I just came up with a new TikTok challenge. It's called the Watch "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" Challenge.

I just came up with a new TikTok challenge. It's called the Watch "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" Challenge.

You have to watch the whole movie from start to finish in one sitting. You can't fall asleep, wonder off for parts of it or anything like that. You have to watch the whole movie.

I've tried it twice and never gotten past 25 minutes.

Impossible mode: you can't play on your phone

I tried watching it and I just hated it. Whole thing's suffused with this unbearable faux gravitas. Like you can tell the director is a dork by the way he handles the camera.

I liked it the first time I watched it, then I read the book and couldn't get through it when I tried to watch it agian.

I've read the book and want to watch the movie.
It's got Mark Strong, Colin Firth, and and Gary Oldman in it. It has to be good.

Anyone actually want to do this challenge tonight? I might watch it for the sake of it

It really is a normie filter this film. It's absolute fricking gash and only an npc can sit through this boring pointless shit and think it's some kind of intellectual spy thriller. I honestly thought it would never end it was so boring, turned it off after 45 minutes, felt like I'd been watching 3 weeks

I couldn't finish it either. The book was very boring as well (it was sold as a part of *insomnia stories* collection back when people still used to buy printed magazines and newspaper)

I watched it just two weeks ago.
It’s not a movie for lazy viewing.
Nothing is spoon fed to the viewer.
If you like that kind of movie, and few people do, then you’ll love TTSS.
I kept thinking this seems like Slow Horses.

I put it on my second monitor and scrolled Cinemaphile while also taking breaks on my phone. About halfway through I got tired of how fricking boring it was and I couldn’t follow the dialogue. So I just turned it of.

They always skip the best and most interesting of the trilogy because you couldn't film it on no budget in an office building.

Wait you are complaining that it's boring?
My issue with it was that it was too fast, I didn't understand what was happening the first time I watched it.
Cool movie though, I specifically like the final sequence a lot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4CUvZF2YO8

Agreed, although I appreciate that the movie doesn't sit and make everything clear. First time through I was baffled and didn't come away liking it. The second time, I understood like 95% of what was going on and appreciated the mood, acting, sets, etc. and thought it was complete kino. Maybe you didn't want to spoil it, but the whole La Mer sequence is on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_s2r1vUzAc

I figured maybe the director was the reason it was good, but his only other English movie is The Snowman

I remember sitting down and watching it in full knowing nothing about it. All I remember was that Mark Strong had a bad wig and was gay.

I love mystery movies, and oh boy I hated this movie
It's such a chore, with a plot so asinine that the payoff of finding who the mole is, was so underwhelming
You just go "oh, it was that guy? whatever"
    It makes no difference
    There is no stakes
It doens't matter who did it, is such a scooby doo reveal, you don't even care

yeah the entire british secret service infiltrated at the highest level by communist moles isn't interesting at all *rolls eyes*

You see, that would be interesting
        But that's not this movie
There is no "infiltration", someone is leaking information and was armostronged to do it and that's it
It would have been really, really cool if it was really an infiltration movie, you are selling a movie that doesn't exist, TTSP isn't what you pitched
And you know it, that's why you have to resort to doing extra fluffing and making it more interesting than it was
        Which was my point

          >There is no "infiltration", someone is leaking information and was armostronged to do it and that's it
He wasn't armstronged, you probably just don't remember the plot
Also I have no idea why you think this wasn't about infiltration. Do you know what that word means?

I just finished watching it out of curiosity because of this thread (it had an excellent cast, so at the very least I was going to get some good performances out of it).
My question now is: are you guys actually moronic?
It's not slow at all, things keep happening every 30 seconds. Also I've read some people saying that it was difficult to follow the plot. Again, are you clinically moronic? There's nothing unclear about it.
