Legendary actors don't do superhero garbage
kek christian bale is no longer a legendary actor
>bale
>legendary
since when?
Have you not seen the Fighter?
have you not seen these digits?
batman isn't a super-hero
He was in the goyslop thor movie
I totally blacked out on Batman. I thought about that new Thor movie he was in.
Because you can get typecast into them. Leo is good friends with Tobey Maguire who did Spider-Man and got fricked on drugs. Tobey hasn't really been in anything big since.
This advice is more for younger guys.
every time christian bale gets brought up i have to think of him as patrick bateman.
it actually became an issue for me since i forgot his name in several public scenarios and in my mind his real name is patrick bateman so i keep insisting that christian bale is patrick bateman.
i dunno why i only realize his name is not bateman when someone actually tells me the actors name is chrstian bale.
It didn't help.
If James Lipton were still alive, he's not gonna bring up that role in an interview.
Never was
>puts more dedication into meeting the requirements of the role than 99.9% of working actors globally
>not a legend
just frick off and watch more slob actors who take easy roles and then can't even film a scene without passing out drunk
When was the last time bale was cast in a kino. Even that sperg nolan dropped him like a bad habit.
He shouldve specify "no marvel movie".
Batman begins is the best Super Hero movie
>Oldman
>Mads
>Hopkins
>Bale
>Von Sydow
>Hauer
>Blanchett
>Redford
>Hurt (John AND William)
>Norton
>Douglas
>Close
I could go on but you're a fricking moron
All hacks and very reddit
Who?
Gene Hackman
Jack Nicholson
Adam West
>no jack Nicholson
>no Christian Bale
>no robot Pattinson
Excuse me?
You forgot Dafoe, but Leo was definitely referring to MCU mass produced shit - the capeshit craze that dominated the 2010's, not pre-2008 stuff, which would be hit or miss and you'd have to decide for yourself instead of adopting a strict no capeshit rule as you would with Marvel/Disney
All shit actors.
Point proven.
>Oldman
Nolan trylogy is the only non capeshit hero movie
>Mads
dead career
>Norton
dead career
the rest were all shit actors
All dead careers killed by their capeshit appearances. What are you trying to say? Anon is correct?
And no:
>John Wayne
>Steve MacQueen
>Jason Robbard
>Clint Eastwood
>Sean Connery
>Alain Delon
>James Stewart
>Grace Kelly
>Kim Novak
>Ingrid Bergman
you LightHeaded Idiot
John Wayne died years before the first Superman and his son was a frontrunner for the role but was thrown out because he lacked acting skill
Actually, while I'm at it, Eastwood turned down the Superman role because it clashed with his brand but specifically said he fully supported the idea of a Superman movie because he was a fan as a kid
the thing is though they were all before the 2010s, before the current marvel plague. i think that's what leo was warning about. before? they were just another adapted movie series. but now, to be a part of them? it's like some faux-cultural revolution you have to be a part of. leo realizes this and is now trying to impart his knowledge on the promising types like timothee
bunch of hacks
literally who
goated
>>Mads
hipster trash
???
>>Bale
psychopath
>>Von Sydow
gets a pass because if i don't he'll come back from the grave and kill me
lol
trash (but a cute)
had one brief moment of artistry when he was young, never to be seen again
trash
>>Hurt (John AND William)
gets a pass
narcissistic trash
trash
trash
>I could go on but you're a fricking moron
lol
>von sydow
>In 2012, he told Charlie Rose in an interview that Ingmar Bergman had told him he would contact him after death to show him that there was a life after death. When Rose asked von Sydow if he had heard from Bergman, he replied that he had but chose not to elaborate further on the exact meaning of this statement. In the same interview, he described himself as a doubter in his youth but stated this doubt was gone and indicated he came to agree with Bergman's belief in the afterlife.
Bergman literally haunted this guy
All of you forgot Arnold Schwarzenegger, the greatest actor of all time.
All established actors, Black personbrain. Except
>Adam West
kek and lel. Literally had the same stagnant typecast career Leo warned Tim about.
Based. All capeshit is trash.
>Reaction image of king pseud.
