>2008 >when cape shit didn't go to shit
MOST capeshit was shit in the late 2000's, which was why Iron Man was such an anomaly. It then proceeded to pump out two sequels that were among the worst of the genre. Stop being a zoomzoom plz.
The US economy was pretty shit at the end of 2008 but you know what? I wanna head back too. PC games were good, gas was cheap, comics were pretty okay, and Iron Man reminded people that a hero movie could be done as well as Blade or Spider-man 1&2.
It's interesting seeing pre cinematic universe movies for capeshit
A lot of them were self contained stories that would sometimes reference different characters by name or by description
I can't wholeheartedly say I want that era back but it'd be interesting to see come again
Yeah I get why DC etc want their own cinematic universes but god damn there's been just a flood of truly shitty people never mind shitty movies out of that studio that I think we could all do without. No kid needs the spectacle of shitfaced Batman being driven to the burger place on his way to rehab by his ex wife, let alone all the other crap.
But there's so much money riding on these movies, more than just the ordinary tentpoles because they're supposed to set up more down the line, the pressure on those involved is just insane and bad decisions get made and you know once there's bad decisions flying around they don't stop. DC keeps saying they're not doing a DCEU any more and then they keep threatening to make sequels to movies nobody wanted in the first place.
Meanwhile Tom Cruise just made the best selling movie of his entire career, a sequel 36 years later. Crazy shit. I see why they do it, I just think we're missing out on some Big Trouble In Little Chinas or whatever would have occupied that kind of quirky sci/fantasy space in theaters in the past. Just let Marvel do Marvel, everyone else pretend to be normal.
>Remember when iron man was setting up the real mandarin
No I don’t. Im not trying to be facetious, I just don’t know what you’re talking about (it’s been a while since I saw the films)
The ten rings(the terrorists that kidnapped stark in first iron man) were setting up the mandarin for a later movie. Instead we got a shitty fake out with a shitty business suit villain replacing the mandarin and a few years later a boring generic chink replacing what shouldve been the real mandarin and iron mans dead at that point
>The ten rings(the terrorists that kidnapped stark in first iron man) were setting up the mandarin for a later movie
I remember them saying this in interviews, but it wasn't so much present in the movie.
As much as I like Netflix Punisher, I was hoping he would have been part of the MCU. This came out around the same time as Ironman. Before Disney got involved.
That era before the MCU was really formed was interesting. People used to think Tobey would come backas Spidey and they could do a crossover with him and Iron man.
>People used to think Tobey would come backas Spidey and they could do a crossover with him and Iron man.
That's because Marvel wanted it to happen, but Sony wouldn't play ball.
We went from MySpace to nanotechnology and time travel in ten years, bros.
>We went from MySpace to nanotechnology and time travel in ten years, bros.
Not really. Normal people in the MCU don't have hologram projectors and shit. All that super-science tech was literally just for the main characters. None of that shit was/is available to the general public.

>I swear to god if one of you throws one of those Black person symbols in a photo with me I will have the entire Stark Industries legal team come down on you with the force of those bombs we dropped on the asiatics back when dear old dad was shining Captain America's shield.
Tony's character was really different back then.
Frick take me back to 2008 when cape shit didn't go to shit

>spider-man movies (even 3)
>The Dark night
>Hanwiener
>The incredibles
>sky high
>watchmen
nah it was great, better than what it is now.
How?

Wisconsin NaGu isn't a race, anon

This was a pretty good movie.
Too bad every other superhero movie since than has been awful
Remember when iron man was setting up the real mandarin and an MCU that wasnt afraid to be edgy and wasnt just sanitized sitcom quips

They have the 10 rings flag behind them when they ask for money for stark
I could not care less.
Also, Iron man 2 didn't set up shit. A black suit guy who is credited as ten rings doesn't count.
I hope you enjoy homogenized quip shit instead, consumer homosexual
>distributed by Paramount
That's why

No

Multiverse of Madness is edgier than Ironman

War zone is one of the most underrated superhero films ever. Love the shit out of that iterations jigsaw

Damn I remember seeing burger king selling toys for iron man 2. I miss those simple times like you wouldn't believe.
