I dont care what any of you says
This scene is meant to be Cooper guiding Laura into the light, the same way he did with Leland when he died.
You can get Lynch on the phone and he'll confirm, the mistery is all gone now.

Interesting how The Return's ending shot is similar to this scene, with roles reversed of course.

This is Laura realizing this is where she belongs, it's her home. Your Laura disappeared, it's just her now.

Laura was a drug addict prostitute. Drug addict prostitutes go to hell.

It's actually Laura gaining self awareness as a character in a tv screen

    Confirmed by Frost himself

Frost has his reading, which he's written about in detail, and, yeah, that's basically it for this scene. Lynch has a completely different one that he's never expressed to anyone outside the production and none of them have ever passed any of it on, other than to say it's almost nothing like Frost's.

Lynch worked with him for a reason

          Perhaps you got FROSTED

The mess that was the second half of S2 is Frost. The Kingesque X-Files lite crap about aliens and owl caves is Frost. I bet nobody here has even read the atrocious Frost's script for the season's finale. In it, Cooper was to face his greatest fear which was, take a deep breath, a dentist chair with Bob as a dentist. That's Frost.
Lynch came back, fixed the script and made a fan-favorite episode. If he didn't nobody would talk about Twin Peaks now.

Yeah but the Return's climax was purposefully a shitty deus ex machina that fit with the show's general theme of TV/Hollywood sucks and frick you.

the Return was good but at times it felt as if Lynch was taking a huge dump on his fans and telling them it was tasty chocolate

              hate that green glove guy.
hate the monologue he does to set it up.
hate the bar fight where it is used.
              hate beating bob the boulder.
its not funny, its not satire on superhero movies, its not a satisfying conclusion for anything.
i think it ruins series 3 and I dont get how lynch thinks this is worthy scene for his work.

OG Twin Peaks is in the style of 80s soap operas
The Return is in the style of 00s/10s prestige streaming shows - so it *has* to contain capeshit

Twin Peaks was always about using the vocabulary of what was popular in mass entertainment television at the time as a vehicle for whatever Frost and Lynch felt like doing, like some insane demon shit from another dimension invading your television set

OG Twin Peaks revolutionized television storytelling by having a large encompassing cop case that couldn't be solved in one episode

                lucy shoots evil coop
bob rises from the corpse as a black sphere
bob approaches the people in the room but cannot find one he can possess.
coop stands firm, from behind him emerges the one armed man.
he holds up a golden seed- to create a tulpa.
he could say any one of his quotes here it would sound cool.
he throws the seed at evil coops body, black stuff bubbles up around it, the limbs start twisting and thrashing.
bob is drawn into the body.
coop smashes a lamp on it and in an electric flash it is gone.
cut to evil coop burning in a chair in the lodge.

The ending isn't in the original script. I think Lynch included it to give it a nicer ending due to how brutal it was.
