The only episode that really has fallen flat for me is the Brothers egg one. The joke about the Flat earth in the last episode was one of the best jokes in the whole series
while i liked last ep i feel like the flat earth joke wasnt good and dragged on for too long
i like the resolve of "yeah the earth is straight up flat deal with it" and then freaking out a bit for a moment, but it just kept going for too long when i feel like it couldve been a more quickpaced gag
especially with the long ass buildup to it... you just cant have a long buildup AND a long execution for the same dry humor gag, it doesn't work, it's like the comedic equivalent of pic rel
I think they should've ran with that bit, like "It's flat" "W-Wha? Whaaa? Hold on, hold on let me get accustomed to this" "There's the glass dome" "Wait Pim I can't, I'm still-" "Look Charlie you can even see there's no flag on the moon, we never landed there." "Hold on hold on you're really messing with me here I gotta" "And look-" "SHUT UP PIM SHUT UP!"
Wasn't the brothers episode made by some other youtuber? The writing feels different because it's trying to emulate the writing of that channel.
I forgot what it's called but I actually like it a lot from the videos I saw.
Wait it was? I really felt like that episode was written differently, like insanely differently, and was even wondering if they're experimenting with a different style or got someone else to write it or what, because it feels SO far off from their usual work

First of all I thought it was a good callback to the beginning where the guy was talking about flat earth. He said >i was just fricking around before, but ayys are actually real wtf!
So it makes sense that if the ayys are real then so is flat earth
Secondly, it still catchs you off guard because the empty planet they blew up wasn't flat, so it's weird that earth is. Thirdly, i just thought the comedic timing on the voice acting was really good. First the denial, then having to come to terms with it while almost panicking, realizing that they can't even tell anybody and lastly, charlies >oh my God, there's the dome, too
Idk explaining it just makes it less funny, so I'm gonna stop now, but I just thought it was a great moment >earth is flat, charlie >I know..
(check'd)
yeah the callback part is sweet, i like jokes that come back and give another punch

he came to an alien catchers meeting just to pretend to be crazy without believing in any of it, and it all ended up true
he's either a low ranking fed who does the field work but doesn't actually know the truth and is just following orders, or the kinda normalgay that goes on /x/ because "le craaazy schizo" culture is popular now and is fun for him to LARP as

There was no reason for the cops to arrest him and fat guy, they didn't find Pim, Charlie and Bill's mangled bodies or anything and they were only missing for like a night without anyone knowing where they went
So him arrest was most definitely a front, they're gonna use it for a buncha outrage articles just to cover newspaper space and tv time in order to distract from the alien sightings
The only miss so far was the president jimble one, and even that one has my brother quoting it nonstop. Frankly it was probably pretty good overall, just the squishy diaper noises throughout were really offputting.
i think that episode is proof that media should, first and foremost, be enjoyable to watch
if despite people liking the jokes and plot and everything, they still put it so low on their list of good ones purely because it was visually or audibly unpleasant to sit thru.
I have genuinely enjoyed every episode this season so far outside of the homunculus/egg one. I didn’t laugh or anything outside of the ms paint mom gag.
i didn't fully enjoy em all, but i'd rewatch em all some time in the future after i kinda forget about them partially
defo not the egg one tho
interesting how nearly everyone sets that one apart, and many agree it was the bad one
Yeah I loved it, it had a lot of really good scenes and while I feel like it tried to make less jokes, it succeeded in more jokes than previous episodes
I wonder if that's a good thing... Throwing in less gags overall, but having more of them hit... Lower joke-per-minute count but higher success percentage

