I agree with this. S1 was so solid because the main thread of Debbie/Ruth hating each other but working that out in the ring was so well done. The second that got pushed to the side the show was just a generic comedy that hardly ever involved the wrestling

I thought GLOW was still OK in season 3 but it was still a step down. I would have liked to see a season 4 to give some closure to the main characters.
I always felt that OITNB was at it's best when it was focusing on inter-prison drama with like Red vs whoever was coming in to challenge her that season. The piper and alex dyke drama stuff got repetitive and boring real fast. But also that show shouldn't have gone on that long, it's basically a completely different show during the riot and post-riot seasons.
I enjoyed the early seasons with Piper trying to adjust to prison life and keep herself from getting any time added to her sentence.
You're right that everything went downhill after the riot but coincidentally that was also when Piper went full on inmate mode and gave up on everything except lesbian sex.
I think the show was supposed to end much earlier than it did, but since it was one of Netflix's few successful originals it got dragged out 4 seasons too long hence all of the focus switching to the background characters.
Also I know it's a prison show with dark humour but seasons 1 to 3 just had a way different vibe that the riot season and especially s6 and s7. I mean i never expected a happy ending but that was way too dark for most of the cast. Red got Alzheimer, Lorna lost the baby and became even more insane, Nicky lost everyone she cared about and the ones she had left became insane, Penn killed herself, Taystee got framed to life in prison, the list goes on and on, like damn. It's not her fault but it makes me bitter about Piper that only she got a somewhat happy ending.
