I used to like these films but they kind of glorify white supremacy so it's hard to enjoy them as much now, especially the first film where it's just relentless killing of PoC
2 sucks. contrarians will say 2 is the better film and 1 is for childish weebs or something, meanwhile in reality, every other scene in 2 is forgettable. between the esteban shit, tarantino using bill as a mouthpiece to rant about clark kent for 7 minutes, the strange amount of time spent on budd, to the whiplash you get with the pai mei sequence, its such a bizarre movie with odd choices. not to mention two massive separate contrivances that allow the bride to live.
meanwhile 1 is so fucking solid. Every scene from action to dialogue is incredibly memorable and the movie starts crazy strong and doesnt let up until the ending which is fantastic. its focused and consistent
>tarantino using bill as a mouthpiece to rant about clark kent for 7 minutes, >He still thinks the it’s actually about Superman and not Bill’s warped view of himself and normal people.

bruh i knew what the allegory was for, I just dont think it was earned with bill. as goofy as the cut micheal jai white scene was, at least it gave us some reason to respect bill. the only time we see him do anything is flashbacks of him ambushing a pregnant woman with 5 guys and machine guns. the movie did not earn this "im just a different breed... a wild and untamable powerful hitman"
its like, not really. we saw you fucking gun down a pregnant woman then hide for 2 movies
its like, not really. we saw you fucking gun down a pregnant woman then hide for 2 movies
the monologue is about the bride, not himself.
But I agree they should have kept the scene with Michael Jai White, there is something about how Bill and Kiddo treat one another that feels off. They obviously have some kind of love and respect for one another, but we don't really see that aside from when Bill introduces her to Pai Mei.
I do love the scenes between her and bill, but it maybe needed a little more set up.
Pai Mei is fucking sick but it feels like it belongs in a separate film and is essentially one giant reference. I know thats the point of the gimmick but its really is the absolute worst of tarantino being pastiche with his genre mixing and references.
>the absolute worst of tarantino being pastiche with his genre mixing and references.
I liked the part where he hit the women and played with his facial hair.
I like both and think they're both good in different ways. The only part I might agree on is the Esteban part. The Budd part is great, he's almost a secondary (tragic) protagonist.
I love Kill Bill, my parents let me see it when it first came out on video and I was 10 and it's why I love movies till this day.
I think it's a perfect movie to show young children to get them interested in movies, because it has so many creative shots and editing techniques that jump right out and amaze you.
Most films use techniques that are seamless, people aren't going to make note of things like shot/reverse shot even though they see it a million times. Most films use techniques that are part of basic filmic grammar, the audience understands them but doesn't think about them - just as someone might speak in perfect grammar but don't understand what an "infinitive" is.
But Kill Bill does things in a very obvious and exaggerated way, and in a fun way, and everyone will notice and appreciate film making techniques who sees it. Also the story is very simple - revenge, and it will show children how much parents love their children and they will appreciate and respect their mothers if they see it.
Also, violence is fine to show kids, they've seen tom and jerry they know violence on the tv isn't real. Maybe fast forward through the depictions of rape and pedophilia, but the movie shows you that those things are bad so I think it's actually fine to show them the whole movie.
The sad part is that the same gays who squee over this movie, usually haven't seen any of the movies, both early or late, that Taranturdo ripped off. It's pure American wank really. Not a bad set of movies, but ultimately an accidental commentary of how full of shit and self-centered that nation's culture really is.
I'm sorry

scratch the part about contrivances, I was thinking the rock salts and the hospital elle driver scene were in the same film.
This is spot on, first time I watched them back to back the drop in quality from 1 to 2 was extremely noticeable
I agree but the conclusion and final act of 2 is superb imo

You don't like Pai Mei?

I like that about it, it's like a side quest. It's the same in the first movie with the anime segment.
I like both and think they're both good in different ways. The only part I might agree on is the Esteban part. The Budd part is great, he's almost a secondary (tragic) protagonist.
MA NAME'S BUCK...I'M HERE TO FUCK..EH EH EH
kino scene bros, imagine the uproar today!
>Pai Mei hates american women
>takes american woman as a student
>teachers her his greatest technique
wow dude
american white women always win bro...its a law of nature...their pussy is just too good!
typical overrated tarrantino trash.
i will never understand you cultists.

kek you retard
bro imagine being ten and watching this scene.
I could not believe my eyes, watching this at that age was better than all my Christmases.
Part I is ok, Part II is mostly stupid. Easily could have been one movie.
best tarantino movies
Same. All 2 of them.
if you love them so much then why dont you marry them, gay?
The sad part is that the same gays who squee over this movie, usually haven't seen any of the movies, both early or late, that Taranturdo ripped off. It's pure American wank really.