I'm actually shocked they made an episode about aliens and didn't include a single reference to Jogel, I'm pretty sure the creators do know about him
In fact I don't recall recognizing a single celeb or media or pop culture reference in this episode that's more specific than just generalized super well known 'alien stuff', unless I missed any? I'd guess they took the criticisms about last ep to heart if this stuff wasn't made in advance, so maybe it's just experimental to see what people like better Personally I enjoy a tasteful reference now and then if it doesn't detract from the comedy, but if I have to choose between "too many" and "none at all" I'll always go with the latter
it was weird because I didn't even recognize the RLM guys until like the last couple of lines. the show is funny in that it'll either deliver a completely earnest, original episode or just have fricking doug walker wearing a wig. and both will be the funniest shit
Didn't we start hearing about a bunch more alien shit happening and gov hiding ayyys right around after the time it was sent out? He pissed em off, they're gonna come and the first thing they're gonna do is bomb Sweden
When it's not being excessivelly gross it's fun. I loved the aliens episode.
Also I hated that they ran James voice through a shitty filter. What's the point of having him as a guest if you're going to do that?
James? Who?
Idk I can understand doing that if a person gives a really good performance and it's their style of line delivery that you respect, but considering I didn't feel like anyone's performance in that episode was particularly good... Other than Bill and crazy-fed-guy, but I don't think they were filtered... Yeah they probably blew it
Who did he voice?
Oh, I thought you were talking about the last episode.
Yeah the Devil's performance was pretty lame that was a dumb thing to do, maybe they hired him and only then realized "shit this kinda doesn't sound like Satan" after they heard the voice coming out of the character's mouth and did it last minute
I do love it when the show goes more for a good performance, I'm not to fond of the "casual normal voice" thing when done too much, it really does work best when saved for the occasional unexpected gag
Even Bill who's just, yknow a normal guy, gave a performance, yes he sounded like a normal guy having a normal convo but he acted it out and it made it more enjoyable than intentionally making it so stilted that it's awkward
>James Rolf, the AVGN guy. He voiced the devil.
How are people still repeating this moronic urban legend? Anyone with ears can tell that it's Zach's voice. Just listen to it pitched up.
>Satan saying "Merry Christmas"
I feel like it's be funnier the other way around, I mean, didn't Satan literally fall from Christianity? He wouldn't be Christian
Or are we playing off the joke that he was originally a Christian angel Or is it just a plain misdirect gag and I'm reading too much into it
The joke is that Satan is one of those guys who gets annoyed when people say "happy holidays" instead of "merry christmas"
Anonymous
but wouldn't he be one of those guys who get annoyed when people say "merry Christmas" instead of "happy holidays"?
idk that's one thing I feel like this show lacks, more gags even if they're alright don't really fit into the universe or it's context
like why is satan depressed? yeah yeah big guy ruler of a huge kingdom is behaving like a common person, but they dont delve into why, they could make jokes about it regarding his rule of hell but theres nothing
2 weeks ago

They do explain it. He comes to believe that his job is effectively pointless and that he’ll never be rewarded for all the work he puts into running Hell. So he becomes a burnout and copes with nicotine, fast food, and video games.
There genuinely isn’t much deeper. He’s a literal red cartoon Devil there’s no deep theological point to be made here.
Anonymous
but it doesn't connect in any way to hell, it could've been any other job, sure it's contextually funny because it's hell but that's it, he doesn't relate it to being hell in any way, nothing like, idk "sinners just aren't as passionate about being burned for eternity as they used to be" or something
2 weeks ago
Anonymous
I thought the eternal pointlessness of it was very much hell specific,
In life you work your shitty accounting job because you get paid every two weeks. Satan makes the point he only gets paid after eternity, so never.
Anything more on the nose probably would’ve started making it less funny (at least in my book).
Anonymous
they didn't work off of it tho it was just implied and i think it'd hit better in terms of comedy if there was more hell related stuff to it yknow? i'm not saying it needs to be deeper and more serious, i'm saying it should've been more absurdist

Yeah I think I get what your saying.
May just be a matter of preference, I can see how you’d want that.

Saying Merry Christmas bolsters Christian mythology, which he is a part of. Erasing Christianity erases Satan along with it.

It simply shows respect to Christ which Satan would hate, Satanists believe in Satan but still don't like Christ and thus avoid celebrating his holiday despite believing in the general mythology
2 weeks ago
Anonymous
This is taking into account the greater context that there are other mythologies in the universe and said mythologies can run the risk of being forgotten. As much as Satan would despise Christ, I doubt he wants to drag both of them into nonexistence.

Why not? It's not like Satan is directly even tied to Christianity at this point since there's even Satanists who downright don't believe in Christ or God, but worship Satan

I think you guys are reading too far into it
It's a joke the same way that him saying >you pissed me the frick off, dude
Is a joke. The joke is simply that it's funny he wouldn't use the word "frick" and instead go with a lesser bad word. Saying Merry Christmas is funny because of who is saying it

This. The joke is that he’s such a petty dick that he’ll correct ‘happy holidays’.
The way I took it if the delivery guy said ‘merry Christmas’ Satan would’ve still been a piece of shit and corrected him the other way. There wasn’t a right answer because the Devil is an butthole.
The joke is that Satan is so mindlessly dedicated to being an butthole that he's one of those anti-happy holidays people, even if it's self-contradictory.
Is James Rolfe named in the credits? A lot of people are insistent he's in the episode, even if he's not voicing the devil. I'll have to go double check
I don't think he plays the devil, I reckon that's just Zach doing a voice and having a filter applied
2 weeks ago
Anonymous
No he's definitely not playing the devil, I was asking if he's in the episode at all. Because people who realize it's Zach playing the devil are saying James played someone else or briefly appeared in some shot. I wanted to know if he was mentioned in the credits.
I went back and checked after making that comment, and see he was

