I wouldn't really call most of the stuff on that list "hard" sci-fi, but still some good choices.
Like, The Incal? Really? The comic with evil dark space gods and other mysticism bullshit is hard sci-fi?
It's kinda hard (pun intended) since the principles of hard scifi defeats the purpose of western comics and cartoons in the first place, since they serve as escapism. At this point the list contains 'anything that isn't completely fantastical or soft scifi like superheros or mecha'. If 'The Incal' has no basis on any sort of real life scientific theories, I'll remove that title from the list. New recommendations are welcome as well
season 2 already came and went. i miss mist and the concept of CIs i feel her falling in love with caspian over 20 years was a good idea to help reinforce that despite never having been born into the world or experiencing humanity like you and me that they are human despite their origins
Everything up to the last two episodes was filler and felt like the first season all over again except the first season was new and exciting
Then shit moves so fast you are left behind confused as shit and you have to watch a video to fully get everything evangelion style. The pacing was dogshit, the villain was a joke and the only reason anyone will remember it is the trippy ending
It's not 100% clear but there's some indications that it was meant to be three seasons instead of two. Last two episodes of S2 introduce a lot of concepts that could have been spread out over an entire season instead of 2 single episodes, but it still balanced it well enough for an ending.
I'm only on Ep7 but so far its really good. Probably better than S1. But holy shit I don't think any other western show has gotten this metaphysical. Honestly I can't off the top of my head think of an anime that has. They really set out to explore the concept of uploaded intelligence and did not pull their intellectual punches on it. It's refreshing to see a smart show written by smart people, just a shame that it was basically doomed before it ever even aired.
>Honestly I can't off the top of my head think of an anime that has
Evangelion and Serial Experiments Lain are two famous ones that I can think of. As for Western animated movies there are Don Hertzfeldt productions
Eva eh not really. Eva's metaphysical stuff is mostly flash and no substance. People give Eva credit for being a lot smarter than it really is. Lain is a pretty good choice though. It's been too long since Ive seen anything from Hertzfeldt to comment. I mostly remember his stuff just being surreal rather than actually intellectually exploring reality as a concept but again it's been a minute since I watched any of his shorts.
Even if there were, which there's not, why would that bother you? This is like niglets crying about not seeing their kind in shows. If you constantly need to see characters you project yourself on to being fellated, you're just as pathetic.
While I don't think she ruined the show and I'm glad that the writers were smart enough to only use her in small doses, you can't pretend that Josephine wasn't a really shitty girlboss character that the show seemed to think the audience would be on board for.
It bothers me that every show these days seems to think that the only acceptable personality for a black woman is "Bitch."
>What's that you don't instantly trust me with godlike power? Well frick you, you have no right to expect to be able to vet me before handing me the power. And frick you for being honest with my family who I abandoned.
What made it worse is that ultimately her entire character is completely unnecessary. You could have cut all of her scenes and barely changed the story. In fact it would have given more time for the show to focus on other more important plotlines.
That problem of show writers/directors trying to get into the head of a character they can't possibly comprehend is not unique to this show. Still, can't say I'm not disappointed. I really liked the idea of a character who is so inhumanly warped by the UI situation that they become something incomprehensibly horrific. Almost like a digital Cthulhu.
It's woke in the sense that the writers seem very intuitive about the society they live in. Example: The feds are aware of the UI problem, but congress isn't. It's based as frick
Co-stars. She may be on the poster but damn near everything in the series revolves around Caspian. Maddie's importance to the story is centered around her relationship with her father in season 1, and then Caspian in season 2. Her biggest contribution to the story is the last 10 minutes of the final episode. It's huge to the story in terms of impact, but screen time wise it's just a small fraction of the entire show.
And even the last 10 minutes are only possible due to the actions of Caspian and Maddie's desire to reunite with him, again revolving the story around him.
Maddy was right to stop Jr. from uploading. Once you upload you get thousands of years of not developing as a person because all the changes to yourself are self inflicted.

Surprisingly fresh and original view on AI coming from a mid-00's indie Serbian cartoon. Wish it was more famous, definitely deserves it.
Anime or live action are two places where you need to go. It's kinda hard to find that in Western Animation, aside from Love, Death, and Robots
As for Cinemaphile media in general, here's what's gathered so far: https://rentry.org/hard-scifi-co/edit

Watch Farscape and The Expanse.
Also season 2 of Pantheon is coming. But that will be it, nothing more.

Kind of retconed by the ending mate
it wasnt retconned
Shame it was cancelled. I liked it
i think it ended well enough, more than can be said for most shows these days
Everything up to the last two episodes was filler and felt like the first season all over again except the first season was new and exciting

I thought it was always planned to be 2 seasons?
Some speculated that it's supposed to be three seasons but compressed it into two

It couldn't go on forever.
Wait is s2 already out and ripped? How was it?
You know how season 1 was like the matrix meets the Truman Show? Well they added Inception to the mix in season 2.

world of tomorrow and its sequels are more in line with that, give it a shot
we need a wing commander animated series that revolves around space ships firing lasers and missiles at each other
>i need more sci-fi
Tv
Movies
Anime
Vidya
Comics
Manga
Books
should satisfy you
going to find you, cum in your hair and then run away.
Needed Samara bullying Maddie more and then pressuring her into sex and becoming her plaything...just sayin

>hips made for caspian
Not Cinemaphile because like other anons said, it's a harder niche to find in the west but
>Ghost in the Shell SAC
>Texhnolyze
>Patlabor
>Cowboy Bebop
Is this worth watching? Seems woke
there are literally no gays except for a milisecond or something
There's strong, smarter than you women though
What? Caspian, Holstrom, Chanda, and David are the smartest characters by far. All the women in the show are morons compared to them.

maddy and her mom usually do the emotional appeal and change their outlook according to their own life situation.
i dare say its pretty redpilled.
It's woke in the sense that the writers seem very intuitive about the society they live in. Example: The feds are aware of the UI problem, but congress isn't. It's based as frick
The only woke thing about is that it stars an Asian teenage girl. That's about it.
Dropped

Yep. Caspian is a white straight male and he's the center of the show, so it's definitely non-woke
And even the last 10 minutes are only possible due to the actions of Caspian and Maddie's desire to reunite with him, again revolving the story around him.
its not.
You could try the two Star Trek Cinemaphile shows out currently.
Scavengers Reign airs soon, maybe that'll be good
not Cinemaphile but i like foundation. its far from perfect and has the typical woke casting and gay characters, but its entertaining.
Maddy was right to stop Jr. from uploading. Once you upload you get thousands of years of not developing as a person because all the changes to yourself are self inflicted.
Well, you got Scavengers releasing tomorrow
