deadass, man. i haven't watched any of these shows about Space Cadets running around pew pew'ing people with laser guns. i'm here for the Jedi, the Sith, and the aliens. i do not give a fuck about John Rogue who i already know died at the end of Rogue One. where's my fucking Asajj Ventress series? where's the series about the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War? where's the series about the High Republic? why is everything fucking Space Cadets with blasters running around waging guerrilla wars that i don't give a fuck about against the Empire?
Apart from some silly costumes and props, the trailer looked promising. I hope we get more of the Empire's inner workings. The shots in the trailer with Imperial officers were the best.
Right from the first Obi wan trailer it looked shit. That show was destined to be shit. Rogue One was the only movie with competent design even if the characters aren't that good.(Aside from Krennic) Also the writer from Rogue One is working on this show. Plus no morons in the trailer yet and no focus on lightsabers and jedi.
Tony GIlroy. I noticed the show already had a similar look and feel to Rogue One. He's working as producer on the show so maybe he has some part in that.
Agreed. We need more Empire kino. The character in some sort of local security uniform looks cool too.
Also, if they show us Imperials, they have to actually make sure that costumes and locations look like Star Wars. Otherwise they're like "whatever, you can come in your home clothes, we'll shoot it in the backyard".
Your pic is wild mix of early fg42 and mg42, its not as recognizable as ak which needs way more shit done to it to fit into star wars. Remove curvy mag and change wooden handguard for starters, maybe add some crazy muzzle brake and fake optics
This is what happened with mandalorian. The sequel trilogy was so bad that the mandalorian was bad but at least had a somewhat coherent plot and OT designs that people forgave all its flaws and loved it.
Mandalorian could've been great if it just focused on bounty hunting and maybe becoming the leader of mandalore, but the luke/grogu shit made season 2 suck. Perhaps season 3 will correct itself, but I'm not optimistic.
Yeah that's what I was excited for when I first heard about the show when they announced it. Then he stops being a bounty hunter by the end of the third episode. The show is so tame and badly written I doubt the writers could make a good bounty hunting show anyways.
I got a feeling this one gonna be good.
At least it can't be more bad is it?
all three of you now collectively realize that disney actually does have good creative original star wars ideas, and when they execute them properly it turns out above average to very good (rogue one, mando s1).
it's when they take established characters and try to shoehorn them into these shows they shouldn't be in, or when they take beloved characters and rape them into the ground (obiwan, luke, yoda, etc.) it immediately becomes trash, see the end of rogue one, mando s2, book of boba fett, this obi wan show, etc.
disney should have just gone all in on old republic stuff and completely made up their own characters and lore, it would have ended up being 102348234x better than what we have now and it wouldn't piss off ardent fans of the franchise since they're not debasing characters that have existed in some cases for 45+ years
>all three of you now collectively realize that disney actually does have good creative original star wars ideas
Didn't read the rest of your paid drivel, but no. Rogue One was garbage and only manchildren redditors think otherwise. Mandalorian too, though it seemed better than it was coming after TLJ.
Why is Rogue One garbage? I think it's good because it expands upon the world without rehashing the same bullshit, the basic characters are likeable enough, the action sequences are good and Krennic is better than any other sequel villain combined. What did they do that makes it a garbage movie?
> >without rehashing
the death star plan stealing plotline is the single most used thing in SW history. i guess that's why disney deleted the entire EU out of existence though so they could say it doesn't count
Looks interesting but he was a secondary character from a prequel to Episode IV. Unless of course that's just marketing talk and the show begins to focus on [minority diversity hire]
If they don't bring in a bunch of established characters and just focus on this dude who we all know is going to die in another movie, it could actually be good.
Just tell side stories that have nothing to do with established characters and they can actually build something.
It will not happen anymore. Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman director) was supposed to do it, but the schedule got fucked and the film got quietly archived.
The only SW movie in the foreseeable future is the one by Taika Waititi.
It unironically looks good, which makes sense because the Gilroy brothers are involved and it probably has less oversight from KK because it doesn't involve any "signature" Star Wars characters
>hey who was the single most uninteresting character in the one somewhat passable movie we've made since taking over the franchise? >let's make an entire series around him!
jesus they aren't even trying, are they? just do ip man IN SPACE or something
Tony Gilroy lead series
Most episodes Directed by Benjamin Caron (The Crown)
Production design by Luke Hull (Chernobyl)
Creatures by Neal Scanlan who did the main movies
Music by Nicholas Britell (The King, Succession)
couple of Chernobyl producers
It doesn't look like he'll even be the main point of the show, just a lens to experience the plot through. Honestly they could've just came up with any random rebel character which potentially could've ended up being a nigress.
There's going to be more than one season? If the first is good I'd want to see more just so I can look away from the horror of ahsoka and whatever other shows they have coming.
Let's wait and see. If they launch another preemptive social media strike against racism and white supremacy we'll know it's another SW-themed money laundering project. If not, it will be judged on its own nerdy merits.
The Plot armor necessary to all this prequel stuff just kills the tension for me. A spy/intrigue Star Wars show sounds cool honestly but now it stars a guy I know won't have anything bad happen to him because he has to live to be vaporized when they Death Star Club Imp.
Visually looks great and expensive
Andor is my favourite Star Wars character can't wait to get his funko pops!
why is it so hard to make a star wars show? All you need are lightsabers, spaceships and twileks
you have lightsabers in kenobi now and they suck too
the twileks formed a union
deadass, man. i haven't watched any of these shows about Space Cadets running around pew pew'ing people with laser guns. i'm here for the Jedi, the Sith, and the aliens. i do not give a fuck about John Rogue who i already know died at the end of Rogue One. where's my fucking Asajj Ventress series? where's the series about the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War? where's the series about the High Republic? why is everything fucking Space Cadets with blasters running around waging guerrilla wars that i don't give a fuck about against the Empire?