james appears for a split second in the spooky hell montage or whatever it was. pic related. mike stoklasa shows up there too
I know that the James thing is a myth but an actual example is in the aliens episode. Mike, Rich, and Jay from RLM but their voices are modified. I could hear Mike through the filter and guessed the other alien was Rich, but couldn't really hear it. I'm not sure if I would have wanted them to actually include it or not, it would have been total pandering but I kind of wanted to hear the Rich Evans laugh
I guess this show isn't officially translated to Japanese yet? She has some knowladge of the English language so I don't think she's 100% confused but she's defo missing on some more topical and niche jokes. And that's a good thing.
Anonymous
I guess for some parts she picks up
However she definitely misses slang/idioms/phrases/cultural references/internet references/etc.
Most importantly she definitely isn't picking up on all the fast talking stuttering/realistic speech or the talking over argument moments like Alan arguing with Armzo, or Charlie and Pim arguing with the aliens
2 weeks ago
Anonymous
I think she picks up on it perfectly, she picks up on the idea and that's really all that matters
She doesn't need to understand every word Alan and Armzo say to eachother to understand the point of the scene is that they're arguing, and that kinda is the point of that scene, what they say exactly or what they argue about is meaningless and inane but the joke IS the argument itself

Season 2 isn't out yet in Japan, season 1 is. I don't know what the subtitle situation is though. She actually watched season 1, but for season 2 she is just watching clips on youtube which I know aren't translated at all. >she's defo missing on some more topical and niche jokes.
One of the funniest things was when Jared Fogle showed up. She had to google who he was and all she found was that he was a guy in old subway ads, and she starts talking about how she loves subway but hasn't gone in a while. Then she just ends it by saying "oh they don't want to help him because he got arrested for something?" Side note but I really hate this tiktok speak where people excessively self-censor anything slightly edgy. That video is full of comments where people say "Jared is a pdf file, he had cheese pizza" and I'm just thinking "you morons, she is going to have absolutely no idea what the frick you're talking about. Just say he was a pedophile with a lot of child porn, youtube isn't going to ban you for saying that
2 weeks ago
Anonymous
>spoiler while i normally do hate that sorta speak, the issue is that youtube DOES auto-delete or at least hide comments like that very often, a lot of e-kiddie speak is a direct result of the websites and apps they use thinking even so much as saying a word that relates to an unfortunate topic, like "crime" or "murder" or "rape" is horrible so they censor the content creators they watch, and in turn they start using funne euphemisms
the issue is that those kids learn these words, don't understand that they're being used out of neccesity, and think "oh saying these words is bad, i'll use the funnee euphemisms too even when i'm talking in a context where i'm not being censored because i just believe it's bad to say them" it ends up being a self fullfilling prophecy
most of the way kids nowadays talk is born out of corporate or branding reasons and it's fricking embarrassing
that aisde, no, why WOULD you tell the innocent woman about child porn celeb controversies, she doesn't fricking need that shit, frick off let her live in bliss, this constant need to make sure everyone knows about all the drama crap you know about is moronic too

That Jerad joke was so shit it was one of the things about the episode that made it feel like it had guest writers and this was one of the things they wrote
Just completely unprompted mention of some ancient celebrity controversy with the joke being "haha dis guy le bad" with little to no humor to it it felt like a joke straight outta South Park or something, I'm glad she completely missed it and went on a tangent about how she likes sandwiches
Charlie is cool I'm not gay and I know he isn't either but if he wanted to be my bf I wouldn't be opposed to it
not to fujopost but charlie is one of those characters i can actually see being canonically bisexual
he's a modern day young adult dude who absolutely seems like the kinda guy to go "look man i'm not judging man look it's cool it's cool bro it's fine look i'm not saying there's anything wrong with it dude listen buddy-", like he's obviously into chicks but he'll expiriment with a guy, sure
i mean, he did kinda almost get it on with mip
But he didnt. And hes Christian or Catholic or whatever.
The only hint that hes even okay with homosexuality is that he said the salt and pepper dudes kissing was beautiful.
Just cause he didn't end up doing it doesn't mean he didn't wanna
Besides there's plenty of Christians that are ok with being gay, like you said, he thought salt n pepper being together was cute although I thought one of them was a chick when watching but whatever, point stays the same

They have the same voice and they both sounded like high pitched boys to me.
His attraction to Mip is enough, imo. I don't really care whether or not Charlie is bisexual or bicurious all that much, but that's a fine enough reason to think it. Pim is a straight Chad though.