Frick off. Go blow up more frogs.
>furious capeshitting child shits self
Clean it up
ain't this the dude who's pretty much only known for a movie he didn't make?
not for the Blood & Shit trilogy?
>Capeshit is bad but putting my naked little son in a movie is okay!
>When I wanted to do the rape scene, I explained to [Mara Lorenzio] that I was going to hit her and rape her. There was no emotional relationship between us, because I had put a clause in all the women's contracts stating that they would not make love with the director. We had never talked to each other. I knew nothing about her. We went to the desert with two other people: the photographer and a technician. No one else. I said, 'I'm not going to rehearse. There will be only one take because it will be impossible to repeat. Roll the cameras only when I signal you to [...] And I really... I really... I really raped her. And she screamed.
>I said, 'I'm not going to rehearse. There will be only one take because it will be impossible to repeat. Roll the cameras only when I signal you to [...] And I really... I really... I really raped her. And she screamed.
Leo isn't a legendary actor. Zero range. Had to be given a pity oscar in a film where he was outperformed by a shitty actor.
> steal Jack Nicholson’s acting style
>superhero - a benevolent fictional character with superhuman powers
looks like he didn't listen after all.
Is that Willie Wonka? How many more times are they going to remake the original?
until pedos make it acceptable for wonka to groom charlie into his boy lover and heir to the chocolate debauchery
that'll be the definitive version
It would be funnier if it turned out Wonka was going bankrupt, and he was looking for some poor schmuck to leave with all the debt
Mad Hatter
its not a remake. more like a prequel. no factory no kids.
>no factory no kids.
Who wants to watch that?
I mean, someone did watch the Cruella movie
>Who wants to watch that?
Are you not excited for the Wonka Cinematic Universe™?
im predicting that movie to be a huge hit financially, and actually good. based on the photos off the sets it looks like they get it
That sounds like a recipe for disaster because it has to address where the hell he got the oompa loompas from
You sat that as if that isn't the whole point of what they're gonna do.
Original content is dead. We live in an era of rehashes and remakes, which is honestly pants on head moronic because original ideas are usually just a combination of old ideas with a fresh theme or style.
They CAN make new things, people WANT new things, it’s just that these fat cats are so comfy with their paychecks that they don’t want to rock the boat or risk a ~~*(massive failure*~~ like a movie earning 1 billion dollars instead of 3 billion dollars
Because capeshit tends to kill your career after you’ve done a dozen movies.
>kill your career
>done a dozen movies
if you still need a career after a dozen movies you either didn't get paid shit or you are beyond irresponsible.
Capeshit actors aren't taken seriously.
shit like Dune might as well be. Same for LOTR
inception is capeshit too.
Jean Reno midget.
>A movie about dreams, the infinite fantastical possibilities of the unconscious mind
>Men in suits explaining things
>The room spins a little
>anything sci-fi/fantasy is superhero
555-come on now. might as well include horror as well.
only small indie dramas aren't capeshit.
Franchises like DUNC are capeshit. You can deny it if you want, but you would be wrong and gay.
Dunc is an extremely critical look on heroes and authority figures. Paul is a charismatic, prescient boy wonder and he's going to drag the entire known Universe through the bloodiest conflict in human history. There will be no happy ending for him, if they adapt Messiah.
Leo was talking about what happened to Tobey
What the frick is wrong with Tim's face?
he is a israelite
yah, that's what he looks like
French
pure israeli genes, females love him tho
Sucking dick 24/7 does that to your face
phoenix still going strong after cape movie just hire decent agent so you dont have shitty role
moron
the joker is an exception. See nicholson.
he's such a kinomatic character it's worth the risk of being in superhero garbaggio
Joker wasn't done to sell toys. Once your face is on toys you're their to sell merchandise on top of the movie. Leo had never been an action figure. Once you pick one too, you can't do a 2nd without working out deals. So just never do one.
Joaquin Phoenix was already a star and well respected actor and Joker isn't a traditional superhero movie anyway. You can only get away with nerd shit if you've already got an established and respectable career doing "real" films because it's basically your retirement plan.
