Sideways was basically DC's Spider-Man with rift-tearing powers. Easily the best thing to spawn from the shit that was Metal.
His own on-going only lasted 13 issues and an annual.
In the small window of time he got, they actually manged to set up a decent supporting cast and handful of villains for him. Leto Dominus, Killspeed, the Showman, a few others.
DC's fricking inept. Look at all the work comic companies do to try to make new characters so they can stop shilling the same four everyone likes. DC finally makes something cool that isn't a sidekick, a gender bend or a race bend of an already existing popular character and they leave him to rot.
Sideways. A super strong teleporter who got his power from being exposed to "Dark Multiverse" energy during Dark Knights Metal. Basically Marvel comics was up it's own ass about being "allnew/alldifferent" and bleeding readership so DC put out a bunch of ripoffs of classic Marvel characters fans were missing. Sideways was the Spider-Man copy and he was awesome.