Its more interesting if it subverts expectations! Pim is gentle and energetic, so if he's the straight one its more cool.
it was probably a mission for him, considering he got saved by an angel later, he wasn't supposed to be there
that means whatever charlie did in life was good in god's eyes
it also means his grandma can't be in there for swearing because charlie swears all the time, so she must've done something actually bad
Man I wish they'd been allowed to make that mustard sucking wiener at 900% speed joke in the Salty's episode. Sounds so fricking funny at least they got to use the same concept here
Cinemaphile used to be like those kids in school that were genuinely unpopular because they like all the "wrong" things, but they had fun doing it and got together to have a good time with it
they didn't go out of their way to like unpopular things, it just sorta happened, and they liked some popular things too, they were just generally not very well liked or considered cool
then the normal kids realized being outcasts is kinda neat actually so they forced themselves into the group and started LARPing as them, but they didn't realize what was so fun about it and they started doing it as a performance, going out of their way to be as annoying and contradictory as possible, thinking being an outcast is all about being unlikeable because they themselves disliked them and projected their own feelings onto them
did Jeremy go to hell as punishment for his misdeeds in mortal life, or is he a demon born in hell? or maybe this is just a day job and he freely goes up to the surface
Its been in the Charlie sadpanda gallery for a good while but https://files.catbox.moe/iqcoqb.png I like the theme of Charlie doing sexual favors as part of his job.
He was going to be the grease puddle in the Saltys episode last season but AS wouldn’t let them bring someone on to do 1 role. They obviously dodged a bullet with that one.
Plenty of people were brought in for 1 role. Chills was the guy ordering at the counter in the episode with Shrimp and "Shrimpina". Doug Walker cameos as the Daniel the Demon Slayer in the episode where the boss gets married. Finn Wolfhard is the guy living in the walls of the office in the pilot episode. Gilbert Gottfried was God in the episode where Charlie dies and goes to Hell. I'd wager that there are more episodes that have cameos than episodes that don't.
Chris was probably arrested before they got a chance to formally ask him to be on the show. I remember watching an interview where Zach said that they were pretty much crunching to hit the release deadline. So doing voice work or guest voices a few months before releasing wouldn't be too surprising.
the issue isn't 'one role' it's 'one line'
you hire people for a certain amount of time and they do a certain amount of work
every guy who just did 1 line also did some other background character stuff too, not to mention they were already industry people that were easy for zach n mark to acquire
chris is just... some randy... they can't easily fetch, sit in the booth for 1 line, and then go 'right here's your lego money pal, go home'
Zach also said that if they were going to have Chris cameo on SF, it would have all have to have been done last minute, as far as recording Chris' line and wrapping everything up for release because he knew Chris has a huge mouth and can't keep secrets so this would have been done like this to prevent Chris from having too much time to blab on what they were doing.
Yeah Chris is difficult to work with, he CANNOT be quiet about anything even if it's for his own good, the only way to work with him is to constantly feed him misinformation so that if he ever goes on to chat shit, he only says incorrect things.
I’ll have to find the interview because my memory is a bit hazy, but from what I understood there were separate budgets for regular actors vs cameo appearances, and they blew through their cameo budget. So when they talked about getting Chris on, the suits said he’d have to be brought on as an actual actor for multiple roles
average smiling fujos fan
its over, its already worse than rick and morty at this point. all discussion outside of co is just trying to assign political/philosophical views to the show or teenage girls talking about how cute the characters are
Oh don't worry about it, that anon is the iPhone poster who keeps trying to convince us all that the fanbase is horrible
He was the one making all those falseflags threads where he roleplayed as an ''annoying fan'' but turned out to actually hate the show, because he wanted the perigay effect to happen and jannies to start banning threads on-sight
>Charlie is proactive in the story for once >actually proven wrong about something instead of being the creator's mouthpiece
I still don't like Charlie as a character overall but this was definitely an improvement.
why did they even get redlettermedia for an episode if they just put filters over their voices to make them unrecognizable? those alien dudes could’ve been voiced by anyone
i want you to think about the most obscure and/or least sexually appealing character in this whole show
and i bet you there's someone who wants to frick them
i bet you there's at least one piece of horny fanart of fanfic somewhere by someone who saw that one specific character and something in their autistic brain clicked and went "yes, this is my waifu/husbando"
like someone out there is getting horny to, idk... the grease puddle on the floor or something
Damn fandoms really do ruin everything. Constant sexualization of...these colorful shapes, shipping Charlie and Pim together...you people must be lonely. At least the show is great and so far only cringe was throughout the president episode, gross out humor is just so lazy and unfunny. Reminds me of Inbetweeners, constant vomit jokes for no reason
They're the modern evolution of Supernatural fans. The best thing about these loser is they always make the creators visibly uncomfortable and it's always caught on video. It's only a matter of time for Zach Hedel.
You're definitely a homosexual yourself, given that you have to narrowly avoid direct confrontation like a pussy and have to dismiss my very blunt words with such baby-like responses. You should probably cut yourself some more. Maybe then you'll summon that black dick up your ass you've been wishing for this week.
But wait... You're not imaginary, you're right here.
Unless you mean the character you're playing which is imaginary, but you said you're not playing a character... But maybe pretending like you're not playing a character *is* part of the character roleplay because the character in-universe wouldn't know they're playing a character. But if so how do they know they're imaginary? Is this a 4th wall break? Are you playing a character who exists in their universe and is thus not a character but *is* imaginary because they're some kinda supernatural being?
Look at these schizo-tier mental gymnastics you have to use to convince yourself what I said is somehow confusing just so you can avoid directly responding to me. You're pathetic
Yes, fall back on your imaginary roleplayer who you're responding to again instead of actually responding to a single actual point I've made. Here's your last (You), freak degenerate. Next time you want to impress le Cinemaphile you should actually try to exercise other conversational tactics than blatantly ignoring the other person like a child. Plugging your ears and shouting La La La isn't something an adult should be doing.
I don't care if he stops. The point is not playing into it and making a direct point about how boring, pedantic, and pathetic it is to do such an obvious and pisspoor attempt. I'd rather him think about something than just call him a homosexual
I wonder how far back this show gets made, I'm sure the creators peruse the web here and they probably can't take ideas from us but I don't doubt they'll see the responses to the stuff they give us and take them into account, it'd be interesting to see it happen
Probably next season
I love the show but if it ever goes past like Season 5, I can see it getting stale. They've definitely got a formula that still hits, question is how long.
no show should ever run for too long and i can only hope that these guys know when to quit while they're still spicy
maybe if they still have some juice in em for a cartoon but have run it too far with this one, they can make another one, with a somewhat different style
I love this line, it perfectly exemplifies my favorite style of humor this show does
Fun, easygoing and 'normal' communication not the dry "um, ok uh.. um ok listen bro uh... ok.. um... ok it's like this so, ok, uh..." stuff, that's fun now and then for a goof but not constantly but based on something totally out-there and strange
Charlie wanting the tiny version of his boss at the end of Alan's adventure is also up there in terms of my favorite gags
i appreciate the weird art, anon, but i'm not watching a preview and i think neither should you