Joker wasn't a superhero movie. No benevolent hero, no superpowers. Not superhero.
>phoenix still going strong after cape movie just hire decent agent so you dont have shitty role
Joaquin might still going strong but River isn't. So at least half of that advice is seems pretty sound.
being a bad guy doesn't count duhhhhhh
It literally killed Jared Leto career
>phoenix still going strong after cape movie
JOKER WAS NOT A "CAPE" MOVIE THO!
Please go
Joker was just a shitty remake of a Scorcese flick.
Nerd shit isn't actual art so you're seen as a lowbrow loser only fit for disposable genre pieces. The only Star Wars actor who managed to escape that fate, for instance, is Harrison Ford. Guinness was the only legitimate acting star and Cushing was a B-movie genre guy while James Earl Jones was more a theater guy anyway.
Look at Star Trek as well. Nobody from there became big stars for anything except Star Trek and then cashing in on being personalities except for Michael Dorn as a voice actor (because he wasn't able to get "real" acting work). Doing nerd genre shit means you will always be associated with nerd genre shit and never be taken seriously as an actor.
>and no girls over 25.
Because to real thespians capeshit is just the equivalent to hallmarkCinemaphile or soap shows now.
>no superhero movies
>instead do garbage like DUNC
>no superhero movie
so getting mawled by a bear and surviving is normal then
Well it actually happened to someone, so yes it's achievable by a normal person, unlike wearing spandex, flying around and spouting quips non stop without being called a homosexual
wow, 1 in 10.000 survived, thats still capeshit lvl of survival
>Reality is capeshit
Holy cope, anon!
Paul Atreides is more of a superhero than Batman
No hard drugs
No superhero movies
No commercial flights to climate change conferences
Why do all modern Hollywood male stars look like they take dick?
Because they probably do
>Why do all modern Hollywood male stars look like they take dick?
I know the answer
You don't really work in a creative field without looking a bit cooky
kek all the beta goy redditors seething about superhero movies
Has there been a single actor who got big with superhero movies and went on to do anything else significant? Actors who were already famous before slumming it for capeshit bucks don't count.
Robert Downey Jr. career went downhill and Ironman saved him and made him a famous actor but that was before the capeshit craze, after the capeshit craze he went downhill again
chris pratt
he worked a lot before galaxy
no, he didn't, plus he was a joke, capeshit saved his career, but that's only because he was so pathetic and forgettable even capeshit was a step up
he was main character on 2 moderately successful TV shows and had a few "starring" roles in film before galaxy. it was a great choice joining MCU but he'd be fine without it
Probably because it’s an easy route to a fast paycheck. Look at the one Hemsworth brother. Couldn’t name a single project he’s in beyond milking Thor for a decade + for $300 million. It’s like a boxer who gets the big payday then isn’t as motivated to leave it all in the ring anymore
He has tried, he’s just kinda mediocre as an actor. rush was good.
good advice
stick to pussy and novels
>no hard drugs
Who the frick is gullible enough to think Timmy Chalamet isn’t snorting coke on the regular?
he only said that goatman gave him the advice, not that he took it.
Touché
that's rather baste advice, thanks leo
Well...we saw how that turned out for Twink Chalmut. Great advice, Leotardo.
They lock you in to a long-term commitment, which Leo's clearly not a fan of.
Do you think Leo thinks young actors are homosexuals? or is he a homosexual himself?
If he is gay, it wasn't because he was diddled or grew up bad at least. He seems stable. He hasn't turned to drugs, still close to family, so maybe he grew up unscathed as a young actor.
As someone who is a fan of MCU, I think for a lot of actors it has pigeonholed them. Their success outside of the MCU has been limited. And this could particularly affect Timothee due to his age. Remember Mark Hamill and Luke Skywalker?
The counterexample is Scarjo, who started playing Black Widow at 23-24 and went on to have a good career inside AND outside of Marvel.
>As someone who is a fan of MCU
>as someone who
vomit.jpg
Based Leo. Not like any girls under 25 are in marvel movies these days
Actors are nothing more than cattle.
no, romans called them prostitutes willing to sell to whoever gives them more glory
Because they're trash you fricking moron. FRICK YOU
It's an inoffensive advice specifically applicable to him only. He just got nominated for Oscar which will open up many doors, and superhero contracts will restrict your commitment. But of course a lot of people got mad about it, some even said Leo got salty he missed out on Spiderman role.
