It's enjoyable for the most part, season 1 was pretty good and season 2 was good, I haven't bothered to watch season 3 though.
Yeah its pretty good unlike most sequels made decades later
not really, they spend way too much time on characters that aren't ash. the first season is a decent follow up to army of darkness but you can safely stop after that, or never start at all.
i liked having fresh faces and new characters, some autists just don't like change
S1 is great. S2 is good (I believe there was a fight with the showrunner halfway through this season and he left, as a result S2 is uneven). S3 is meh. Sam Rami directed the first episode and spent most of the seasons budget on it so it's definitely worth watching.
bruce is kino, the chick sidekick is annoying but tolerable, the dude sidekick really grew on me, there are big black breasts in the first season, ash's dad is funny and lucy lawless is fricking hot
this anon is right
this anon is the typical moron
I bet Bruce Campbell could shit in a bag and call it Evil Dead you would eat it you fricking no standards autist
It is ultimately redeemable because of classic Evil Dead antics that end up happening (for example, trapping a demon spawn child in a fat lady's corpse and shoving a bowling ball up her c**t and down her neck to keep him trapped). The main girl is extremely extremely annoying though, must have been a case of nepotism or sucking israeli wiener for her to get casted. The main guy that's not ash is alright. Ultimately 7/10. Not as good as the movies (which is to be expected) but still worth a watch.
t. The Evil Dead is one of my favorite movies.
>for her to get casted.
IT'S CAST. CAST. THERE IS NO CASTED. IT'S CAST. GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK HEAD. CAST.
Hey. It's going to be alright. The past tense is for moving on from.
my bad homie
you mean dana de lorenzo?
i didnt mind her at all tbh
yeah it is, it goes back and forth quite a lot, but it really serves to tie together all three films, Bruce is great in it, the first season and parts of the 2nd are great too, never finished the 3rd season
Season 2 is the best. Season 1 is also good, but it always bothered me it was always day time. Season 2 felt more atmospheric and had some of the best episodes of the series. Season 3 gets bogged down by Ash trying to save his relationship with an estranged daughter. It is a very cliche subplot.
DEAD BY DAWN DEAD BY DAWN
Has anyone seen the evildead supercut that links together all three films?theres some continuity issues but its an interesting experiment, it's blast when you've got a day to spare
the films are completely different in tone and style so i can't see how that would be enjoyable (esp since the second is a remake of the first)
>muh remake
Its a recap, raimi lost the rights to the 1st film otherwise he would have used stock footage in evil dead 2. Basically the first half hour of evil dead 2 is a remake, but scotty, sheila, linda and everyone are cannon and mentioned in ash v evil dead so suck on that one you fat piece of dookie
so you're of the mind that ash was stupid enough to go BACK to the cabin and play the tape again?
No moron NO, you sorely lack in reading comprehension
Not him, but you're not making any sense.
Its not a remake, its a sequel, both the character and events from the 1st movie and the events of the 2nd film both occurred and are achknowledged in the show
Evil Dead II is a remake of Evil Dead so how do they link it?
The show is garbage. For no reason Ash is now an incompetent 3 stooges character. I get in old age you slow down but it's a complete character shift more in line with the characters Bruce Campbell plays now
yes
pure kino
They basically make Ash a caricature of how people view Bruce Campbell and Army of Darkness Ash, a cheesy sleazy Johnny Bravo has-been in denial about his old age. Dana DeLorenzo was cast solely for sex appeal towards the target demo, which is husky horror convention guys that always wear black, love band hoodies and graphic tees, have unconventional hair, listen to shitty metal, etc. Ray Santiago was cast to balance the protagonist group without emasculating Bruce while also checking off a diversity box. Quality drops pretty quickly and goes up and down throughout the show, lots of sections of the show aren't entertaining, a lot of times it seems like they let a midwit fan write things, and I remember there being a lot of cringe Ash "lore" establishing.
You're a fool if you DON'T watch it.
the moment Xena shows up the show takes a drastic slide on quality
>A microcosm of the relationship would be like—you know that morgue scene where he battles a colon monster? That, to me, was one of the most fun, the most Evil Dead scenes you could have in the show—I loved it. I thought it would be really funny and scary and have Bruce at his best and have the visuals be amazing. To me, that fight was like, “Yes, that is exactly what the show should be,” and I had a lot of disagreements with the producer about that. “This is not Evil Dead” would be something that was said a lot, and the end of the day, you can’t really get too much done if the person who is creatively steering things and the person who is physically producing things aren’t agreeing on what is Evil Dead. I fought for weeks and weeks to get that colon fight in the show and I thought that was a no-brainer. To me, that is one of the most fun sequences we did on the show in two seasons.
The morgue fight was awesome and just show that the new showrunner ruined things.
