Everyone is just walking in place like a video game test animation. The holograms and force fields make it look and feel like everyone is interacting at a distance, but the baseball itself isn't real.

Walking in place except when they're moving relative to each other, not that it would make sense with more than one person in the holodeck even if they were stationary.

          >Walking in place except when they're moving relative to each other
Explain why you feel like the holograms have to reflect the actual positions of the real people as they're standing within the holosuite, since all physical interaction is faked by the force fields.

Because we see them end simulations and they don't instantly teleport back to where they were when they first turned it on. We also see them enter it when it's already on. You also can't direct all the light to appear in different ways for different viewpoints. Stand to the side of one of those 3d road illusions.

              >You also can't direct all the light to appear in different ways for different viewpoints.
Sure they can. the holodecks works by filling a volume of space with holograms. If this wasn't the case then people couldn't obscure themselves from view of other people in the room while the hologram is running.

With that kind of technology you can create a forced perspective illusion where the hologram is simply smaller rather than actually being far away, meanwhile you can do this with other people in the space. In reality you might be close but actually you're both surrounded by holograms.

As long as they're standing still it should be fine since the holo suite by design works by projecting a holographic image around the people in it. Someone could stand a foot away from you and the holodeck can make it appear that you're hundreds of feet apart. If you have multiple suites then they should be able to project the image of the other players to the other, making it appear they're in the same space and at any arbitrary distance apart even though they're in two different rooms. They could even throw simulated objects between each other.

The really tricky part is making sure they don't run into a wall or each other if they're in the same space.

I was thought the lore addition of Vulcans being stronger is stupid. Which Star Trek added that? They're space elves. They should at least have 10% - 20% less strength than your average human if not equal to humans

D&D or Star Trek? The only exposure I've had to D&D is playing Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 and Eye of the Beholder. I also read some of 2nd D&D manual despite having zero friends. So my guess is D&D?

        >Which Star Trek added that?
The first one, if the Vulcans had been added in TNG they unironically would have probably followed DnD stats and been weaker than humans.

I do not watch those sports but I've been saying for years now that the NHL should cut out 1/3 of the regular season. It would make the games matter more and would result in less injuries for the players.

Teams come and go, things change, but so long as the sport is the sport, it can remain somewhat pure. A double play is still satisfying, as is a stolen base, tagging a stretch, and pitching a no-hitter. The rest is just moneymaking bullshit anyway.