i hate how they keep bringing back what should be one-off joke characters from the first season. it feels cheap. i want to see new weird characters, i don't need to know more about these random gags
Guys please keep spoilers for un aired episodes under the spoiler, I know it's rare to request this on Cinemaphile but this time it's actually neccesary
Thank you
I haven't watched the clip i just saw the thumbnail, but if you mean Mr. Boss' lil baby dude I'd argue that's fine
Needlessly bringing back characters just to use em in the same way is annoying, yes, but I think it's ok if it's just a neat little character we saw glimpses of and wasn't really utilized
Same way they brought back the aliens that got a little appearance in the magic forest, they used them well, and that's ok with me
As long as they don't start doing "Shrimp comes back for a WHOLE NOTHER ADVENTURE!" much

First of all I thought it was a good callback to the beginning where the guy was talking about flat earth. He said
>i was just fricking around before, but ayys are actually real wtf!
So it makes sense that if the ayys are real then so is flat earth
Secondly, it still catchs you off guard because the empty planet they blew up wasn't flat, so it's weird that earth is. Thirdly, i just thought the comedic timing on the voice acting was really good. First the denial, then having to come to terms with it while almost panicking, realizing that they can't even tell anybody and lastly, charlies
>oh my God, there's the dome, too
Idk explaining it just makes it less funny, so I'm gonna stop now, but I just thought it was a great moment
>earth is flat, charlie
>I know..
(check'd)
yeah the callback part is sweet, i like jokes that come back and give another punch
speaking of fakeout guy
he's 100% a fed, right?
Yes
he came to an alien catchers meeting just to pretend to be crazy without believing in any of it, and it all ended up true
he's either a low ranking fed who does the field work but doesn't actually know the truth and is just following orders, or the kinda normalgay that goes on /x/ because "le craaazy schizo" culture is popular now and is fun for him to LARP as
There was no reason for the cops to arrest him and fat guy, they didn't find Pim, Charlie and Bill's mangled bodies or anything and they were only missing for like a night without anyone knowing where they went
So him arrest was most definitely a front, they're gonna use it for a buncha outrage articles just to cover newspaper space and tv time in order to distract from the alien sightings
Checked.
Yeah the fricking dome sent me. Biggest laugh of the season so far.
“I’m gonna be the money president” is still imo the funniest line of the season so far.
This last episiode was very funny, to me
Yeah I loved it, it had a lot of really good scenes and while I feel like it tried to make less jokes, it succeeded in more jokes than previous episodes
I wonder if that's a good thing... Throwing in less gags overall, but having more of them hit... Lower joke-per-minute count but higher success percentage
I'm really surprised Zach didn't work in Fire in the Sky references and the aliens just eat Bill like his belly is a snack.

