Pretty much this. Pro-America propaganda went extinct by the 80s. It's all about anti-American propaganda now, baby!

That's not true, look at the transformers movies.

        >Pro-American Propaganda in Comics went extinct in the 80s.
        >About the same time that the Religious Right really started waving their dicks around.

Huh. Wonder if it's a coincidence.

Sad but true. The right made the mistake of not keeping the hardcore Christian right in check, and their prudence became so overbearing and obnoxious that artists flocked to liberal ideas on gore, sex, and culture in their art purely to spite them, and human nature being what it is, consumers found it thrilling and novel to see stuff willing to break taboos.

Forty years later, here we are, though if the pattern's any indication, hopefully we see it start swinging back in the other direction in the next decade or so. It's been said before, but the right really IS in the same position as the left was 40 years ago, and people are as sick of SJW narratives in their comics now as they were sick of Bible-thumpers then. The sales figures for American vs. manga comics suggest as much.

I dream that someday, in my lifetime, I see a comic promoting Christian values without ever namedropping Christianity being made, and made well off, of something like the Chronicles of Prydain IP. One can dream.

I doubt you'll get anything that can top Peanuts.

No, the right is not infiltrating academia or the civil service to use it as a weapon aganst non-comformity. It's still the left.

I don't care what they do to themselves. Both parties support personal freedoms that have a high chance to affect me personally at the moment, even though I choose not to partake in them. I might see a queer in a gimp suit because of the left. My kid might get killed at school because of the right.

Now, between death and seeing something uncomfortable, which one do you consider worse?

This post is unnecessary, dipshit. Its obviously a false equivalence and the American right wing has absolutely zero claim to any of its supposed moral high ground on any issue from abortion to fighting pedophilia.

      >school shootings
      >high chance
Dude... and you want to talk about MY false equivalency?

The odds that a child is going to be involved in a school shooting is 1 in 10,000,000.
The odds that your son will be sexually abused by an adult before turning 18 is 1 in 55. If you'd had a daughter instead, it would be 1 in 10.

Yes, because right wing people never have sex.

      1. Not exactly relevant, unless they're catching AIDS and dying from their sodomy, but even if it was,
      2. What happened to advocating for a right to privacy, keeping it in the bedroom? They might be hypocrites, but at least they had the decency to try to keep it to themselves and their lovers.
      3. Lol, the header literally immediately addressing the list's bias and stating that the Democrat sex scandals aren't included

I know woke politics make you all want to cry but the importance of comics IP to corporate entertainment means they can never criticize the government in any sort of substantial way. Post 9/11 comics, like all American culture, is packed with boot licking troop supporting propaganda. Yes, even the woke Marvel films are just commercials for America's future wars, the message is just intended to say that women can be imperialist thugs as well. If you can't see this let me spell it out, in the 1990s Doug Moench did stories in the regular Batman title about how the CIA were wrong to experiment on regular American civilians. Flash forward to The Dark Knight, a film with the moral that surveillance is good when the good guys do it.

You mean the movie where they directly addressed how unethical the machine was and how they're only using this as a last resort? The machine they immediately destroy afterwards, under threat of Lucius's resignation?

        >In 88% of the sexual abuse claims that CPS substantiates or finds supporting evidence of, the perpetrator is male.
You heard it here first, kill all men! We have to think of the children!

Good thing you guys overturned Roe v. Wade, so all those little girls can have rape babies!