And so the cycle starts again. You people are hopeless.
Right from the first Obi wan trailer it looked shit. That show was destined to be shit. Maybe my boyfriend won't beat me this time
i'am just excited about the music
Nicholas Britell making a star wars music could be tight
its gonna be political intrigue kino
seeing this guy get his head crushed by the mountain was the best part of GOT season 8
The Imperial stuff in the trailer is the only reason I'm interested in this show.
Agreed. We need more Empire kino. The character in some sort of local security uniform looks cool too.
Also, if they show us Imperials, they have to actually make sure that costumes and locations look like Star Wars. Otherwise they're like "whatever, you can come in your home clothes, we'll shoot it in the backyard".
political intrigue show requires writers to be smart or else everyone in it will be a retard
>ANDWR
what does this mean?
They made Obi-Wan bad on purpose just so they can call the fans racist. Why would they make this show good?
It will probably be good if it doesnt involve old characters, jedis or lightsabers.
evil can not create
Finally, a show about the 7th most memorable character in Rogue One - it's what the people have been screaming out for!
This licence is doomed to death.
Let it die plz.
kekekekekekke
Carrying on the tradition of gluing metal bits to pre-existing weaponry.
They could've chosen any other gun and it would've been cool, but why does it have to be an AK?
Your pic is wild mix of early fg42 and mg42, its not as recognizable as ak which needs way more shit done to it to fit into star wars. Remove curvy mag and change wooden handguard for starters, maybe add some crazy muzzle brake and fake optics

>it's been shit for years, but this time it'll be different!
Stockholm syndrome.
I've got a bad feeling about this.
ENDLESS TRAAASH
>Diversity Rogue One
Looking forward to Rogue Juan
Looking forward to Juan Solo
>it's a mouse shilling thread
>it’s a star war fans will eat up literally anything cause they’re manchildren who love children shows thread

where have I heard that one before

it is a competent team. i'am hopefull
At least there not using the same team of hacks who got lucky once.
looks like total crap. just another revolutiaaaan! shitshow story. nobody asked for this. you redditfags are fucking hopeless.
I will not watch it fuck Disney Wars
>Andor.
WHO?
How did that character get his own tv series?, could any Star Wars expert explain it to me?
because disney can do nothing right when it comes to SW
plus the guy is mexican so they need to score points with them and not just blacks
It doesn't look like he'll even be the main point of the show, just a lens to experience the plot through. Honestly they could've just came up with any random rebel character which potentially could've ended up being a nigress.
should've gone mon mothma
maybe snuck in a few godzilla fans who read it wrong
bunny, alan tudyk and ip man said no and he just was next in line of rogue one characters
i dont remember who any of these r1 characters are
i hope we can se bunny again at least on season 3
they were searching Jyn by name of Liana Hallik at the beggining of RO so what's up with that?
There's going to be more than one season? If the first is good I'd want to see more just so I can look away from the horror of ahsoka and whatever other shows they have coming.
he met her only during rogue one events so no way to shove her into this, sorry bunnybro
didn't this scene get cut? what a shame, she's perfect
How many SW series has Disney produced ever since they bought the franchise out? Maybe take a break? Holy fuck?
Let's wait and see. If they launch another preemptive social media strike against racism and white supremacy we'll know it's another SW-themed money laundering project. If not, it will be judged on its own nerdy merits.

I totally agree. It's going to be at least as good as Morbius.
and or what?