αααααααααααααн
I'm actually shocked they made an episode about aliens and didn't include a single reference to Jogel, I'm pretty sure the creators do know about him
In fact I don't recall recognizing a single celeb or media or pop culture reference in this episode that's more specific than just generalized super well known 'alien stuff', unless I missed any? I'd guess they took the criticisms about last ep to heart if this stuff wasn't made in advance, so maybe it's just experimental to see what people like better
Personally I enjoy a tasteful reference now and then if it doesn't detract from the comedy, but if I have to choose between "too many" and "none at all" I'll always go with the latter
it was weird because I didn't even recognize the RLM guys until like the last couple of lines. the show is funny in that it'll either deliver a completely earnest, original episode or just have fricking doug walker wearing a wig. and both will be the funniest shit
The guy who send the Anti Alien Alarm to space with the big antena might doom or save the planet.
Didn't we start hearing about a bunch more alien shit happening and gov hiding ayyys right around after the time it was sent out? He pissed em off, they're gonna come and the first thing they're gonna do is bomb Sweden
i find it hilarious that someone uploaded the "lyrics" to this shitpost to Genius and they're all treating it like it's one of Joel's music pieces
James Rolf, the AVGN guy. He voiced the devil. The guy that voiced God is also some known dude but his voice didn't have a filter.
Or are we playing off the joke that he was originally a Christian angel
Or is it just a plain misdirect gag and I'm reading too much into it
The joke is that Satan is one of those guys who gets annoyed when people say "happy holidays" instead of "merry christmas"
but wouldn't he be one of those guys who get annoyed when people say "merry Christmas" instead of "happy holidays"?
idk that's one thing I feel like this show lacks, more gags even if they're alright don't really fit into the universe or it's context
like why is satan depressed? yeah yeah big guy ruler of a huge kingdom is behaving like a common person, but they dont delve into why, they could make jokes about it regarding his rule of hell but theres nothing
They do explain it. He comes to believe that his job is effectively pointless and that he’ll never be rewarded for all the work he puts into running Hell. So he becomes a burnout and copes with nicotine, fast food, and video games.
There genuinely isn’t much deeper. He’s a literal red cartoon Devil there’s no deep theological point to be made here.
but it doesn't connect in any way to hell, it could've been any other job, sure it's contextually funny because it's hell but that's it, he doesn't relate it to being hell in any way, nothing like, idk "sinners just aren't as passionate about being burned for eternity as they used to be" or something
I thought the eternal pointlessness of it was very much hell specific,
In life you work your shitty accounting job because you get paid every two weeks. Satan makes the point he only gets paid after eternity, so never.
Anything more on the nose probably would’ve started making it less funny (at least in my book).
they didn't work off of it tho it was just implied and i think it'd hit better in terms of comedy if there was more hell related stuff to it yknow? i'm not saying it needs to be deeper and more serious, i'm saying it should've been more absurdist
I think you guys are reading too far into it
It's a joke the same way that him saying
>you pissed me the frick off, dude
No he's definitely not playing the devil, I was asking if he's in the episode at all. Because people who realize it's Zach playing the devil are saying James played someone else or briefly appeared in some shot. I wanted to know if he was mentioned in the credits.
I went back and checked after making that comment, and see he was
james appears for a split second in the spooky hell montage or whatever it was. pic related. mike stoklasa shows up there too
>the guy who voiced God
Gilbert Gottfried? In his last role ever before he died?
It wasn't his last, he worked all the time and has stuff that hasn't come out yet still in the works.
>some known dude
It was Gilbert Gottfried. C'mon.
I, too, have been watching her videos.
I probably dont want to know, but who
This entity.
These vids are so funny to me because she literally has no idea what's going and is just guessing based off of visuals
I guess this show isn't officially translated to Japanese yet? She has some knowladge of the English language so I don't think she's 100% confused but she's defo missing on some more topical and niche jokes. And that's a good thing.
Then she just ends it by saying "oh they don't want to help him because he got arrested for something?"
Side note but I really hate this tiktok speak where people excessively self-censor anything slightly edgy. That video is full of comments where people say "Jared is a pdf file, he had cheese pizza" and I'm just thinking "you morons, she is going to have absolutely no idea what the frick you're talking about. Just say he was a pedophile with a lot of child porn, youtube isn't going to ban you for saying that
>spoiler
while i normally do hate that sorta speak, the issue is that youtube DOES auto-delete or at least hide comments like that very often, a lot of e-kiddie speak is a direct result of the websites and apps they use thinking even so much as saying a word that relates to an unfortunate topic, like "crime" or "murder" or "rape" is horrible so they censor the content creators they watch, and in turn they start using funne euphemisms
the issue is that those kids learn these words, don't understand that they're being used out of neccesity, and think "oh saying these words is bad, i'll use the funnee euphemisms too even when i'm talking in a context where i'm not being censored because i just believe it's bad to say them" it ends up being a self fullfilling prophecy
most of the way kids nowadays talk is born out of corporate or branding reasons and it's fricking embarrassing
that aisde, no, why WOULD you tell the innocent woman about child porn celeb controversies, she doesn't fricking need that shit, frick off let her live in bliss, this constant need to make sure everyone knows about all the drama crap you know about is moronic too
That Jerad joke was so shit it was one of the things about the episode that made it feel like it had guest writers and this was one of the things they wrote
Just completely unprompted mention of some ancient celebrity controversy with the joke being "haha dis guy le bad" with little to no humor to it it felt like a joke straight outta South Park or something, I'm glad she completely missed it and went on a tangent about how she likes sandwiches
>Bear Grylls
It's always interesting just what ends up in Japan. I never thought the Japanese would know who Bear Grylls is.
sumiling friends. is. EPIC!!!!
OURFATHERWHOARTINHRAVENHALLOWEDBETHYNAME
that scene was adorable i love charlie praying
Charlie is cute
he's very cute
Charlie is cool I'm not gay and I know he isn't either but if he wanted to be my bf I wouldn't be opposed to it
what
not to fujopost but charlie is one of those characters i can actually see being canonically bisexual
he's a modern day young adult dude who absolutely seems like the kinda guy to go "look man i'm not judging man look it's cool it's cool bro it's fine look i'm not saying there's anything wrong with it dude listen buddy-", like he's obviously into chicks but he'll expiriment with a guy, sure
i mean, he did kinda almost get it on with mip
Yeah, he almost fricked Mip!
Pim is also attracted to two types of people, only one of whom is socially acceptable for him to date
Women, and KIDS, CHARLIE, HE LOVES KIDS
I feel like itd be the other way around if anything at all.
Its more interesting if it subverts expectations! Pim is gentle and energetic, so if he's the straight one its more cool.
Nah i get you, he's bi in that chill dude kind of way.
Hehe that's my boyfriend (left)
i dont
alan is warshed

