Just keep watching The Sopranos because nothing else compares. You're going to be chasing the dragon for the rest of your life.

No. The last time I watched it was 2011. So I'll watch it again in maybe 8 years. Savor it.

The Wire is the only thing that compares. In fact I think The Wire is better in some ways.

Mad Men is always good too, just not to the same heights as the other two.

What exactly is mad men about, without spoiling much?

its about ad men in the 60s/70s and the shenanigans they get into, it's supposed to point at how shitty men like that were back in the day but they just come across as incredibly based

It would depend how old you are and how much you want to understand post WWII and Korean War vet/fathers. It’s a genius show in my opinion and has hot broads in it

It's about the American Dream and how people are okay with being lied to as long as they are being reassured that their lifestyle conforms to this ideal.

what you want to do vs society's expectations for you. The masks we all wear. American Life. It's the Soprano's companion piece. I always rewatch them one right after the other.
        Great dialogue, Great characters.

The poster I was replying to was Chinese, you can tell by the the ridiculous way he posts. And the only Chinese posters on the site are here to advertise for pennies on the dollar

Oh I see, thanks for the explanation. Why do they do it, are they just losers or society’s outcasts or what?

                Anonymous

A lot of them are basically prisoners of the Chinese government, forced to sit in computer bullpen all days with a million phone displays in front of each of them. They mostly post off of scripts though. Because they don’t hire chinks smart enough to speak English, those cost a few extra pennies, and when you’re talking about shilling it’s all a margin game. Getting the most brain dead, cheap, bulk, third world manpower that you can and just turning them loose on the site. The Chinese posters that aren’t prisoners are usually involved with one of China’s criminal elements. They’re in even worse shape than the prisoners are. It’s sad really, it’d be a humanitarian crisis if the Chinese were actually people.

What a hard life, I’m sure none if them ever get laid, given what I’ve read about Chinese women. I heard Xi was considering a zero child policy as well, where women can only breed with foreigners. Awful stuff.

They really don’t, many of them are hideous and pockmarked, with weird pear shaped bodies and bad haircuts. It’s hellish.

It’s like those photos of the boxer rebellion, where all the Chinese people had braids and pigtails for hair. No wonder people think they’re effeminate. They just go around wearing robes and braids like a woman, and smoking so much opium that they almost knock the ceremonial gong over. China is a dreadful place.

Ok morons. The Wire, The Shield, Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead, Dexter, Mad Men, Homeland, Billions, Westworld (only seasons 1-2)
That’s all I suppose. Of course you should also watch many saints of Newark in case you haven’t moron, and this underappreciated great Gandolfini film, Down the Shore. /thread

how the frick do you figure Dexter belongs in there? It's pure garbage once you take off the nostalgia goggles. Seasons 1, 2, 4, and maybe an episode or two of 6 are the only good parts of the show and good is stretching it. The writing is pretty terrible but the shock and shlock value bumps those parts up a bit.
