based in that region IRL
>talking about realism
L M A O
So ignore that one and watch the rest
Understand that rightoids like this shitty movie for political reasons, cause mel made it. Anyone reasonable can see it’s not only disrespectful but also just a shit movie. This movie is The Pacific for guys who play video games.
I am right wing. I love other Mel Gibson movies. That doesn't make Hacksaw Ridge a good movie though.
Oh yeh, true. That explains some of the replies in this post
. who installed that rope ladder?
. if they managed to do that why didn't they just go on or even stay there to cover their comrades?
. why did the japs let it happen if they controlled the top of the cliff?
. why didn't they just cut it off?
If I were you I'd log off. Exposing your 80IQ opinions online is utterly embarassing.
Andrew Garfield carries the movie hard, he makes the main character very likeable and sympathetic
why did andrew garfield break every time vince vaughn spoke?
It sucked. God never prohibited anyone from touching a gun and shooting at paper targets, that whole first half was crap.
He's supposed to be a very faithful quaker, they're as commited to non-violence as they come. It's true that it doesn't really make sense for him to refuse target pratice, but it's a way to show the depth of his devotion, which is what the movie is ultimately about
Why would you join the army if you are conmited to non-violence? It's like being a devout muslim and entering a hamburger eating contest
>It's like being a devout muslim and entering a hamburger eating contest
Do you think burgers are made from pigs?
Well I doubt that the meat is halal.
So in short: He was an entitled shit who wanted to feel good about himself and in the process, caused a lot of work for a lot of people.
>and in the process, caused a lot of work for a lot of people.
What the frick did he mean by this?
It's WW2 and he's an american, the point was that he wanted to "do his part" without resorting to violence and compromsing his faith, and he succeded in doing so, that's what the movie is ultimately about it. It's set in WW2 , but it's not some standard war flick about how it's based to kill japs, but instead about one mans commitment to his faith in the midst of a horrific war. It's a clint eastwood movie after all, what do you expect?
>It's a clint eastwood movie after all, what do you expect?
???
Ah shit, I mixed it up with heartbreak ridge kek, yeah now that I think of it, it's kind of strange for a mel gibson movie
passion is based but i like him more as an actor than a director
>yeah now that I think of it, it's kind of strange for a mel gibson movie
is it though? he made Passion of the Christ and Braveheart. both films about sticking to your convictions no matter what. I still haven't seen Apocalypto, so not sure if that fits the same theme as well
I guess it's still mostly in line, though it's quite cheesy for a gibson movie
>I still haven't seen Apocalypto, so not sure if that fits the same theme as well
Apocalypto is a great movie, really one of a kind, and it's more about enduring and fighting for your freedom and your loved ones no matter the circumstances, absolutely recommended. Probably the best Gibson movie, and even with a movie without white people and the actors speaking mayan he still managed to make a vast amount of morons seethe because the Mayans weren't the good guys who were totally advanced and not curel and brutal at all.
>It's a clint eastwood movie after all, what do you expect?
ummmm...anon
you say this and yet he made a big difference to the lives around him, in the end he did a great job
>Why would you join the army if you are conmited to non-violence?
Try watching the movie, moron.
I get the joining the army part but he could saved himself from a lot of trouble like getting beat up and hazed and missing his own wedding by just doing the fricking target practice and it wouldn't have touched his quaker values at all. He could still have refused to actually carry a gun into battle afterwards which would have made everything a lot easier
>be me
>HATE guns
>join the army
>NOOO I DON'T WANT TO USE A GUN TO SHOOT PEOPLE VIOLENCE IS BAD
I honestly don't get it. If you don't want to shoot a gun you should avoid the army instead of wasting valuable time and resources to bring this moronic matter in front of a court
it's bad, but not because of any of those reasons, you massive b***h
his entire motivation being shown in a 3 second flashback and having half the movie focus on a love interest was what killed it for me.
Battle scene almost made up for it.
I watched it last week and it was pretty underwhelming. It just sort of abruptly ends.
What is it about mel gibsons style that sends midwits into a rage spiral?
If you were anything but a right wing poltard, you'd hate this film. You like it because Mel Gibson directed it. That's it.
>"glorifying the war"
>when the movie is about a conscientious objector
excellent bait
Legit thought the Andrew Garfield character was a Forrest Gump type moron until I realised that was just his face and accent.
my favorite part is where he arrives at camp for training and meets living clichés. the buff Clark Gable looking guy is called Hollywood, the nyc taxi triver is called Brooklyn, the fricking guy doing lasso tricks is called cowboy, it's like a parody of a shitty ww2 movie
Saving private ryan is garbage cringe and propaganda