Cinemaphile hates things that are mainstream popular. Don't ever judge your taste based on what literally morons here enjoy.
Amen, brother
So do you think grandma is actually in hell for swearing, or does she just not realize all the crimes she has committed to end up there
I guess we'll never know. Charlie didn't get told why he was in hell (I don't remember though).
it was probably a mission for him, considering he got saved by an angel later, he wasn't supposed to be there
that means whatever charlie did in life was good in god's eyes
it also means his grandma can't be in there for swearing because charlie swears all the time, so she must've done something actually bad
Man I wish they'd been allowed to make that mustard sucking wiener at 900% speed joke in the Salty's episode. Sounds so fricking funny at least they got to use the same concept here
Cinemaphile used to be like those kids in school that were genuinely unpopular because they like all the "wrong" things, but they had fun doing it and got together to have a good time with it
they didn't go out of their way to like unpopular things, it just sorta happened, and they liked some popular things too, they were just generally not very well liked or considered cool
then the normal kids realized being outcasts is kinda neat actually so they forced themselves into the group and started LARPing as them, but they didn't realize what was so fun about it and they started doing it as a performance, going out of their way to be as annoying and contradictory as possible, thinking being an outcast is all about being unlikeable because they themselves disliked them and projected their own feelings onto them
Dare I say this cartoon is kinda comfy.
it's a meme show that was taylor-made for reddit
It isn't reddit tier at all. Redditors are too sensitive for shows like this.4HYK
i see they unbanned the spamming underage iphoneposter
yeah yeah we already know all your talking points
keep it down, will ya?
>taylor-made
Posts like these are a diamond dozen in this doggy dog world.

