No, but Lois doesn’t have those things either. I fricking knew you would pivot to cherry-picking about something else to dodge addressing the key point. Which is that Lois in this series has very obviously been redesigned to look much much androgynous in this series compared to previous incarnation

I'm starting to think you don't know what cherry picking means and are just making the claim to hide your goal post moving everytime you get presented PHYSICAL, VIEWABLE, UNDENIABLE evidence to try and justify the fact that you want to frick little boys by saying they look like grown women.

Only someone with shit taste wearing rose colored glasses would consider the DCAU a 'masterpiece.'

Ay, it's good, but it's not STAS.

STAS had longer seasons and thus was able to characterize the people better; even though S1 and S3 were short (and S4 was essentially non-existent), it still ran for 50+ episodes.

MAWS is pitching S3/S4 but had to receive approval and EVEN IF they get that green light, they still will barely get to 40 episodes with that.

God you're an insufferable homosexual and I hope you stub your pinky toe every day for the rest of your life, and your socks are always slightly damp at all times.

Comic Superman couldn't fly... until Fleischer said "yeah, I want to animate Superman flying."
It's Superman, he's been around for going on 90 years, there's room for many many takes provided you get the essentials right. And yes, they got the essentials right - planet went boom, raised by good parents on Earth, decides to become a reporter, decides to be Superman and help people, falls for another reporter names Lois Lane, remains an A+ standup guy throughout.

        >Comic Superman couldn't fly... until Fleischer said "yeah, I want to animate Superman flying."
That was 90 fricking years ago, moron. I'm all for a new good idea adding to the comic lore, I'm not that stuck in the mud. HOWEVER, this show just makes everyone a boring ass tech person with a lame ass design, and completely fricked up Lois. A good cartoon is the STAS 90s cartoon.

          Anonymous

          >That was 90 years ago
More like 80. But so what?
Golden Age Superman was different from Silver Age was different from Byrne's take which got retconned before too long, meanwhile they were all different from the Donner movies, and none of the above were a straight adaptation of STAS which took from all of the above, AND THEN there's the various live action shows, mini-universes like All Star Superman, and so on and so on and so on.
          >It makes everyone a tech person
If your complaint is that there's too much reliance on characters using tech-based powers, say so. Don't just say "changing the source material."
And I will agree that they need some villains that aren't just "oops, I fell in a vat of Kryptonian tech!" but it still beats Smallville's "I wonder who's going to accidentally inhale a big green rock this week?" storytelling.

            Anonymous

Smallville is crap too, but I'll acknowledge the time it was made, the network budget, and everything else. This however? The animation isn't great, the designs are crap, the oversaturation of tech villains sucks, it falls into the pitfall of modern comedy/dialogue, and I just dont care for this take on Lois. And I'm frustrated over this show because 9 times out of 10 Cinemaphile will shitpost endlessly about Superman, yet wank this show off because they coom over Lois.

What are you talking about? STAS had more consistent quality than BTAS (which had higher high but it was peaks and valleys) and set the foundation of the entire DCAU.

This show however is mediocre at best, presenting the most surface level and safe take on the mythos ever. It's incredibly bland too with execution and samey villain backgrounds

That’s really all the evidence you need, STAS created something entirely new which is now a practical staple in Superman. Meanwhile everything “new” MAWS does is entirely derivative of other works.

In STAS season 1 the show didn't add anything new of note except maybe Mercy, who if we're being honest is a more competent stand-in for the likes of Miss Teschmacher and Otis.

                >under context it practically was new
You can argue the same about quite a lot of these updates. Going "okay, but this was a SPECIAL update" is moving the goalpost quite a bit. Anon pointed to Livewire as an example of the show adding something that was entirely new, not just "derivative of existing works."
Except Livewire didn't show up until season 2. Hell, MAWS doesn't even have seasons as long as STAS does, they don't have as much freedom to go "we can afford to spend an ep introducing an entirely new character." The entire first two seasons of MAWS comes to 16 episodes. STAS season 2 alone was 28 eps long.

Silver Banshee was a cool magically cursed bad guy, now just some rando with tech. Parasite had an accident that made him a starved monster, now he's just a jackass in armor. Livewire was pure energy, and yet again she's a rando in armor. It's all so lame and samey, and the designs are boring too.

Even Mxyzptlk misses the mark hard. The original design purposely made you think of a Looney Tunes character screwing over Superman, now he's just a literal gremlin

I'll grant you that Silver Banshee should have had a better origin in the show than just "gang member that found tech" but her comic origin is an overly-convoluted mess that was never going to translate well to the screen. It didn't even translate well to the comics.

          >Parasite is now just a jackass in armor

Silver Banshee would be completely forgotten if not for the fact that Superman has so few female villains. Her powers are weird and there was little call for her return after her initial story. John Byrne was a bad writer that coasted on Claremont's coattails and the fact that he could do a decent job marrying humor and cheesecake on She-Hulk.

Piss off, he's pretty much identical in every fricking dimension except for this one. He loves his own image too much to outright change it to this degree. It a redesign born purely from a shallow, misguided attempt at an anime reference. Plus making him an enemy of the multiversal Lois group was even more moronic and nonsensical, as well as having that group at all.

I maintain that classic Lois should have been left in and tomboy Lois should have been her own character. Classic Lois is more aloof and professional and appeals to the upstanding reporter Clark wants to be, while tomboy Lois is more direct and on his level and speaks to the farmboy in him. Both want to uncover Superman and go about it differently.

      >Classic Lois
I'd argue that "tomboy Lois" is a decent update of Golden Age/Fleisher Lois. If short hair and pants had been acceptable an acceptable look for lady reporters in the 40s, GA Lois might have gone for that. The show plays Lois' recklessness up for comedy more often, but GA Lois was plenty reckless too.
That's not to say that STAS and the like did it wrong, just that this feels like a pretty valid modernization too.

The more feminine look I’d argue is key to juxtapose Lois’ hard boiled personality. It just doesn’t make for as compelling a design when all femininity gets stripped from the design.

It’s hardly a nitpick, MAWS Lois is a pretty radical design departure which on top of the already radical artstyle departure. Like if the whole point of introducing a new artstyle to an established ip is seeing how those familiar faces get reinterpreted and Clark is the only character in the series who’s still recognizable as Superman.

Dude now you’re just doing exactly what you’ve chastised me for. I don’t even like Lois but here, here’s your art you want so bad. I hope you appreciate all the AIslop I had to sift through to bring you this.

God you're an insufferable homosexual and I hope you stub your pinky toe every day for the rest of your life, and your socks are always slightly damp at all times.

Hey I tried being nice and I tried ending it. What’s insufferable is you continuing to b***h about nothing

                >I don't even like Lois
At least you finally admit you've been arguing in bad faith the whole time since you were never going to care about any evidence against you.

                >I don’t like x
                >”erm bad faith much?”
                You’re so stupid

      B. She's Korean. Most Asian chicks don't have huge breasts.

The only people seething, not counting constructive criticism, are comicgays.

I personally don’t understand. Imagine defending comics that ripped Clark’s out, get one shot by Godzilla, assaulted in Russia, mess up his only son and turn him into a gay. humiliate him in the most grotesque ways. And don’t get me started on the horrible humiliation rituals Batman had to face.
