It's pretty childish. You either make a political campaign against tipping or you adapt to society.

No. The contract is between me and the establishment owner. His prices for services are writen on the menu, there is no ambiguity. I don't care about his moronic zoomer employees and their inability to negotiate wages.

Maybe they should take that up with their boss. Motherfricker charged 14$ for a sandwich I ate in less than an hour, and that waitress had like five tables. He can afford to pay her.

If they don't receive enough tips to make at least minimum wage then their employer is required by law to make up the difference. If you are too cowardly to sic rabid government bureaucrats on your law breaking employer you deserve to starve.

I mean I’m very sorry the government taxes their tips. That’s fricked up. That ain’t my fault. I mean it would appear that waitresses are one of the many groups the government fricks in the ass on a regular basis. I mean show a piece of paper that says the government shouldn’t do that, I’ll sign it, put it to a vote, I’ll vote for it, but what I won’t do is play ball. And this non-college bullshit I got two words for that: learn to fricking type, ’cause if you’re expecting me to help out with the rent you’re in for a big fricking surprise.

You know that line is really similar to the part where he's arguing with Mr. White about the guy bleeding to death and he says "Well I'm very sorry to hear that but some guys are lucky and some aint." Consistent through the whole movie.

Just raise the food price 20%. I'm already paying that price already. I don't need this "oh wow the food is so cheap" mindgame then having the price raised at the last second in some weird social game. Put the damn price I pay on the menu, with sales tax and tip tax. Because that's all a tip is anymore, it doesn't matter if I receive shit service or super amazing service, the tip is essentially mandatory at this point and is paid so no one gets mad at you and you have a conflict. It's not some one out of a dozen meals because you felt it was exceptional. This sort of bs ruins the eating out experience for me so I rarely so eat out, and with all the others who feel similar, that can't do much for these struggling waitresses salaries

        Anonymous

What's worse is mid-level restaurants and crap already do include a service price that is just tipping and the waiters expect tips on top of that. Fricking horrid.

This. If tips really should be a thing then chefs deserve them. It makes no sense that chefs and their helpers exist, do most of the work and don't complain at all even if most of the time their wage is not that different from waiters (unless you go to fancy restaurants) while the latters are the most vocal whiny b***hes in existence. I shouldn't care since I'm not even murrican so I'm not expected to tip anyway but I can guarantee that waiters are annoying wherever you go, even when their wage doesn't require them to rely on tips

If you don't tip, feel free to either help change the law or leave the country. But I've never met anyone who doesn't tip who also doesn't work some dead-end job like Walmart and look down on waiters as a coping mechanism. You know what group of people also famously doesn't tip? You're no better than they are.

Why should people who work dead end jobs be forced to tip? Dude's working at Walmart probably make less than the waiters. All they do is smoke weed behind the building and frick up my order.

        Anonymous

        >Why should people who work dead end jobs be forced to tip?
Because it's written into the implicit social contract, which is what keeps society working. If you want to eschew basic social basic social graces then go live in some nig ghetto and see how fun it is.

        >But I've never met anyone who doesn't tip who also doesn't work some dead-end job like Walmart and look down on waiters as a coping mechanism
unlikely considering even fricking walmart staff gets tips.
I do not tip simply because it's a cost that should be covered by the employer, if they don't like it then they can go fight for it with legislation or whatever.
It's not my problem, I will give money to charity, but I refuse to give tips.

        >I will give money to charity, but I refuse to give tips
Get real dude. You don't give money to charity.

        >I've never met anyone who doesn't tip who also doesn't work some dead-end job like Walmart and look down on waiters as a coping mechanism.
Why don't you tip Walmart greeters? So you look down on them?

If we as a society considered it the common practice to tip them, then I would tip them. If I had that much of a problem with it, I would work to get laws changed. That's how society works.

Again, all of this is just insane, asspained cope from people who make $12 an hour and are mad other, similarly unskilled people are making more money than they are. You know you could just go work at a restaurant, right? Though I guess you wouldn't be making many tips in your backwater shithole.

The "social contract" only exists because your boss thought it was cheaper to change public thinking than to pay his employees and he was right. Now you work for him when he doesn't even pay you.