you guys have a favorite piece of fan art?
Yes but I cant post it.
sauce???
Its been in the Charlie sadpanda gallery for a good while but https://files.catbox.moe/iqcoqb.png
I like the theme of Charlie doing sexual favors as part of his job.
can you link the actual gallery page? my connection has issues with file uploader services like catbox sometimes
Just search yaoi charlie on sadpanda
you are a godsend nonna, thank you for the delicious charlie bawls
I kinda love cropped porn. Not in a I will fap to this way, but I like how it gets my noggin joggin. though I like the uncropped ver of this better.
Was Chris Chan going to be in this show?
And funny enough, all of this didn't matter in the end since all of Season 1 got released at the same time anyways.
Last episode sucked ass, probably the worst episode of season 2 imo.
Nah the second episode was the worst.
Finally starting watching the show and it’s fun. Like 3 episodes in, just watched the Shrimp one. Poor Pim not getting with that lady
anyone have a webm of the homunculus sucking the guy's toes?
Is there a Mega of this series? Why don't you frickers make Mega threads anymore?
source on the image?
I like it too. Haven't disliked any of the new season
I find it amazing I somehow recognized SmallBu's animation in the last episode before even knowing they were involved
average smiling fujos fan
its over, its already worse than rick and morty at this point. all discussion outside of co is just trying to assign political/philosophical views to the show or teenage girls talking about how cute the characters are
What am I supposed to be mad about again?
Oh don't worry about it, that anon is the iPhone poster who keeps trying to convince us all that the fanbase is horrible
He was the one making all those falseflags threads where he roleplayed as an ''annoying fan'' but turned out to actually hate the show, because he wanted the perigay effect to happen and jannies to start banning threads on-sight
Didn't work lol
leave my wife alone
Why explain this in every fricking comment section idk why this shit annoys me
>Charlie is proactive in the story for once
>actually proven wrong about something instead of being the creator's mouthpiece
I still don't like Charlie as a character overall but this was definitely an improvement.
>Oneyplays is unfunny forced comedy shit that has them missing 90% of the shit in the game
>Smiling friends is absolute comedy gold
how did they do it
why did they even get redlettermedia for an episode if they just put filters over their voices to make them unrecognizable? those alien dudes could’ve been voiced by anyone
I thought for sure they were going to use Rich's iconic laugh, but instead they did a callback to The Dudebros
They should have just had them unmodified. the show is wacky enough to where an alien sounding like a regular dude isn't even off putting.
I understand it for Jay, his nasally monotone would NOT sound right coming from that giant police ship.
I still feel like the pilot is the best episode so far
i want you to think about the most obscure and/or least sexually appealing character in this whole show
and i bet you there's someone who wants to frick them
i bet you there's at least one piece of horny fanart of fanfic somewhere by someone who saw that one specific character and something in their autistic brain clicked and went "yes, this is my waifu/husbando"
like someone out there is getting horny to, idk... the grease puddle on the floor or something
>"my mushy gushy gay cartoon"
>"UwU!"
>"oh.. he just prayed. burn the merch"
Dude can you stop roleplaying in the thread, were trying to have a discussion here?
It wasn't roleplay. These homosexuals unironically had that reaction recently
Stop it, take that shit to MSPARP or something
yes yes im sure you had quite the exciting and enjoyable rp session recently but please this is Cinemaphile we dont do that here
I don't care about your headcanons, take your *notices your bulge OwO whats this* elsewhere
Oh, gross, man, you can't erp here, this is a blue board
You're definitely a homosexual yourself, given that you have to narrowly avoid direct confrontation like a pussy and have to dismiss my very blunt words with such baby-like responses. You should probably cut yourself some more. Maybe then you'll summon that black dick up your ass you've been wishing for this week.
OOC; ((Great writing, anon, very in-character))
>no i'm not ERP-ing!
>[talks about summoning black dicks into anon's ass]
are u sure?
Consensus cracking moral subversion doesn't phase me the way you think it does, troony.
Aha! I got it!
Anon must be roleplaying a character... Who's currently ROLEPLAYING A CHARACTER!
Plugging your ears and shouting La La La isn't something an adult should be doing.
kek anon how are you not figuring out youre being trolled holy shit
lol knowing you're being trolled and telling the guy off for trolling you isn't a good tactic to stop getting trolled
I don't care if he stops. The point is not playing into it and making a direct point about how boring, pedantic, and pathetic it is to do such an obvious and pisspoor attempt. I'd rather him think about something than just call him a homosexual
Yo this dude got trolled on Cinemaphile.
About as effective as shouting Black person in a random stranger's face and calling it a troll
now that that nonsense is over...
any predictions for future episodes?
btw anons, (You) don't watch the sneak peeks... right?
I wonder how far back this show gets made, I'm sure the creators peruse the web here and they probably can't take ideas from us but I don't doubt they'll see the responses to the stuff they give us and take them into account, it'd be interesting to see it happen
Probably next season
Neat
How many more eps in s2 bros?
at least 2 more
I love the show but if it ever goes past like Season 5, I can see it getting stale.
This show makes me smile
Pokemon doesnt make me smile anymore but Sam and Max does.
Alan should be a furry, hot take. Opinions?
but why
He just has that energy, he has the vision. I see it.
You know why.
this season needs more B plots. gwimbly is the only episode that's had one so far i think
uhhh... smiling friends haters sisters... our response?
we've been thru this already, templateposter
learn to articulate words before you post
Yaaaay more to hate 😀
bump
>goatse
He cute when he pray
Scared Charlie is just cute in general
>they reference the nose sucking
kek
i appreciate the weird art, anon, but i'm not watching a preview and i think neither should you
you ARE capable of holding off on watching previews, right, anon? you're not some kinda ipad kiddie hopped up on sugar and cocomelon who can't just postpone gratification... riiiiiight anon?
i hate how they keep bringing back what should be one-off joke characters from the first season. it feels cheap. i want to see new weird characters, i don't need to know more about these random gags
Same way they brought back the aliens that got a little appearance in the magic forest, they used them well, and that's ok with me
As long as they don't start doing "Shrimp comes back for a WHOLE NOTHER ADVENTURE!" much
>p3
Sauce?
Nevermind
