Does this mean that Lois is, per usual, an intolerable c**t who just lucks out and gets to live the female fantasy of having a literal super man who not only puts up with her insufferability but enables it by constantly supporting and saving her?

Or is this a rare situation where Lois isn't an unlikable slag? Though I guess if she had to be a decent person with some semblance of accountability, it probably wouldn't be a female fantasy.

Marketing and corporate suits have an idea of things being targeted to one audience but that's pretty rare and very few people really do niche marketing, particularly for animation, which is very governed by other tie-ins, like licensing for toys and other merch. It's very rare for a large corporation to create an animated product and not try to engage with a licensor for merch - and why WB Consumer Products hasn't gotten - at minimum Funko with the amount of landfill fodder that company seems willing to churn out - to make any official merchandise somewhat boggles the mind.

Companies aim for what they call Four Quadrants, which is mostly used for movies but is equally applied to cable and broadcast (Superbowl, "the whole family can watch/enjoy") type shows, so no, Cartoon Network didn't agree to this and WB didn't pay for it thinking it was meant for ONE and only ONE audience.

"Alpha males" aren't real. The scientist who developed the concept publicly disavowed it after further research showed he came to incorrect conclusions. This has been confirmed by multiple mammal behavioral scientists and anthropologists. Its like the "aether" or "people only use ten percent of your brain" or "Avacados evolved specific symbiosis with giant sloths." A pop science factoid that went viral. Although nowadays the "alpha male" concept is popular with political content creators as a validation of things they already believe are true (or whose customers believe are true .)

it's hard to categorize because you only see the parts they want to show, but Manganiello and Hemsworth (Chris) both give off big himbo/dork energy and don't come across as being jerks. Hemsworth seems to be an interested and concerned father and not as stupid as characters he plays but also not any sort of rocket scientist.

Joe seems to like his bro time and his nerd pursuits but WANTED to do things like be in a movie with Pee Wee Herman. And wanted to be in a cape movie, not for the paycheck but due to his own interests.

Clark here isn't stupid, at worse he's trusting and naive. Smallville Clark was also dorky as was the Donnerverse version.

Comics Clark Kent is just as easily a 'golly Mr. White' type as well, from as far back as the Silver Age.

Superman got an extreme control of his skin and muscles that is borderline shapeshifting, that's why he can turn soft and even look like he's hurt by humans as Clark, he can use those powers to change his face to improve his Clark Kent disguise at all but I don't think modern writers remember that.

Curt Swan drew that but Murphy Anderson did the inks. Swan did many of the Superman related titles in those days so most of the Jimmy Olsen books would be that, so you're probably thinking of post 1970s artists.

            >Krypton at one time became an expanding empire that conquered other planets for years. When Krypton was a conquering race, the Kryptonian military was led by Admiral Dru-Zod the First who commanded entire fleets of ships, seeking worlds ripe for conquest. Some three-hundred years ago, Admiral Zod's capital ship, the Doomsday crash-landed on Earth in the region that would eventually become known as Texas. His Sunstone ship lay buried beneath the ground for centuries. Soon, the Kryptonian Empire was dismantled after the Kryptonian high council decided that their methods were too aggressive. So ended Krypton's Golden Age.

I'm going to repeat this every single MAWS "criticism" thread:
If you watch a show dedicated to a shapely, feminine, yet spunky, tomboyish, dedicated, homely girl, with a tight yet curvy body like Lois dedicated to her boyfriend, and this makes you mad in an age of homosexuals and women in tv, and this somehow captures your attention above all else, YOU ARE GAY.
You like men. You like penis. You like men kissing.
No one on planet earth would ever look at this, and while you can say the target audience is women to say this offends you for whatever reason in this day and age where it is the last bastion of heterosexuality then you are gay!
    >But Clark isn't Clark!
And not a single adaptation of Peter Parker has ever been comic accurate because if he were no one but other resentful nerds and outright incels would be able to relate to him yet you don't shit on the 90s series, Spectacular, or the Raimi Human Holocaust movies.
    >Well it sexualizes Clark and I can't enjoy it.
I hate women and Chads too, but why are you focusing on the MAN?
You are gay homie! Like I said, it's one thing to criqitue real womens relationships, not escapist fantasies.
There is nothing anyone here can say that will ever contradict this.
You are literally seething at the one good show in the past few years in a sea of dogshit with few gems in between.
YOU ARE GAY homie. YOU LIKE PENIS. YOU LIKE MEN. YOU LIKE HAVING GAY SEX WITH MEN.

oh it's pretty straight actually. Romance between Lois and Sup is nice, but I would've loved a subtle gay story with Jimmy a lot more. Finger crossed for a sequel with Clark's son and his cute boyfriend, and I will NOT accept anything less big or buff or nerdy than this Clark

I’m pretty disappointed she was apparently launched off of Krypton as an infant the same as Clark. I was kinda looking forward to her having PTSD or culture shock or something from remembering her life on Krypton and then coming to Earth, again. I know that’s been done with her character already, but I like it. If she has the exact same backstory as Clark, then I don’t see as much point in including her.

        Anonymous

The point of including her with backstory is how it affects Clark and Lois. Clark has to come to terms with being the son of a dictatorial empire of warmongers, and now he's torn between wanting to reconnect with his family and Lois worrying that another Kryptonian won't be as well-adjusted as he is, because she didn't grow up on Earth raised by humans. That's pretty obviously going to be a point of friction.