Bad advice
chalamet has some actual kinos and holland is only in reddit goyslop
Stop using that word
>an actor vs the kid from spiderman
don't know about that
>because
Timothee literally tried to get the Spider-Man role and lost out to Holland.
That was way before he realised he can harness his latent twink power
Funny how public racism is fine only against whites
It's not funny at all. It's horrible .
>Nat Wolff as Spider-Man
Jesus fricking Christ this would have been incredible. He'd be a great Peter Parker.
I love how the fact they cant out-write Peter Parker as a teenage white boy. Literally comes with the rights of the character.
Idris Elba should be the next spiderman.
Holland has been in like 7 flicks as Spiderman and he only has 5 million more than Calamet? Somebody has a shitty agent
charlemagne made half of that doing sick xbox controller customs
You can probably sell one of those now for a bunch of dosh
>7 schlocks in a jumpsuit on a green screen
>compared to 3 kinos in a tight armor suit in state of the art lighting tech
>only 5 mil more
shit, someone needs to hang theit agent
>why are superhero movies such a no-no?
I suppose he is talking about playing a main character, all the ones that do it are shitty actors, you can play small roles or one and done villains.
Annoying fans, 20 years contract obligations for the mcu, cursed if you sign for wb, very limited use of your skills, typecast. One of the few exceptions would be something like Joker, but that was Joker in name only so Joaquin didn't have to play a queer clown who gasses people and dude killed it.
Chalarat did Nu DUNC and it was just as bad as capeshit lol
Unless you have an established career, don't do superhero or you'll be typecasted.
It's fine if
>sidekick
>villain
>love interest
But the protagonist will shadow your career.
The main character in DUNC is the OG supahero.
>why no capeshit?
Look at wolverine. Cant recast and actor retired and now he'ss gone.
He's busy doing Broadway.
Are people really forgetting that the greatest actor of all time, Marlon Brando, did capeshit?
He’s basically right. Serious young actors don’t take superhero roles
Both of these actors cannot act though
Nobody will take a party clown seriously in the acting world. Even if not all of them voice it you can tell real actors (evens those known for exaggeration) don`t think of super hero flicks as actual movies. For them those amount as easy money or exposure at best which is why some promising actors fall for the bait. The thing about those parts is not only that they are shallow but that the character may take over the actor and prevent them from disappearing in their new roles. Some actors are 10 years (3 or 4 movies) playing those parts so the audience form expectations and may react negatively if those are not meet. So basically there is a tradeoff. Lots of early money and fame in exchange of future roles that could have been more challenging, interesting or even provide opportunities to do lots of different things...
>tfw it's gonna be pozzed
Personally I would like to do a Superhero movie in between skipping to my trailer to do lines and drink beer.
always knew leo was our guy
Because they are shit
Leo was gonna be Spider-Man in a James Cameron directed Spider-Man movie
Anyone who didn't answer "typecasting" is a brainlet. Once people look at you and immediately think of a famous character, it's tough to get roles playing characters who aren't similar. Who's similar to superheroes apart from other superheroes? You're pigeonholed, and it's a tiny hole.
Leo is too fat to be in a superhero movie.
It would have been good to do cape shit in it's heyday, but now that is has turned into full blow AIDS wrapped in Monkey Pox the advice makes 100% good sense.
Those with acting wisdom realize that it's a fad and will be a mark against your timelessness if you seek a legacy as a serious actor.
>no hard drugs
so Leo likes to BLAZE IT, huh?
theres a high chance you'll get sucked into endless sequels and crossovers stopping you from working on other films. youre not really able to show off your range or versatility as an actor when youre playing the same character over and over again, its bad for getting cast
>but why are superhero movies such a no-no?
What is
>don't typecast yourself in movies that are part of a fad
Sound advice. A lesser actor would take the lead in the Adventures of Capeshit and Green Screen 3 just for a paycheck.
